That's hard for me because I actually like the M-F romance on Fenris more than the M-M. I also feel that the M-M Anders romance is the best one when it comes to one gender romances.

I guess I won't vote... because I don't want to vote against Fenris on anything, LMAO.

GMTA

I feel the same way. Need to let us pick two options in most polls.

added them in -- THANKS much

Also, added in sound the bugle -- I didn't really like the song at first. Kind of slow for my taste, but the lyrics do fit well so I added it.

And this thread is sorely lacking Fenris pics, and I just found this one

Oh, it looks about time to promote our existing smutty FB group again.

We have a group on FB - MEG. It is for everyone who wants a place to talk smut/rage/fangurrrl over Fenris with other similar-minded people. It is a closed group, meaning that your posts will not be visible outside the group.
There is no pressure to befriend the group members and we do not spy on your FB profile so don't be afraid. The group is 18+ to enter and pretty much everything in it is NSFW to the extreme.

If you would like to join us, find us HERE

We also have made a Fenris playlist that is available to anyone who can access Spotify: FenPlaylist

Thank you I love you.  *runs immediately to FB*

Are there any OFFICIAL pictures of what Fenris's tattoos look like under his armor? I'm inclined to think there aren't, otherwise I would have seen them... But just as Varric said, it would be pretty darn cool seeing Fenris walk around in a cloth shirt with those tattoos glowing through.

Fav one genmder romance

Like I said on the thread, from what I've seen and played of the romances, Fenris just seems better with a girl. So I chose the last option.

Unfortunately, we have no idea what Fenris' tatoos look like beyond what we see in-game. I can't find the exact post, but I remember Dave saying that he wanted to have Fenris shirtless in the love scene, but the art department couldn't put that model in due to time constraints.

3D modeling is a time-intensive task, I shudder to think of how long it took the folks up in Edmonton to just make the model of Fenris.

Are we still listing Fenris songs? Because I thought of more, so I guess I'll share...again XD

-Linger-epica
-Animal I have become- Three days grace
-Death speed metal- Slayer (Not really sure why, a lot of slayer songs remind of idk)
-This world can't tear us apart- trivium (I know, corniest lyrics ever XD)
-Wasted years- Iron maiden (b/c it does kind of seem like he misses Tevinter a little bit when you first talk to him or maybe that's just me)
-She is my sin- Nightwish (Mage Rivalmance)

Okay...I think I stop now...

Awesome I added some, not all.

Cool! I was sure some of them didn't fit unless you were in my twisted brain and all..

I'm starting to have a new appreciation for within temptation. Evanescence is one of my favorite bands, and within temptation is so like them in sound and song sometimes. I can't help but like their songs. Anyways, thanks so much for those! Not all of them reminded me of Fenris, but I put the ones that didn't in my personal stash, LOL.

[Off-topic fun!] I started listening to WT first-- one of my friends introduced me to the band. Before hand I was listening to *horror* country music. WT was my first serious metal/rock I ever listened to (the first song I heard was "Angels") and I decided, "Hey, I like that!" I looked into them more and just found that I liked a lot of the music and went up to the friend who showed me the WT music and went, "Can I borrow your WT CDs, please?" She showed me Evanescence not too long after, and then from there, I started listening to whatever I could find.

I have a huge respect for WT. They didn't want to fall under just one genre label because they wanted to play what they wanted to play, but when they did, they took it well and didn't have a "OMFGWTFH?!" meltdown. They're really good with their fans. Sharon den Adel has NO VOCAL TRAINING WHATSOEVER, and I have to say, she sounds brilliant. [/Off-topic fun!]

I wish.

But then do you know how many Fengirls and Fenboys we'd probably have to hospitalize from the blood-loss? So it's somewhat a blessing in disguise. ^_^

I don't know about that... There's enough super-squee-worthy hot fanart out there, I guess we don't need much more help on our way to anemia.

OoOoO good ones! I can't believe I forgot Animal *facepalm.* I'm also loving "she is my sin by Nightwish" - a great song, and it fits too!

