I luv the funny prompts you all posted. Doc is a master of wit me thinks!

Just a thought, I loved the option of playing the other races, in DAO and loved the non human races the most . At first I was annoyed with the lack of choice on the races, but then it kinda made sense to me [ I mean aside from the cheaper game making costs teehee]
Becuz Elves are treated as lesser citizens. As a GW the elven would have been granted more respect/accord, than most other residents even on the socio/economic status. I remember Lia's pop in DA2 saying that despite his money, he was still just an elf . So even if Hawke could gain a fortune, I dont see them being socally accepted or granted any respect extraordinary .. hence I dont see how the viscount or any other would have come to depend on Hawke.
The hoity-toity nobles in hightown barely tolerate a rich human Hawke til she saves their bacon so to speak. They tolerate Fenris thru intimidation/fear and rumors of beign favored by the the champion, [ if im not mistaken].
So I was just wondering... what do you all think? Probably a logical reason why the human race was chosen ? just curious!

The option to play an elf would be entirely logical and more dramatic (though Your Mileage May Vary). The Viscount only turned to Hawke originally because the Arishok specifically asked for him/her. He needed help with dealing with the Qunari. Hawke could help. Afterwards, Hawke was the Champion of Kirkwall for taking care of the Qunari problem. Elf or Human, that's still a pretty big achievement.

How hard would it be to make alternate dialogue/place Gamlen's house's entrance in the Alienage/fix models?

It's quite simple to imagine, I'd think.
Human: Amell family.
Elf: Amell family that is one of the few surviving Elven nobility, OR Surana family that is one of the few surviving Elven nobility.
In fact the former is what I'm doing for my Elf!Hawke DA2 story.
I think the only reason elf PCs were cut was because of how rushed DA2 was.

If given a bit of time I could probably come up with a plausible story for Dwarven PCs too, BUT I think they would've been cut anyways (since it seems that Malcolm Hawke MUST be an apostate. :P)

I just hope we get to play elves in DA3. Elven PCs are always so much more satisfying to me then human ones.

ALSO; Angry!Fenris! D: xD

I liked Orsino to the point where he became a Harvester. I was just like "DUDE WE WERE WINNING WTF WHY ARE YOU ATTACKING _ME_?" It was just rather inconsistent and put me off. I also liked his voice acting (especially when he was flirting a little with my Hawke) which just made it all the harder.

I admit, if Meredith told me "Hey! You! Join our side! Now!" at that point, I would've done it if only because I have such a deep respect for her. I'm also a little scared of her too.

I'm also an Orsino fan but on the subject of Meredith... I dunno, there's this one bit that contextually makes her seem like a nasty piece of work:
When she's trying to get you to hunt down mages my MageHawke refused, then she threatened to send him to the circle so he had to agree....
Then she has you talk to her tranquil assistant.
Just *shudder* she's just threatened to send you to the circle if you don't jump when she tells you to and then forces you to interact with a tranquil, it seemed just to drive home the "I own you, I can do this to you." that is nasty
It certainly cemented my Hawke's hate for her and view that she was a complete monster and actually drove him to want to help Anders more if the circle mages had to put up with that sort of control through fear every day

Edit: On the subject of non-human NPCs I'm always going to be of the opinion "Why would I want to play a human in a fantasy game?" if there are interesting non-human races I want to play as them, I have to play as a human in just about everything else and a change of pace is very welcomed.
If they're going to stick us with a human for a whole game I'm with a bunch of people who think the next game should force one race but this time one that isn't human. Have a bunch of games each from a diferent racial perspective since they've worked to build up these different cultures it would be far more satisfying to explore them from the inside then to play a human trying to understand something they're never going to experiance or live through.
A whole DA game that hinged on the main character being a City Elf could be very powerful (and also dwarves! I miss the lady dwarves and am very dissapointed they were nowhere to be seen in DA2)

I agree with it all, but the bolded parts I have to go YAY.
I wouldn't mind being forced to play an elf or a dwarf.

