While browsing through the market stalls in Lowtown, Fenris catches Hawke enthralled by a particular item...
Fenris: Hawke what are you-
Hawke: Shh...Just look at her. Her taught curves, that ample undercarriage and all that encases her glorious spender is just a few tightly wound ropes. (sighs) It’s a crime really.
Fenris: (looks at Hawke puzzled.) You know you're talking about the crossbow?
Hawke: (inching closer) I know, but she's so...
Varric: (moves away) Hawke I would appreciate it if you didn't leer at Bianca like that. I find it, unsettling.
Hawke: There's nothing wrong with admiring good craftsmanship.
Fenris: (shakes his head) I believe yours rivals on lecherous.
Hawke: (reaching out to Bianca) But, I just want to-
Varric: (slaps Hawke's hand away) No means no Hawke! Come on Bianca, we're going home. (he shakes his head and walks towards the Hanged Man.)
Fenris: (mumbles under his breath) Hmph, you never look at me like that
Hawke: (confused) What?
Fenris: (looking away) What?

Have two! (2nd kind of long-- kick back with a nice cup of tea/coffee/soda/water/sparkling water/whatever beverage you prefer)
*snip of awesomeness, only to prevent spam*
"T-twentwee!" Hawke exclaimed loudly, falling out of her seat and laughing hysterically.

Love it, Crimsynn - the second one makes me want to read more but dread reading more...
And @ Doc - awesome as always!

OO for a totally weird question mb, but I was once again at the Deep roads where the siblings have the option of becoming a GW... and it hit me all over again [ as it does every time] that truly isnt it WEIRD that they could even have that option? Wasnt it in DAO said that it took hours of magical preperation. archdemon blood, and darkspawn blood, along with being really difficult to prepare and possible other constuients...
So how does the rambling GW's in the deep roads have any of those compenents aside from DS blood... I doubt they carry Archedemon blood around [ Roardan said it was in vault if I recall , so even a higher up fella such as him did not carry it about...] this kinda broke the immersion for me. Hence I only left the sibling [Carver} live once just to see it... what do you all think?

I had never considered that before. It is a bit of a plot hole. Maybe they had a way to keep your sibling alive until they could be taken somewhere to undergo the joining. Or maybe since their numbers are now so low all wardens carry around enough material to do a field joining just in case they find someone suitable.
The Free Marches
Stroud: Alright lad, we weren't expecting to be doing a joining while we were out, so this might not be pleasant.
Carver: What do you mean "not pleasant'?
Stroud: Usually a joining takes a few hours to do, but for the sake of time we're going to do this Amaranthine-style. (pulls out a silver flask) Now, Warden-Commander Amell assured me that this perfectly safe.
Carver: (chuckles) Well the worst thing it can do is kill me. (Drinks) It tastes like prune juice. (looks up at Stroud) Why does it taste like prune juice? Are you telling me that the most insidious foes the world has ever known taste like something my grandmother would drink?
Stroud: (smiles) Don't go spreading that around. It would ruin the whole "stoic protector" image we have.

The "field joining" theory isn't all bad. I mean, it's not like there's a shortage of archdemon blood, assuming someone was on his or her toes when the 5th Blight was ended.

the field joining is good, better than I could envision, except well.... there was 100 years between blights so... how much stuff do they pass out? lol , although it doesnt explain the incredibly difficult p[reperation and magic junk Alistair referred to ... on the other hand, it's AListair we're talkign about teehee [ I luv Alistair ]. Duncan should ahve been carrying some of that stuff then, since he was going out to find recruits and there were so few of them in feraldan, and it would have saved the Dalish warden a lot of illness in route to ostagar lol

