Depends if he was mentally dominated as well a simply physically dominated. Like mind control. If he was, I can see that scenario. If he isn't then if I was his master I wouldn't put him into a scenario in which he could simply turn on me at will (think the Irish switching sides in Braveheart). I mean, they could accomplish that through blackmail, such as the "Orlesian method" of keeping nobles' family members hostage in Awakening.



But if I had to guess - and boy is it a guess - I'd say he probably wasn't used on his own people. At least not exclusively, unless he was being mind controlled, or had a reason to hate them, or something that would change the situation dramatically.

Anyway, his eyes look a little off... Not the color per se, but the shape of the pupil in the iris. It looks very wolfish to me.

I don't think that beating him up would be enough to bend him to the master's will. I’d guess that he was also mind controlled, as you mentioned. Perhaps it was more along the ways of installing certain blockades into his mind that prevented him from disobeying orders or perhaps the lyrium tattoos have something to do with that.

 

Then again, if he has no memories, I can imagine how he could at first accept his fate. He’d have no reason not to besides wanting to live free. The defiance in his behavior and the will to break free would probably be born later, after all the experiments and things he had to be forced into.

 

This speculation is fun. I love trying to figure characters out based on their past.

Yeah. I honestly don't want the real implications of the whole thing. Because Fenris would either hate sex or be like Zevran probably.

I just like the idea of a really possessive woman hunting him down across the continent. I find it humorous, but because of the darker and edgier tone of Dragon Age it wouldn't come across as funny in-game.

I'm not buying the dead ex thing. Being a slave, would he have time for such things? Or even be allowed? I mean yeah, the whole forbidden love thing..but...*yawn*. It's been done to death. Although, it is a Bioware game, so there *has* to be some party member with Carth Syndrome.

We don't know how long he was enslaved, or what he was used for...the blurb on his page makes it sound like he was used as a weapon.  Zevran was raised in a ****house, and then as a Crow, where the art of seduction was part of his training.  Fenris may be very different, depending on the circumstances.

I doubt Fenris would be very much like Zevran, just because the comparisons would be annoying to the writers.

He strikes me as a person that was forced to obey, so if he needed to "serve" his mistress, he would serve her, there wouldn't be any emotional connection (good or bad), it would just be him doing his duty.

So after he is free he will want to have an emotional connection. But he will be wary because he doesn't want to be used.

He grew up in a wh*rehouse and said he learned some of his skills there (before the age of 7 ), plus he was expected to use sex in his assassin trade.  While not prostitution, it's pretty close.

Much as I like Zevran, I'm hoping new guy is not Zevran 2.0.  He's wavering a leeetle close at this point.

The Crows taught him to "appreciate" both genders and he grew up in a wh*re house and during your romance scenes he offers to teach you a massage he learned while in the wh*re house.