And that's why I think an elf Hawke would be awesome. You go from being not just a refugee, but an elven refugee in a land where elves are oppressed, to becoming one of the most powerful figures in the known world.

Varric agrees wholeheartedly with that last statement. :wizard:

O I totally agree, whenever I have the option in other games to be any other fantasy race, I choose it. But that thought about the social/economic /racial prejuidism against the elves kinda made me just ponder that.
Im still a lil mortified over the elven design tbh, but I would prolly play them again. They look disproportionate [ hydro-cephalic, sway backed and totally a rip off of grey men crossed with N'avi]. I guess I too am a tolkien at heart. I loved that elven defination. apart from rare few in da2... I missed it :( ty for responses!

I agree about the DA2 elf design being... awkward, the female models especially made me want to gouge my eyes out when I first started playing. The only two elves that I thought managed to work the new look were Fenris and Orsino. Orsino had robes that made the body shape not look as out of proportion and Fenris is just... wow, I don't know, maybe it's his weird posture coupled with the time spent on his face and the way his armor is designed around his shoulders.
In my opinion they need to scale it back somewhere between the DA:O look and the DA2 one. (I gotta say I loved playing a shortie male elf in DA:O Mahariel may only come up to a human males chin but he could still intimidate them into wetting themselves)
Speaking of Fenris and his rockin' bod' here's some battle screen caps I managed to get a while ago

MASSIVE POST WITH LOTS OF LINKS-- Incoming!! (And when I say "massive", I mean massive)

 MRC'S TS2 LEGACY REPORT -- GEN-F & THE HAWKE FAMILY

(Grr... this is my second time actually typing this out...)

OK, so here I am with updates-- I come with lots of goodies today (Yay, lots of Child!Fenris & Child!Marian-- together in the same screen though? You'll have to see... ;))

Today was one of my favorite days with the Legacy-- I love having my own pictures of the family on the wall, and so every generation has a "Family Photo Day" where I use a camera Career Reward that I got generations ago to take photos of the family and the kids to decorate the house. It's a big thing (to me), I actually do a set for the Legacy House and use pose boxes, boolprop snapobjectstogrid false, boolprop allow45degreeangleofrotation true, and moveobjects on to make sure everything is right and looks good (it takes a while for me to set them up how I like, and even then, I don't always get the result I wanted). Family pictures are usually taken by a random passerby that I temporarily take control of via cheat codes.

On top of doing Gen-F, I also did the Hawkes (who I'm showing first because I totally forgot to take pictures of Bethany and Carver aging up-- and then did the same thing with Fire and Feanor of the Legacy House... :crying:)

Note that these are all pictures of pictures (exception to one screen from the Legacy House).

Hawke Family:
-- Family Photo
-- A cute photo of Bethany and Marian
-- The "Heir Wall" (Individual portraits of the kids on one wall)

The Legacy House:
-- Family Photo (I'm tempted to re-do it simply because Fenris is completely buried in the back)
-- A screen of Fenris and Fire while I was setting up
-- The Heir Wall
-- All three kids together <---> Close-up Version

After I did all of those, I then concentrated on the Legacy House...

-- Feanor and Fenris hugging
-- Fire and Fenris hugging (while Fire's hair is going through Fenris's face partially)
-- Fenris cheering on Fire as she plays her violin fiddle.
-- Fenris... Smustling on the table! :P (I cheated and used moveobjects on, put him on the glass tray, and then put the glass tray on the table-- but it was so worth it!)
-- The Amazing Sync of Fenris and Ezio (Smustle is synced, but I just liked this one )
-- Fenris and his teddy bear (if he could take it to school, he probably would)
-- A cute smile!
-- Two shots of Fenris intensely "reciting poetry". [1] and [2]
-- Huzzah! Fenris got an A+ in school! So proud!
-- "Rawr!"
-- Playing fetch with a wolf... Go Fenris!
-- "Hey! No pictures!"

