Thats the main reason why I never kill off either sibling, the scene isn't worth it

Carver is a different kettle of fish. I think the angst he shares with Hawke is fun and enlivening. Actually, it reminds me of my relationship with my own brothers. I can relate to it utterly. So when I have the chance to play it out, I do. I leave him behind and let him become a Templar, so that he can tell Meredith, at the end, where to stick it as he holds his sword up in defense of his sister. It's an awesome scene, imo.

Carver to me is the better sibling in terms of characterization. The banter between him and Hawke just has a spark to it that Bethany lacks.

I stopped playing mid act 3 with Carver as a templar, I spose I really should finish it. My LadyHawke is a snarky mage, Of course Fen romance, She got " compelled" to hunt for the missing circle mages cuz of meredith basically threatening her I think. I could see Hawke hiring Zev for a slight assasination plan or even Isabela/varric?
what happens if you side with templars as mage and Carver templar ? Of course she will still try to arrest Hawke er wait she opts for killing, cullen okays arresting for tower imprisonment... wonder if Carver was ok with that decision too?!

That is the one playthrough I've never done; Carver always gets to be warden in my playthroughs. My curiosity is now piqued!

Oh and just to bring it back to Fenris - I'm doing a male rogue playthrough and I DIDN'T romance him but i'm keeping him as a bro/max friend. He's actually a really great friend, LOL. He's so considerate with the "my problems aren't your problems, don't want to get you involved" thing. I'm dying a little inside romancing isabella on my m!Hawke but... I do love being bros with Fenris, LOL.

I have to jump on the bandwagon and agree about Carver too. I much prefer him as a sibling than Bethany. I've had like 3 mage playthroughs and on the first 2 I made him a Grey Warden. On the 3rd mage I rivaled EVERYONE and made him into a Templar.
I was a blood mage, and let me tell you I don't recommend rivaling everyone. It.was.horrible. Especially Varric, he's such a douche as a rival. Back to the point - Templar Carver is not my favorite. The story doesn't really change much other than when he finds you he is with Meredith and is all "FU for letting mom die." Doesn't say 3 words to you really and then moves on. Later though when I sided with the mages he wanted to come with me but Meredith was all "you better remember your place and your calling as a Templar, boy." He said something like "I can't fight my sister this isn't what I wanted. I don't want this." Yet I couldn't convince him to side with me to fight against the Templars.
My favorite is siding with the mages as my snarky hawke mage with friendship Carver and the response "no hugs on the battlefield." I'm all "shut up your going to make me cry little brother!" He's all "onions under the caller.. Aveline's idea.. yeah..." with a big smile. If I had a brother I would assume him to be like Carver. The character is really well done.

I had to do two rougue playthrough to romance Anders properly because I just couldn't be friend with Fenris. Yeah, Fenris being your best buddy is actually kind of cool!
Still prefer him to be the love of your life, though.

I'm having that problem in my current play through. I was intent on romancing Anders and making Fenris my friend, but Fenris is just so engaging. I can't help but flirt. And he's completely endearing when he says he will have to work on his flirting. I even modded Anders appearance to make him more visually appealing, but I just can't get past his abruptness and paranoia.

I know that this is way off-topic, but I just saw the new pirates of the caribbean movie and decided that the bible thumper guy wasn't all that preachy, but then I realized that I'd gotten too used to Sebastian

I finally made Bethany a warden recently and was surprised by the change in her. She actually seems to adapt quite well to the circle, but she becomes so hard as a warden. I felt really guilty for taking her to Stroud.
