My original thought was "hell yeah, they're awesome," but part of what would have made a Nate romance so awesome was that it was with the Warden, not random other person not involved with the Howes. It could have been a really, really deep romance (deeper than anything that already exists, imho). Guess that's a missed chance only fanfiction can solve.Maera Imrov wrote...
Someone was telling me there were floating rumors of Nathaniel or Anders, but I've not really looked into that. Either of them would be okay, though I'd prefer Nate to Anders in that case.
I agree with the dwarf statement, in that I wouldn't romance one any time soon. If Varric was a human, but everything else was the same, I'd probably hit that, though. Love his look and personality. Just not into guys shorter than me, heh.
Am I the only one who finds Gaider's mini script freakin' awesome? That's a direct insight into the character from the writer himself. This will keep the fangirls busy for weeks.
As for accents ... I can see him with a Russian, German, or Middle Eastern accent. When I think of what "tevinter" could be, it would be one of those places in my mind. :3 Not that he has to strickly conform to that ... Ah, I'm trying my best!

On the subject of accents, I can't wait to hear the accent. Accents are sexy!

Wakka from Final Fantasy X is voiced by John DiMaggio and is all around grating and awful to listen to. It was a bad joke.

He's probably most famous for voicing Bender, my initial post wasn't exactly serious.

So not Spanish (Antiva), French (Orlais), English (RP)(Ferelden), Welsh (Dalish), or whatever Cassandra's is (Russian?) (Nevarra).
German? Scottish? Irish? Italian? Will they stick to Europe?
I guess the next step would be to assume it IS one of the above (or a different one), and see if any particular names jump to the surface right away.

Well, I think the majority opinion is that Isabela is not, indeed, pretty, although that somehow makes me like her more. Girl needs love.
I'm just saying, I can see where the intention is that she's pretty, and if I judge outside of my own convention, it's pretty clear. "Objectively" I see that she is meant to be attractive. Maybe the thong is giving it away.

Not that weird. You can still judge Varric by "human" standards. Garrus is so very not human that whether he's good looking is irrelevant. At least that's how I see the issue.
*jumps to conclusions* We get to touch him!!!David Gaider wrote...
* I wouldn't make too big a deal of his touch-causes-pain thing. It's more of an aversion than actual physical agony. You'll see when you play, though honestly he doesn't dwell on it at all. It's not central to his story.

It's interesting that the accent is what will lead us to the name. Presumably it won't be something we've heard before, since he's from a country whose population we've yet to meet.

Scottish.
Madame Crimsynn: Approves (+10)
Irish
Madame Crimsynn: Approves (+50)
I could do German too. But I would be much, much, much more pleased if it were Irish.

Homos = fine.
Ugly people = not in this lifetime.

What if they are homosexual and ugly?

Dave of Canada wrote...
I don't really view Varric as ugly, if anything he's a sexy dwarf. People just hate that he's not the standard Bioware model mold of a LI.
David Gaider wrote...
* Regardless of what his story involves, I'm sure you'll find Fenris fun. Just like Varric. Let's all just get along and not stake out imaginary territory, shall we? That would be swell.

* Fenris has an accent. It's a bit unusual, but I'm not going to say what it is or you're likely to pinpoint his VA in about 30 seconds. And we can't have that.
Tevinter = latin, right? So italiano?
They could have changed it but it's a nice, educated guess to narrow it down.
Maria Caliban wrote...
For Tevinter, I'd expect Italian. Maybe one of the more unusual eastern European accents like Tali's VA has.
Hm. I gotta think on this one. Gotta hock up a list of VA's.
Cam Clarke. YEAH SKY.