But if I couldn't take pictures-- I couldn't have *finally* gotten these. Fire actually brought home her "new friend", Marian Hawke, from school. I actually, when she first came, had no chance for Marian or Fenris to interact with each other as I had Fenris doing his homework, but I did get Marian and Fire enough relationship points to be friends. The next day, after school, I had Fire go invite Marian over and then sent her to work on her homework. Fenris finished his homework, literally, just as Marian showed up.

So...

-- Fenris and Marian Hawke first meet
-- Marian makes Fenris laugh
-- Fenris and Marian have a snowball fight-- and don't be fooled, these kids are mean and have amazing aim. Headshots for both sides (Fenris gets headshot by Marian) (Marian gets headshot by Fenris). Luckily, they get along very well!

I got them to friends rather quickly.
-- Take a guess who he just got off the phone with. :D

And after a couple of Sim days, they did this. And I burst into a "D'awww! THAT IS SO DAMN CUTE!" I love when kids in TS2 are "classic" dancing together, and this melted my heart (and got Fenris and Marian up to Best Friends).
-- Twirl!

So, today's bonus shots include:

-- Ezio, Merle (the mother of Gen-F and a freak dark elf with green eyes), and Malcolm Hawke slap dancing in sync.
-- Marian, Bethany, and Carver Hawke's wall of drawings (Carver drew all the llamas, ).
-- Feanor punching Fenris in the arm.
-- A cute shot of Fenris when he was singing (before he went to reciting poetry)
-- Ezio looks like a retard when he goes to work.
-- Fenris and in his pajamas and dinosaur feet slippers-- aren't they so cute?!

And I also have gifs that I made from little video snippets I took-- mainly of Fenris dancing the smustle (Sorry for bad quality).

Family Dancing:

Fenris Smustle I:

Fenris Smustle II (His skin looks odd in this one):

And, the best one:

D'awwwwwwwwww!

OK, so one more thing: Fenris is now three days off from becoming a teenager, and I need help deciding on an aspiration for him before this happens.

There is: Pleasure (Wants to go out dancing, dining, and do lots of things Downtown most the time. Like to party.), Fortune (Money, money, money!), Romance (Wants to basically be in love with like... 10 other Sims at the same time and LOVES to get "funky" with them most the time), Family (Want to fall in love, get married, have kids, and get old with spouse), Knowledge (Want to max skills, get abducted by aliens, see ghosts, etc), and Popularity (pretty much, wants have as many friends as possible. Usually likes parties, if I remember correctly).

Since I have all the expansions, note I can also have a secondary aspiration.
Feel free to suggest, I need the help deciding (else it will fall to a random dice roll, which could get bad results).

[/End TS2 splurge] =]

Omg overload! Babysitting prompts had me crackin up. Love your sims stuff as always mrc. At work but brainstorming a prompt. Want to get home.

Also to pipe in about orsino/Meredith. I actually respect meredith a lot before she goes nuts. Orsino, however is great until the end when he just looses hope. I facepalm and just go "whyyyy?!" Like everyone else. He reminds me of denethor from lotr.

I got attached to meredith when I heard her dialogue about her sister. I could see where she was coming from, but the idol just kills her psyche that u just want to strangle her for being so immovable and blind. Still, I find her story tragic in her heart she wanted to do the right thing.

This.

It's actually why I do side with the Templars towards the end of the game-- I feel bad for Meredith. Her story fits in with my typical (headcanon) mage!Hawke's fear and reasoning for sending other mages to the Circle-- my Hawke simply knows that one slight push by a demon, and a mage could be perpetually screwed. Which is why I'm a Circle, or "all mages go live in a cave in the wild far away from society" person.

And thank you!

You could.

Of course, you probably wouldn't get killed as quickly as me. If he saw who his Sim's grandfather was... well, I'd better hope I'd be fast enough to open the window, pop out the screen, and jump before getting murdered.