I have a question which may be kind of stupid, but has anyone done a play through where they had everyone locked on rivalry. And if they did how did that work out. I mean if I want to rivalmance Fenris how does it play out if you have everyone at rivalry or do you need someone to be your friend? and do I need to answer things with the aggressive answers in other words do I need to be tough?
Never tried that, but I guess you don't need anybody to be your friend, since Rivalry once locked means loyalty as well, so they will still be your friends, just not share the same opinions you do.
About the rivalmance, once you have a certain level of rivalry, the romantic lines you choose will add rivalry points, instead of friendship points. Try to get as much rivalry as you can in Act I and if you must do something he agrees, don't take him with you. The sooner you lock total rivalry the better, after that you're free to agree/disagree without receiving friendship/rivalry points anymore.
In my rivalmance with Fenris I didn't choose rude lines, but put him in the party most of the time and aided the mages, that was enough.

But no, you don't need anyone at friendship, because the main difference between rivalry and friendship, the way I see it, is how closely your beliefs line up with those of the companion.
If you're on the friendship path, your beliefs line up well, and you agree on things and everything's all smooth sailing and disagreements rarely happen; it's a relationship built on mutual backpatting and agreement, as well as personal liking.
If you're on the rivalry path, you don't agree! You have arguments about your beliefs, but they come away from those arguments at least knowing that you are firm in your beliefs, and they can respect that. It's a relationship built on mutual respect and personal liking, rather than liking for each other's positions on matters.
That's why wobbling will leave you with no loyalty in the end unless you carefully manage who is in your party when you wobble - they can't respect you or trust you if you're always back-and-forth in your stances on matters.
At least, that's my interpretation!

I would say it makes me feel old, cept well I am old I guess! lol
Btw I think I kinda liked the times you could make your party members leave you cuz they get so angry.. I once had Wynne leave me [ and I liked her after the 3rd PT.] It truly is hard to have friends that you dont EVER agree with, you culd respect them, but hang with them? not so much... I like it in this game , cuz I once bought every damn gift I could to boost approval in DAO.
IDK tho, cuz there are some peeps that can be " bought" with gifts too. LOL It is hard sometimes to figure out the rivalry thing. I totally understand the confusion peeps have with it.

At the docks...
Fenris: (brooding…as usual) Why are we here…fishing?
Hawke: Um, cause we need to eat and food cost money, something we don’t really have a lot of at the moment, especially with as much as you and Carver pack away.
Both Carver and Fenris: Excuse me!
Hawke: (averts their glare) Anyway, we need free food and this is the perfect place to get it. Why? (catching the disgusted look on Fenris’s face) I swear your dislike for fish rivals your dislike for mages.
Fenris: Fishes are revolting. They smell, they’re slimy, and just the thought of cleaning one makes me want to vomit…so I would say, my loathing for fish and mages are about the same (taking more time to think) maybe mages more.
Hawke: (insulted) Hey, are you forgetting the company you keep?
Fenris: You know I’m not talking about you, (under his breath towards Hawke) you smell rather nice.
Hawke: (pleased) Thank you. But really Fenris, fish really aren't that ba-
Hawke’s sentence is cut off by a bite on the fishing rod. Hawke quickly recoils on the pole, letting the caught fish fly through the air, ultimately landing in Fenris’s lap. Fenris looks absolutely nauseated while Hawke and Carver painfully try to stifle their laughs.
Hawke: O.k…maybe-
Fenris: (fuming) Don’t…even…speak
Seeing that Fenris is really upset, Hawke sighs, stands from the dock and extends a hand to him.
Hawke: (smiling, apologetic) Come on. (looks over to Carver) You can finish up fishing? I’m going to take Fenris home for a needed bath.
Carver: (annoyed) Why can’t he just go and take a bath by himself?
Hawke: (looking back at Fenris) Cause I don’t want him to.
Carver looks confused for a moment; however it quickly turns to revulsion when he finally realizes what is meant in the statement. He turns to produce a sarcastic comment but it would fall on no ears; for they were already gone, leaving him to continue fishing, alone an irritated
Just wanted to drop this off before I go to bed....

Edited to add pics...
