I hear that Brian Blessed is actually Fenris' voice actor. That's what I've heard on the road anyhow. Take it for what it is.

He voices everybody in DA2.

Are there any men in Josh Wedon shows with notable accents?

Thinking... thinking...

Buffy was oh-so-very-American sounding with a majority of the main characters (exception to Giles, who was very British). I couldn't name one off the top of my head that was unique.

I'm actually only just watching Buffy for the first time as of...a week ago, I'd say, and Spike also has a British accent. Angel was supposed to be Irish, although he doesn't have the accent anymore.

Someone (earlier) said Marsters (Spike) wouldn't be all too crazy a theory for the VA. But now we know the accent is "unique", which basically makes it sort of a crushed idea.

Am I behind on everything ever? I recognize almost none of the named potentials!

Don't feel bad. I only recognize Blum (hoping this is a "NO") and Freeman.

After DA:O and Awakenings, I don't think that it would be Blum...His voice is too "dwarfy" (for lack of a better term) for Fen, with Blum doing Oggie and Gorim

While I wouldnt want Blum as Fen's VA, have you heard Blum do Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop?
It doesnt really sound the same at all. I actually prefer him as Spike.

As for accents ... I can see him with a Russian, German, or Middle Eastern accent. When I think of what "tevinter" could be, it would be one of those places in my mind. :3 Not that he has to strickly conform to that ... Ah, I'm trying my best!

[delurk]
A middle eastern accent was the first thing to pop into my head when trying to envision who he'd sound like. After doing some rounds of YouTubing as a cure for boredom, I came across this and tried convincing myself he'd sound just as delicious as the silver fox who plays the father. Mmm...

Hm, the only VA I can think of off the top of my head that I'd be able to identify within 30 seconds of hearing his voice would be Cam Clarke. Man, he was awesome as Sky in Jade Empire and continues to hold a special place in my heart as the voice for Leonardo in the original TMNT animated series. If the VA is Clarke and Fenris turns out to be an LI, then I think this would be the second romanceable character he's done for Bioware since Sky.

You know, the identity of his VA has got me wondering if the VA's natural accent is what we hear or no. For example, Clarke voiced several characters in Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood with an Italian accent, yet he is not Italian himself. That may help us narrow down possible VA's, even if we don't know what kind of accent Fenris has.

Must. Keep. Pondering.

Boreanaz can do a... er... 'interesting' Irish.

I think I'd have to permanently bench poor Fen if the alternative meant listening to that accent for hours on end. *shudder*

@ACWolfe: I can't hear Cam Clarke without thinking of shirtless men brawling on top of a bipedal tank. MGS was my first Cam Clarke experience and the ham is strong with that one.

I like the idea of a Middle Eastern accent as well, the question is what part of the Middle East hahah.

Yes.

Or conviently just turn off the speakers (or in my case, mute the damn TV. T_T I admit to being a retarded console player).

*swoons*

I've never heard him with his native accent... He must hide it in interviews to sound more American or he's lost it somewhat.

Funny, I can't hear Cam Clarke without thinking of a blue bandanna-clad turtle wielding katanas.

It's Steve Carrell.

Oh, we're making serious guesses? oops. I'm liking the idea of a Scandinavian accent ala Alexander Skaarsgard. It need not be that actor, but if it's something Nordic, that would be cool. Italian would sound too warm and jovial for a stoic sort.

I'm in favor of Mr. Krios' VA voicing Fenris, but the only thing that we would need to know is exactly how old is Fen? Thane's VA has an older sounding voice that might not fit too well with Fenris' younger appearance.

Perhaps Simon Templeman will ride again as a Dragon Age VA, he's got good range beyond his Loghain voice.

Hey, Donovan Hock had a wonderfully put on SA accent, lol.

I am sure they could find something a bit more realistic sounding.

Minxie18 wrote...

Maybe. I find the dialogue and character development pretty great, so. Perhaps he admires it as a writer himself?

*shrugs*

Skarsgaard jnr's voice is lovely, though. I can imagine he could craft a wonderfully broody voice if he wanted to.
