I hope its not too late to add some songs I have in my Fenris Playlist?
Imogen Heap - Headlock
Imogen Heap - The Moment I Said It
I've been on an Imogen Heap fix for a while now, but unfortunately she's not very well heard ofHeadlock reminds me of Hawke n Fen's romance in general, whilst The Moment I Said It reminds me of when Fen leaves, and I can totally imagine Hawkie begging him not to go
Breaking Benjamin - Fade Away
Breaking Benjamin - Give me a sign
The lyrics of this one really remind me of Fen for some reason ^^;; whilst the second one makes me think of Hawke sadly watching Fen after he leaves, wanting to help, but not sure how, if that makes sense?
I have more, but meh. Any way, totally understand if no one agrees with any of these, just thought I'd share :3 x
OoOoO I like these! Added them all
Fade Away from Breaking Benjamin actually reminds me of both Fenris and Anders in a scary way, LOL. It's like they could do a duet singing it
@Patricia: what... something like this???

For me I can't do the Anders romance either. I love him to death as a friend. Yet I can't be romantically with him. I tried, but I get to the whole "pounce-a-hawke" suck your face thing and I'm all "okay - time out - I can't do this. The man is crazy!" Coincidentally I think his desperate need for love is why a lot of people find him attractive. That and his passion.
For me Fenris just clicks, always did. He is my favorite character, and I love his emotional idiocy and how it takes a lot to even get a relationship with him. If anything it feels like both Fenris and Hawke accidently fall in love. Like they aren't really looking for this, but somehow they just connect and it all happens. Some people fault Fenris for his "committment issues," but I completely understand him leaving and the 3 year thing. Personal opinions on this vary greatly though so I won't get into it, LOL.

I couldn't do it. I just couldn't romance Anders. I thought I'd pick him up after Fenris walked out. I was almost finished with "Dissent" knowing what was to come after, then I reloaded my save after "Bitter Pill". I just couldn't romance a man who is so needy. Fenris has issues to be sure, but he knows who he is right now and doesn't need constant reassurance. Then there's the voice (purrs), and the eyes (melts). Gahh! I'm hopeless.
Now you know how hard it was to me. I ended up only successfully romanced Anders once, and had to immediately going back playing Awakening afterward to make myself feeling better.
Fenris, at least, don't whine about himself as much. He mostly whine about the mages.
Remember a while back I post a Cosplay armour by aicosu?

Now their Cosplay is complete!

There are tons of Fenris Cosplay pictures, I can't possibly post them all. Here is their gallery linky: aicosu's deviantart gallery

Exactly my point. Anders is someone you want to help and encourage, but the DA2 version I just can't bring home to meet mom let alone ask him to move in. I hate to say this, but Fenris reminds me a lot of my husband (minus the whole lyrium-infused-skin-I-used-to-be-a-slave-lost-my-memory thing). They both are a bit arrogant, honest to a fault, feel deeply but are afraid to show it, have certain "issues" that you just have to learn to live with, and passionate (Arquen wrote...

@Tankygirl...Sweet pics!!! I only romanced Anders once. It was my very first play through. The more I got to know Anders, the more creeped out I got. Romancing Fenris takes some time, but in the end I feel it is the most satisfying.<3

I seem to be one of the few who has no problems romancing anyone else. I've romanced Fenris and Anders equal amounts(each about 3 times). Poor Isabela and Merrill have only been romanced once each.

@omear...The DA2 Anders is definitely NOT the Awakenings Anders. He kind of gets obsessive as the story progresses, and a little schizophrenic.

I've never completed the Anders romance. I started it on my first play through but stopped when he said something about taking on the world for Hawke or something like that. I don't remember the actual dialogue but it made me uncomfortable. .
Which amused me greatly, as my Anders-rival-romance Hawke's immediate response would be "Drown yourself, you twit. I have no intention of dying."
Edit: I can't imagine Fenris eating tacos.

Remember, at the end of the game, he's just starting to realize that he's been poisoning himself with his hatred, and that maybe it's time to move on; he's only just started truly looking towards the future. A few years later, he may have actually made some progress on that. People aren't static, and with Fenris' newfound ability to start thinking about a future for himself instead of constantly focusing on his past . . . well, I can see it. Not for a few years, perhaps, but I can see it. Depending on what happens in the time after the game, at any rate!
Of course, my viewpoint may be coloured by the fact that I adore children, even though I never intend to have any of my own. So I don't have a problem seeing them with children in part because I think it would be absolutely precious.
I do think Fenris would be a very protective father, since family would be extremely important to him, but I'm not sure why that's a really terrible thing? Nor do I see why Fenris would be any less protective of a son than a daughter. I realize there's a stereotypical image in our culture of a father out on the porch with a shotgun threatening his baby girl's boyfriend, and that's what is being called to mind here, but 1) their culture is not ours, 2) were Fenris to go that far, I can see him doing the same darn thing to his son's girlfriend (he knows women aren't all sugar and spice!), or his son's boyfriend, or his daughter's girlfriend

That's the line!! Thank you. I heard it and thought "Oh no you don't" So he'll stay a friend...a distant friend...and my Hawkes will have a restraining order ready just in case.