Also, Death Speed metal totally fits especially --

"Silent is the cry lying on your mattress of blood

An easy mark for a veteran of execution

I walk step by step with death

Where all bludgeoned bodies lie

You will see my face of rage

Cut your heart out of your chest (<--- I LoL'ed)

Leave impaled the consummation of mankind"

And "No, don't... stop... the muussiic!" I'm always looking for mor songs for my list :P. It seems me and you metalgirl have similar tastes in music too, lmao.

To Crymson Rose: It's a good place to start anyways. *shudder* country. All country is to me is "my dog died, my woman left me... drinkin' to oblivionnn" stuff. I never liked the twanginess or the sound of country. Evanescence is my favorite since they first made an appearance with "bring me to life." I loved that song and was all "can I have more!?" I bought all their stuff, so melodic, haunting, with just the right amount of beat and pacing. Not to slow, not to fast. Love them. W.T. came on my Pandora one day and I was all "oooo what is this??" I liked a few of their songs, but with all the suggestions people have been making I'm liking them even more.

About the Fenris' tattoos --- I remember Gaider said something about going to the Art department too, and every time he would bring up the suggestion for a shirtless Fenris they would give him *sad eyes* about the tattoos. I also remember he DID NOT like the fact that Fenris had no shoes. He fought for shoes, but the elf no shoe thing had become so established that he couldn't convince them. Still, I do love Fenris' footsie lyrium marks.

Herp derp - "Fenris theme" -- added. I have this on my personal playlist of songs so I can't believe I left it out. I love his theme, it's so beautiful.

Most of those made it to the list so good, good...

Added some more, justified ones i didn't below. Thanks so much Tealsie!

30 Seconds To Mars – Stranger in a Strange Land (would you believe I could not find this song on grooveshark! though it is a great song, and fits well.)

Garbage – I Think I'm Paranoid (I love this song, but I can't make it fit to Fenris for me. Plus, personally it already has a place assigned to it for me.)

Evanescence – My Immortal (this will forever remind me of something else, one of my favorite songs, but I can't assign it to Fenris.)

Mumford & Sons – Roll Away Your Stone ( I can see how this fits, but not my kind of music :?)

Audioslave – Like A Stone (again, this will always remind me of something else, and I can't see Fenris when I hear it)

Walls of Jericho – Addicted - Feat. Corey Taylor (couldn't find this one, but I've heard it before.)

@Arquen Cool, music buddy!! lmao

Anyway, why doesn't Fenris wear shoes exactly? I understand Merril not wearing shoes b/c she's Dalish and they're all very close to the earth and what not, but why wouldn't Fenris wear shoes? He comes form a city and most cities in that time didn't have indoor plumbing so they just threw in out a window, into the street. So it seems like he'd wear shoes, if he had a choice in the matter. I don't know, it just seems weird. In fact one of the only reasons I modded his armor was so he'd have shoes. XD

For some reason when the art department/ developers made elves they decided that most of them had an aversion to shoes.

I don't get it either, honestly. Especially someone like Fenris who really doesn't have an attachment to elven heritage or even elves in general. He is an elf, that is about it. He would not care about a tradition of not wearing shoes. I think that was all the art and developers making the call. Maybe they figured it made them "unique" in some way. That because they were companions they had this non-shoe fetish. As said, it doesn't fit his character very well, and I'm sure Gaider made quite a stink about it, but apparently he lost, LOL.

It's an interesting look but not something you want to think too much about.

Do elven feet harden like animals? Tough but supple or ew like human feet?

Probably hard and tough "like animals". Ever read the Jungle Book? If I remember correctly, it's said somewhere in there that the bottoms of Mowgli's feet turn hard from running around without shoes all his life. I'd think elves would be similar. Though it's a little odd trying to imagine a human with these tough pads on their soles. Posted Image

And as for why they don't wear shoes: barefoot is better. Posted Image
...Or it could be a way of being "closer" to nature or something. Maybe elves even started out(a long long time ago) wearing little to no clothing, but... "exposure" to humans eventually had them wearing more and more clothes. They haven't yet adopted shoes with soles.
or... something? Posted Image

Not having shoes helps with balance and grip... in strange ways. There's a reason competitive gymnasts go barefoot, rather than wearing shoes (there are shoes you can wear... gymnastics or kung-fu shoes, but they never provide the same access to your senses that being actually barefoot does.) I've done both gymnastics and martial arts, and both are easier and more versatile with bare feet.

