Has anyone played the DLC pre-end game? Is there any difference?
I did it from Act 1. It's a bit tougher here. I started this right before Shepherding Wolves (near the end) and got a couple of extra levels. Also, instead of Varric telling Garvis, "She's no virgin."; Varric says, "I wouldn't recommend it. Blood's full of diseases and stuff." (paraphrase) You can also get rivalry and friendship points. I'll finish this play through and then run another and start from Act 2 to see how this goes.
Oh yeah, I figure next PT I'll do it late in Act 1, most likely, or early Act 2. I couldn't handle not having played the DLC on Canon Hawke, and I think I might be able to go back and restart Legacy if they do patch things.
I did get 1 bit that *I* thought was kinda cool - and YMMV on this...
*** Potential SPOILER *** =-scroll fast to avoid) --
I ditched Anders when we first got sealed in and replaced him with Sebastian for a Fenris/Hawke/Varric/Seb rogue's gallery. After the last demon is killed (2nd level of the prison), Fenris asked about what it was like to hear from Hawke's father again. I just thought in context it was pretty sweet, but that's because it also fit perfectly with head!canon.
**** END POTENTIAL SPOILER ***
I figure I will take Anders for the full run at some point, because I am a sucker for Grey Warden lore and I want his take on it as an active Warden. But...for now, the Rogue's gallery plus DPS-y Fenris is doing fine.

My current is a post-save with Fenris/Bethany/Varric, again good old banter with all of them but no LI stuff.
So is it confirmed that all LI banter works? Or is it just Fenris?

As far as I know it's just Fenris.

Lizzbee, you boggle my mind. Is there anything at all you like about the game outside of Fenris? The combat isn't different then any other part of the game, except stuff doesn't explode and the waves are more consistent and less "jump-off-roof"..ee.
Aww, that's sweet of you to care about my opinion
For the record, there are two things I can't stand about DA2:
1) The combat and recycled environments
2) Varric (and yes, I remember the three-to-four-page flame-fest that happened the last time I said I wasn't fond of him)
Which leaves everything else for me to like. Legacy is worse than core DA2 for the flinging, flying, bulldozer attacks. It should be called Faceplant instead. Why it irks me is simple-- I like everything else about the DLC. The conversations, the plot, the additional companion banters. But the endless dirt-kissing, especially in that underground cave level, is annoying enough that I still haven't finished the DLC yet three days after purchase. Fenris mooshiness would give me incentive to grind through it anyway.

How did you get malcom to come to kirkwall? Isn't he supposed to be dead?
Hawke's imagination, she did ask what Malcolm would say if he was in Kirkwall now.
On another note, if you have Sebastian and Fenris in your Legacy party, and have Rivalry with Fenris, one of the banters ends with Hawke saying "Alright, Magisters are evil. We get it."

I hope they fix the romance, but I still enjoyed this DLC.
ETA: Question. Do we know roughly how old the Hawke kids were when Malcolm died? (Assuming we don't learn otherwise in some future DLC of course!) Not directly Fenris related except that it does potentially change Aniya's backstory a little, with content in Legacy taken into account as well.
Thanks!

So the party banter where Varric talks to Fenris about Isabela, hinting at them two getting together, does that happen if you are romancing Fenris?
It shouldn't that I'm aware of. If you're referring to Legacy, it hasn't so far on a post-make-up act 3 import. I've heard them banter about cards, but not about Isabella. (And, I did hear Anders refer to Hawke in one of the banters with Fenris, so that one appears to be working at least.)

Yes in Legacy, sorry. Ok I was really hoping my romanced Fenris wouldn't have that dialogue or I might have had to go back and let the Arishok have Isabel lol.
Heh, oh yeah. I'd be completely grumpy.

I'm guessing it is universal otherwise I would see more "I got the banter!" posts. Puzzling. Hope we get some kind of answer soon. I'm loving playing with my carver/bethany and the banter between siblings. I think I only have one playthrough where I kept Seb so I'm going to have to bring him along next.
This DLC might have just inspired me to do another complete playthrough as well. I'm so addicted. Maker HELP me. Besides at this point I don't think I can possibly have enough playthroughs to get all the banters, lmao. I still have to save a fenmance as well.

So...yeah, I liked that. It was, indeed, satisfying. It would have been more so if Fenris's romance stuff was working, but I still think this DLC was very good. Definitely worth the money for a couple to a few hours of fun (And I still managed to miss at least 1 piece of armor).

It was three years prior to the Blight, so Bethany and Carver would have been fifteen, as they're 18 when the Blight occurs. I'm still working on a playthrough of Legacy in Act II, but in a Act III playthrough, they say it was 30 years before that Malcolm Hawke reinforced the seals, and we know he did it to be able to see Leandra and baby Hawke again, so going by that Hawke is 30 in Act III, making him/her 5 years older than Bethany/Carver and thus 20 when Malcolm died . . . of course, they could say the same thing when played in Act I and II, idk yet, and if they do, I'll be cranky. >_>

So have we determined if this romance bug thing is across all platforms? I know they posted in the Xbox thread but I was wondering if PC and Playstation3 have the same bug.

I'm guessing it's across platforms. I haven't seen any confirmation anywhere that anyone's actually gotten the banter. And, I was waffling on starting a new playthrough before I got Legacy. I'm not waffling anymore.

Honestly, I'll be fairly shocked if it ever gets fixed. Given how much bugged dialogue still remains in DA:O and DA2 after all this time.

Honestly, I'm more disappointed that I didn't see it and may not, shy of YouTube. It doesn't affect overall head!canon, at least for Aniya, so I'm good, and I'm willing to see if they do fix it before I get too cranky. If a modder fixes it, I would consider getting the PC version simply because the community has more control over stuff like this, but I'd really rather not if I can help it. Hence my lamenting about consoles not having this option.
Let's hope they patch it, though. It sounds like they are looking at other issues, and if this is a quick fix (assuming it's a buggy script or something relatively small in scope), maybe they will sneak it in. That'd be cool. And maybe I'm too much of an optimist, but it's gotten me places in life I wouldn't have gotten to otherwise.
ETA: Has anyone tried it with a 'during the gap' save? IE after That Night but before making up in Act 3?

I have tried it with a 'during the gap' save and it didn't trigger.
Also, not sure if this portion of your reply was directed at me, but I'm not feeling 'cranky' about it, and I didn't mean for my comment to come across that way. I'm a bit disappointed, but I still love the DLC and have replayed it bunches of times.
My point was simply that, from past history, it seems that dialogue bug fixes tend to be toward the very bottom of Bioware's fix list. If they do patch it, I'll be thrilled, but I am not going to hold my breath and plan to just enjoy the DLC as it stands.
