Gideon Emery in a booth wearing a DA t-shirt....

Interesting......

Hmm, either he's recording Fenris lines for a DLC, he just bought the shirt, wore it, and just took a picture to tease his fangirls... or both.

Oh him...

 @ZombieGeisha That's terrible! :crying:

I had 'Imprisoned with the wolf' on alert and was looking forward to reading how it all turned out, I hope you do get inspired to re-write that one.

A little late replying here... I've been very sleepy the last couple days. I keep falling asleep on the floor and waking up with someone expecting Hawke to say something... hahaha. (Yes, between jobs I have too much free time.)

You guys really blew my "selfish" argument to bits! lol. But I don't mind. I really enjoyed hearing everybody's thoughts about it. That's what these boards are really for, right? :3 I guess it's really just impossible to pigeonhole anyone in this game. Which is why I love the characters so much...

I definitely agree about Hawke likely not knowing what else to do with him/herself aside from taking care of everyone else. I'm still in Act 1 with my Jerkface-Hawke and still trying to figure out HIS motivations though... He hasn't "told" me yet.

@ZombieGeisha - I was reading that one too! I wondered what happened to it. I find very little Fenris Fanfic I can actually follow. When I do find one I like I stick with it forever, LOL. I sad now that your account disappeared. I thought it was just a glitch or something. Boo!

@beck -- The reason I love DA2 so much is because I can play through it again and again and again and still see something different each time. Be it the characters, cutscenes, developments, quips, banter, whatever. I always see something different. I love things that can do that, and very few things can. Also, every time I play I see something new about Fenris. I study his character in depth because I want to know more about him. I also do this with the other characters, but I just haven't had the heart to romance anyone else. I have a problem, I KNOW! Point is -- never take your first impressions seriously when it comes to Dragon age, because it is liable to change any time!

Hey, "Fen"atics (lol)! I drew a nine page comic series that is for the main part, Fenris romance(ish). Filled with with lulz, fluffy moments, and shirtless Fenris, Anders, and Varric; but one problem: I've been too lazy to color it. I have managed to get myself motivated to do that, so stay tuned. And if I seem to be slacking, don't be afraid to get on my case about it =]=]

i will try and re-write it, just worried I won't remember all the dialogue etc so may run a little differently. Working on some new ones at the moment.

I really hope he was recording DLC, it'd be awesome if he was.

I'm just working through my third playthrough and have recently finished the act 2 romancing/sexytimes with Fenris. So I'm curious which of the two versions you guys prefer, glowy kiss or what I tend to call the "premeditated" scene.

My first playthrough I got the glowy kiss scene, and I really liked the obvious passion and dramaticness of Fen's sort of "ohshi-" look when he catches himself having instinctively reacted to being touched, followed by Hawke's smile and dive-in kiss. But on my second playthrough I intentionally sought out the other version and found that, within the context of what's happening in the story, I like it better.

My reasoning for that is that with the glowy scene, you've just finished dealing with Hadrianna, who I always let Fen kill so he's feeling upset about feeling the hatred again and how he couldn't let it go and spare her, has found out he has a sister that he can't remember, and then nearly kills someone he respects/cares about out of instinct. That's a big whirl of emotion to then have spontaneous sex on top of. While it does fit perfectly that he'd then really be distraught when memories came up and slipped away during sex, I find the idea of starting out your relationship with him like that a bit of a shame.

In contrast, the other version lets him find out about his sister and begin dealing with the outcome of his confrontation with Hadrianna before you talk to him about wanting more than friendship. So when he turns up at your door saying he isn't able to get you out of his head, it just feels more like he's thought this through and he knows he wants you. It just feels more...mutual, and perhaps healthier for him in the longrun. I suppose I like that better because he's been through so much, and letting him have that room to breathe and decide things for himself for a change instead of always responding to things done to him makes me feel like progress is being made in his move toward freedom.

Just my take, but I'd love to hear other people's thoughts.

I prefer the 'premeditated' scene as well. It was the first one I got, before I ever even knew about the glowy version. I like the glowy kiss version for the sheer spontaneity of it, but I prefer the other version because it was more his choice, as you say. For someone who'd been given very little freedom to choose before, I just like that at that moment, he decided for himself that that was what he wanted.

I'm about to start my third playthrough.  How do you get the "premeditated" scene?  I've only gotten the glowy kiss.  Do you have to rivalmance Fenris to see that scene?

You let him leave after 'A Bitter Pill' and then return the next 'night' (or day, because I've shown up in the middle of the day to a Fenris waiting for some heavy snogging).

I got that in my first playthrough. I think it had something to do with the friendship/rivalry scale. My scale wasn't particulary high by the end of Act 2 (over 50%, but not yet reach 75%). So I got that Fog Warrior/drinking buddy scene after A Biiter Pill. I headed to his house straight after that scene and I got the 'Command me to go, and I will' kissing scene. Hehehe.