If fenris were real there would have to be slavery, tevinter, and a mysterious lyrium ritual. Otherwise he would be a severely abused and forcefully scarred transient who kills, steals, and lives in abandoned places to survive being caught by his abusers. If he had the same looks and personality though I would totally love him still, lmao. Though having no cops after you for killing is a big plus in kirkwall.

My brain now wanders to fenris in a suit with scars instead of lyrium holding a gun in a holster on his back that says "blade of mercy." This might be draw worthy 0.0

Oh, those? Those burned up not too long after you put them in. They put off all these pretty red sparks, and I was like, "Look, Independence Day came early!"

Then it filled the oven with this Maker-awful stench and it wasn't so entertaining anymore.

I forgot to yell you-- so sorry!

Dang im already doing a fenart finished the lineart yesterday but I will have to wait till one is done to start another. Bleh!

My head is running away with modern fenris, lmao. Would he be a mercenary? Hired gun or just some lone transient going from place to place with his gun and skill to help him survive.

Aaaaand, the urge to write a Modern DA2 story has increased by 150. Damn. Elf!Hawke or Modern!Thedas? WHAT TO CHOOSE? D:
Of course I could do both....

I could make it work...get rid of cars, make guns an oddity (and, of course, make Bianca a BFG), the city guards/cops are utter morons, Reno 911-style...
Yes. Yes, I could do this.
D-D is going attempt this. You should probably fear for what remains of her sanity. :P

(From this on in, D-D is no longer being serious)
Varric: Youngest son of the executive of Walmart.
Fenris: Hired gun-turned-companion when you help him take down bounty hunters sent from his former 'employer'
Merrill: Born a hippy, betrays her tree-hugging, vegetarian lifestyle to try out city-life
Isabela: Formerly manned a cruise ship for sex addicts, doing smuggling on the down-low. Crashed her ship during a smuggling job and lost her employer's very valuable cargo.
Anders: Formerly in a secret society of army soldier, nicknamed 'The Wardens,' deserted and slowly went insane
Sebastian: Son of the Mayor of Starkhaven; became a monk, but now searches for revenge for his family's violent murder.

Did I forget anyone?

Aveline, chief of police Just keeping the peace
Elthina,  Arch Bishop with serious political ties and influence
Meredith, Head of Professional Mercenary group, or National Guard (some sort of military, maybe Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms).  Looking for an excuse to declare marshal law and take over
Cullen, Meredith's first leuitenant
Orsino, Head of local anti-war activist group, trying to ensure Meredith does not create a police state
Viscount Dumar, Mayor politically weak, son constantly making "news"
Arishok, Ambassador to some highly agressive countryopressive regime. Stranded due to political coup, fanatically military head of the state religion

Okay, some elses turn.

Edit:

Hawke's family moved to the city after losing everything in either a tornado, hurricane, earthquake, volcanic eruption, or tsunami. (take your pick).  Hawke's family is one of hundreds of families fleeing the ongoing devestation.  I'm thinking volcanic eruption, kind of like happend in the carribean.  It left most of the island unihabitable, and erupted for a few years.  I think it's settled down now.  Hawke's father was a fugitive because of his connections to drug dealers? he was suspected of participatingviolent anti-war activity (a member of Orsino's group) and fled the city trying to avoid pursuit fom federal authoritieis (would fit with Meredith ATF story line).  He fell in love and married a young socialite from a well placed family.  They fled to said volcanic island to raise a family.

Let's try playing DA2 again.

Omg.. look what I did >.< Trololol

Also,

(Hawke finishes off the last of the thugs with a knife to the gut, only the leader remains, calling for his other man... suddenly a loud gunshot is heard.. the man stumbles out, bleeding profusely from a large bullethole in his chest)

Fenris: your men are dead and your trap has failed. I suggest running while you still can.
Captain: your going nowhere, slave.
fenris: im not a slave! *brings up gun point blank to guys chest and shoots fist size hole through heart*
Hawke: damn, hate to meet you in a dark alley... wait... (realizes she is in a dark alley...) hi?