There's a bit in an old Pratchett book about the virtue of worn-out boots. You can tell exactly where you are by the cobbles and the temperature of the stones and all that good stuff. Well you can tell even more if you're absolutely barefoot, especially in the forest. How much rain you've been getting, whether deciduous trees are giving way to pines, how old the trees around you are. Wearing shoes for a race used to being barefoot would be like blocking off your sense of smell... it's not a vital sense, but it's an extra sense that might help you, and you'd miss it when it was gone.

If your race actually develops callused enough feet not to worry about injury, then going barefoot would definitely help quickness and dexterity. I don't think it's so ridiculous at all, especially if the slave masters in Tevinter know this about Elves, and thus let them get used to going barefoot early on, to enhance their combat prowess later.

I can see the benefits of no shoes if it was exclusive to elves. The problem I have is that I can't see why Fenris doesn't wear shoes. Even Zevran wears his Antivan Leather boots. I mean if it was an elven thing then an Assassin would surely want to benefit from this exclusive sense. Also, the city elves don't seem to share this no shoe policy. Even the Dalish hunters wear shoes. It's like if it was an elven thing for extra sense or combat prowess or whatever then why don't ALL elves do this? Why just Merrill and Fenris in particular along with a couple others?

Still makes no sense to me.

I think it's a thing you have to decide to do young, and then stick to like crazy your entire life.

When you're a child, it probably kind of sucks. You cut your feet a lot, they get sore a lot, and it's up to you to decide whether it's worth it. Once you put on the shoes and lose the calluses, there's no going back. It's like the calluses you get on your fingers if you play a lot of guitar. Ever play guitar for a few years and then stop? When you go back you can't play for more than twenty minutes without pain (if you have soft, delicate, girly hands like mine, at any rate.) Hell, I can barely play for more than five minutes now without wincing.

When Zev got to the ****house, they probably didn't realize the benefits of barefootedness and put shoes on him. If he had shoes on for the few years he'd lose the sensitivity and calluses and you can't go back. It's too difficult, or not worth it, or maybe downright impossible.

I don't think it's like "hey, I'm an assassin now, time to go barefoot and learn how to use a skill I should have been trained in since childhood." You have to be raised in it or you're not going to be able to learn or use it well enough for it to be worth the inconvenience of the occasional sharp stone or bit of glass.

If the Antivan crows don't know the benefits of training their elven assassins with the "prowess" of no shoes, then why would Danarius think to do this to Fenris. Only thing I can think of is that he was a slave, and Danarius wouldn't think to supply a slave with shoes especially if he didn't have or wear them to begin with.

Also, why would Merrill not have shoes and the Dalish hunters do. Merrill doesn't do a lot of fighting, and the Dalish hunters would benefit more from the "advantages" of no shoes. As said because it isn't really exclusive to elves I just don't get it. To me it is just a gimmick that was made by the art department just like the model change of the elves in general.

On the topic of music . . . I like "In a Memory" and "Everybody Runs" byThe Butterfly Effect for Fenris. Also, "Hate" by Moist.

On the topic of shoelessness, I have to admit that while I like it, it doesn't make a lot of sense and is inconsistent since most elves do, notably, wear shoes.

The barefoot thing baffled me as well though it's not my biggest issue with the elf-redesign... though I have to admit to loving Fenris' leggings and looking at the lyrium markings on his feet a lot >_> I think the developers just want to turn their elf fans into foot-fetishists (j/k)

I'm kind of late, but I feel the same way. Fenris is my favorite game romance in general to date, but for me, Fenris works better with M-F and I actually like the Anders romance best for the M-M route. Really, thinking about it, I like M-M better for Anders than M-F.

And maybe I'm crazy or just a glutton for irony, drama, and mismatched couples... not sure which... but I have this thing where I have to romance Fenris with a mage. I just HAVE to.