Thanks to a certain picture on Mr. Emery's FB site, am now so looking forward to the Story DLC.:wub:

While I agree the second version is probably healthier for Fenris' emotional state, the spontaneous scene fits my Hawke and his rivalmance with Fenris too well. In the scene with Hadriana Fenris makes a remark "What does magic touch that it doesn't spoil?" and that just gutted my mage Hawke, who took it as a personal rejection after he'd been doing everything he could to try and get on Fenris' good side. Then when he found Fenris at his mansion his emotions were swirling just as much as the rivalry scene becomes quite the heated argument, he wasn't going to let Fenris just walk out at that point.
Then the wall slam and Hawke just kind of threw caution to the wind and... yeah.... that's my Marric Hawke, Fenris drives him wild XD

Thanks so much for the help.    I wanted to avoid the  rivalmance so I gamed the system for friendship and got the Fog warrior scene before  a Bitter pill.  I'll in character this go around and see what happens.Posted Image

Hey everyone, I need some help and who better to ask for Fenris help than Fenris fans? I'm planning a huge project in stitches. I have a pic of Gideon that I'm charting (with his permission of course) and I'd like to do a Fenris stitch right alongside it. However, I'm hoping you lovely ppl can provide some really nice Fen pics and if they are yours, maybe give me permission to chart and stitch them. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :-D

Yup, as the others have said, it does depend on your friendship/rivalry level, but the only real requirement is that you do the story of his escape (with flirting) after "A Bitter Pill". I always nearly max out my friendship with him in the first act, so Questioning Beliefs unlocks at the beginning of act 2, but since I want the premeditated version, I do Speak to Fenris but leave Questioning Beliefs until after dealing with Hadriana. Then the next time you go back to your mansion after QB he shows up wanting to sex you. ;)

My first playthrough I got the premeditated kiss scene and it completely took me off guard, LOL. I like how he kind of pounced you and was all "In fact I can think of little else..." Yet when I see the glowy kiss scene I think I prefer it more.

I don't really see it as a spontaneous rage moment that comes from the Hadrianna conversation alone. Hawke whether rival or friend has always been someone he can share things with. So I think he is upset, yes, and the conversation is about Hadrianna, but the emotions have been building under the surface for a while. He even says, "but this isn't why I came..." I think he already has feelings for Hawke and comes to Hawke to appologize for running out and to say how he feels. Unfortunately it gets muddled in his explanation about Hadrianna. Hawke asks him to stay because he/she knows and feels the same way about Fenris. His glowy reaction is a culmination of confused emotion, but I think he always planned to come to Hawke and tell him/her how he feels.

I have tried both and while I think both are pretty dang awesome I generally prefer the "glowy" kiss with Fenris.

As I see it, Hawke and Fenris had an attraction of very deep and unspoken-of feelings from their first meeting.  That means we're looking at a simmering sort of emotion over a period of years by the time Hadriana shows up to be heart-smooshed.  That level of feeling must've been heady, intense, extraordinarily powerful.  And then you add to it Fenris' angst in that moment, the way he's suddenly remembering painful events involving Hadriana, and how much he realizes that time has marked him and continues to burn him up inside.

So thinking of Hadriana and then having Hawke reach out to touch him -- what you end up with is a hugely overwhelming and incredible burst of feelings, lots of anger and rage that's suddenly turned want and desire.  It's Fenris' anger towards Hadriana combined with his own self-condemnation, his fear he isn't good enough for Hawke, that his years as a slave have somehow corrupted or ruined him, which can never overcome the intensity of desire for her that he has.  And Fenris goes "glowy".  It's just so...awesome.

Allright, I don't wanna be at work anymore but playing DA2, <whiny>.

Anders: (half-asleep) I love you Ser-Pounce-A-Lot. You silly little kitty. (Turns around and opens eyes only to see Fenris) Sweet lacy, flaming knickers of Andraste!

Fenris: (jolting awake) Blood of the Magisters! What are you doing here?!

Anders: What are you doing here? (looks under the sheets) Why am I naked?!

Fenris: Please don't tell me...

Anders: No. no Maker please don't tell me anything happened.

Fenris: Nothing happened we just had a few drinks and something happened. We were drunk that is all.

Anders: You don't understand. I'm possessed Justice doesn't let me get drunk. Ever.

Fenris: Then we...Fendhis.

Anders: What...what do we do?

Fenris: We never speak of what happened here ever again and we pretend like nothing ever happened.

Anders: So pretty much a repeat of what you did to Hawke.

Fenris: (phases hand) I could always put you out of your misery.

Anders: I like your plan. It's a good plan and I completely support it..

(meanwhile on the otherside of the suite's door)

Hawke: (looking through peephole) Isabela, you are an evil, evil woman.

Isabela: Well knocking them out, stripping them, and sticking them in my room should get them to stop bickering.

Hawke:
I wholeheartedly agree.
