I hope he doesn't have a Texas draw or some other southern US accent (no offense to the south part of the US)...

Fenris: Yawl stop staring at this here lyrium tattoo ya hear.

*shudder*

You know, you'd probably get over the accent if he starts calling everyone nicknames like "Freckles" :)

If he's got a Tevinter aka supposedly Italian accent, maybe it's Roger Craig Smith doing something like Ezio...

For some reason "unusual accent" doesn't make me think it's Italian, though. I think of accents like Irish, Welsh, Slavic or even South African (like was mentioned earlier :) ) when I hear 'unusual'.

My guess as to the VA isn't any good, but after casually browsing during Monday Night Football and not coming up with a solid guess - it'll do:

Christopher Lambert.

Based only on the "unusual accent" and "famous enough to be requested."

/it's a kind of magic

Hey, no, that's Varric's thing. Freckles, Stretch, Chuckles, etc. :)

I still think it's Mads Mikkelsen.

Don't feel bad. I only recognize Blum (hoping this is a "NO") and Freeman.

My guess to who's Fenny's VA: seeing how it's an unusual accent, they probably went to the nearest Edmonton bar and grabbed the first Newf they found (having never lived in Edmonton, Im figuring the Newf quotient is somewhat similar to Yellowknife, NWT, which has a disordinate amount of Newfs for some reason :)

For some reason when I was trying to think of actors with Eastern European accents and "famous enough to be requested", the first name I came up with was Goran Visnjic.

I like his voice because it's got that deep quality to it, comparable to Cillian Murphy's voice. Don't think he's the video game character type, though...

After DA:O and Awakenings, I don't think that it would be Blum...His voice is too "dwarfy" (for lack of a better term) for Fen, with Blum doing Oggie and Gorim

Christopher Lambert is Connor MacLeod in Highlander.

I gotta say, I'm going with something similar to the Mads Mikkelsen suggestion. I had to look that one up! My first thought was something like Viggo Mortensen but I don't know any actors who'd do VO work along those lines. Scandanavian would be very interesting. I don't see it being German or Russian. I hope not Italian. I've had enough of that with AC. I really don't see an accent as unique as Gaider implied being Scottish or Irish (unfortunately).

I wonder if Adrian Paul needs some work :)

If we're talking Scottish accents, I would LOVE to have a DA game with Craig Ferguson in it!

^ Anything Scandinavian would be 'unique' imo, and would make sense with the Fenris mythology connection perhaps?

Le gasp, maybe it's Alexander Skarsgaard voicing Fenris! *teehee*

None are springing to mind that aren't American or British.

Thinking... thinking...

Buffy was oh-so-very-American sounding with a majority of the main characters (exception to Giles, who was very British). I couldn't name one off the top of my head that was unique.

Fenris: I do not look like him.

Hawke: Well, you have lighter hair with darker skin.

Fenris: My skin is not dark.

Isabela: And you're an elf! All you elves look alike to me.

Fenris: That's ridiculous.

Isabela: Where it counts, anyhow.

FenrisDo I want to even ask what that means?

Varric: I wouldn't.

Hawke: Of course you would.

Varric: It's true. I'm a weak, weak man.

XD *laughs* I heart you, David Gaider, I do.

Which aren't distinctive enough to warrant us instantly "getting" who it must be.

I'm actually only just watching Buffy for the first time as of...a week ago, I'd say, and Spike also has a British accent. Angel was supposed to be Irish, although he doesn't have the accent anymore.

Granted, that guessing in 30 seconds line might be a reference to success in guessing Varric's - and Mr. Bloom isn't famous.

The fact he was requested by name though... that's still the most intriguing bit of info.