Fenris: You have an interest in my daughter.
Boy: Yes ser I do.
Fenris: Your staring at my markings.
Boy: I'm sorry ser. It's just that I've never seen anything like them. Where did you get them if you don't mind my asking ser?
Fenris: They were carved into my flesh by a Tevinter Magister in a ritual that I only remember because of the unspeakable agony it inflicted upon me.
Boy: (quietly) I...I'm sorry ser, I didn't know that they caused you that much pain. W-what happened to the Magister?
Fenris: I tore his throat out with my bare hands.
Boy: Um...I just remembered that I had something I had to do at home. If you excuse me. (Walks out the door and starts running away)
Daughter: Papa, did you tell him the 'I killed a man with my bare hands' story?
Fenris: I did no such thing. He just ran off.
Daughter: (sighs) Of course he did.

I managed to romance Anders once. But the whole time, I felt the same as you both, but with the additional experience of Fenris being more hot than usual and suddenly giving me cute screenshot opportunities (such as Fenris looking like he's holding my character's hand) that I had to stop and start a new playthrough with Serah Hawke, my warrior, as an apology to Fenris. It was like Fenris knew what I was going to do in that playthrough and so he decided that he had to stop it before it was too late. I also had the weird feeling of cheating on Fenris. I wasn't even with him in game, and yet I felt I was... I shall never romance Anders again.

The best thing about this is that I can actually hear Fenris say all those things so calmly and with hardly any expression!

On another note. After going though DA2 with what is now a total of ten Hawkes I find myself wanting to have Hawke as a party member in whatever the next DA game is. There's quite a bit that I want to know about Hawke's backstory and character that just can't be done with him/her as the PC. With the personality based on dialogue and the fact that the game tracks all of your major decisions I think this would be entirely possible.
I am in complete agreement! I would love to have Hawke as an NPC companion in DA3. It seems like such a thing would be more possible to pull off with Hawke than with the DAO Warden.
Back on the Fenris topic, I don't think my particular head canon Hawke/Fenris would make very good parents. In fact, they'd pretty much be the worst parents ever. But I like to think they'd be fun uncles for some of Bethany's kids.

Why reload, though? Why not just set him straigt and continue on? It's far more compelling for your character to learn something and change than just pretend it never happened, imo.

I guess that's why he's alongside Fenris in my favorite DA2 romances(still prefer Fenris, but love Anders too). I don't mind the needyness. I have an automatic response to try and help and protect Anders.Victia wrote...

yep... that pretty much takes care of that.

Someone mentioned that slave owners had a financial investment in their slaves , and would perhaps care for them better than say Varania encountered as a free elf.
I would suggest a malady I have seen many times in a real life society. Amish have an investment in thier horses [ work animals ] yet many treat them with less regard than a chicken that has stopped laying. I have literally seen a horse collapse and continue to be whipped without regards to its death throes. { unfortunately in this particular zone animal abuse laws did not seem to be applicable to the sect of Amish outside of most state legislations sorta akin to Tevinters...]
that was my point tbh that Tevinter Magisters shoudl seem to have some sort of econmic logic towards feeding their slaves, but I doubt it was anything nice like a cot and 3 hots a day . Did not the southern slaves learn to cook vittles off the left over entrails and parts of animals that the owners didnt deem as edible?
I guess I am jaded to the notion that absolute power would make someone considerate. I think there were many oppurtunities for cruelty in Tevinter society jsut becuz there was no value on humanity as a whole. they could breed slaves easily and so have a ready made supply, who cares if one dies?
I do agree that some would have become valuable by training/skill to delibertly kill in an act of petty rage. but it was not freedom.
Varania might not be grateful but she was given a gift. A chance for hope and a better life. I think to anyone enslaved the ideal of freedom doesnt always carry the same picture as the " reality" the struggles for rent/food etc.
I can understand the newness thrust upon his family as in a sink or swim situation but damn I just cant believe her life was SOOO atrocius that being a slave was a better outcome to her. Even if she sold herself for coin/ stole whatever, she wasnt forced or beaten into submission like she might have been as a slave, being bred like cattle, for offspring .
I cant see her point when she berated Fenris in the hangman. I have no mercy lol .
sorry for the ranting, OOO and I too think it is cute for Fenris to be a poppa, but I dont really see that in the close future [ forgoing unplanned PG.] they have issues and Im a firm believer that evrey couple needs time to themselves, A child thrust upon them while they struggle thru emotional burdens/ survival/ residential issues makes any real sense. Didnt Wynne suggest there is a birthcontrol available in thedas ? I think I see my snarky practical Hawke taking those to permit her a moments breath to enjoy their LI and settle their life choices following the Kirkwall insanity aftermath.
