Need a bit of romance help here:

I've done Bitter Pill and the followups. Fenris is wearing the favor (in the sexy alternate outfit mod). Part of my personal canon for this Hawke is that he almost sleeps with Anders after Fenris walks out, but he realizes at the last moment that he can't do it.

The game lets me play out this scenario. I'm worried, though, that proceeding with Anders to the point where he visits the estate will end things with Fenris permanently, even if I don't actually sleep with Anders. Has anyone else tried this?

I also did this on my last play through and Fenris came back to me in Act 3.  It wa a total turn off to hear Anders call Fenris a "beast".  I just couldn't choose the, "I love you." option at that point.

Yeah, my Hawke was pretty furious with Anders for that one, especially since I'd just done Dissent. That's a pivotal quest for me, because Mage!Hawke is extremely unhappy with Fenris for thinking Ella--a girl who looks an awful lot like his dead sister--should go back to the Circle. So he goes to Anders, only to realize that he still loves the prickly elf.

Thanks for all the responses; I'm glad I can get the playthrough to match my headcanon. Also, the Anders kiss is pretty hot.

As for Danarius and giving him back. I can buy into it completely. I know people get irked and want to see him angry and pissed and trying to kill you, to run, to do SOMETHING, but the fact is that it is beyond betrayal.

Basically everyone in the game has that one event that just throws them over the edge. Whether on friendship, rivalry, romance, or not if you betray him to Danarius it is a shattering of his psyche. He let you in, let you help him, trusted you, and in the end he realizes you thought of him as nothing but property to bargain away.

I agree, it would have been unbelievable if he just got angry and wanted to fight and wouldn't have been nearly as good of a scene, that kind of betrayal is soul shattering. They handled that scene very well.

It is the perfect way to handle it, I wouldn't have it any other way, but damn is it heartbreaking.  It's painful to watch because you can see everything Arquen said in his voice and body language during that scene.  The fact that it makes people angry, makes them want him to fight tooth and nail to escape is another testament to the quality of the writing in the game, in my opinion.  The kind of Hawke you'd have to play for that sort of thing to be in character...*Shudder*

One of the things that really gets me about that scene is how Anders seems to take such glee in Hawke giving Fenris away.  By that point in Act III he's gone as crazy as Meredith.  Justice-free Anders was never that cruel and Justice used to get pissed off about Ser Pounce having no freedom, let alone actual people.  This is why humans and fade spirits should under no circumstances share head space. :pinched:

Thats good  question is that Faith is more stable because Wynne herself  is more emotionally stable than Anderrs.  So  Faith remains  Faith  instead of becoming the opposite which I believe would be Nihlism.  Where  Justice is warped by  Anders anger towards  the Circle  thus become  Vengence  in stead of Justice.  Interesting how Anders and Fenris turn out be two sides of them same coin in some ways.

I was joking about Anders being "blue in the face" meaning Justice is coming out, and he's kind of a party pooper.

Well could also be the different circumstances in which the joining took place. Wynne was dead and Faith is still within the Fade is it not. While Anders took Justice in, while he was alive and in the real world. Though I would definitely think their differing mental states also plays a large role.

If i remembering  correct she was dying  and  Faith reached out her...I'll have to go back and look at the dialogue.  She could have been dead  but from what I remember it sounds like she close to dying but not dead yet.

Seriously, it makes me queasy to even think of giving Fenris back to that monster under any circumstance.  I watched the scene on YouTube, and it made me sick to my stomach.  How could anyone do that to another person?  It's one of those things (like giving Branka the anvil -- just the thought of pouring molten lyrium into someone makes me ill) that I have never done in the game and probably never will.  It's just too....evil....to even consider.  How any "human" being could do that to another is beyond me.

I've been RPGing a very long time. No character I've *ever* played would do this in character. I guess I am just predictable, but I tend to play 'good' characters.

Restarted the canon PT - and within 3 minutes I wasn't sorry; it's been months since I've seen the early game. (I was EEKing over deleting all the old save files, but I'm on summer break now and I want to review parts of the early game content anyway since I actually have time to write now).  DAMN but Fenris owns his entrance; I was still squeeing like a Fengirl.  (And I needed that after all the talk of handing him over. :crying:)

I have to confess, I bought a thumb drive to hold canon Wardens and Hawkes.  I was asking myself as I moved them from my hard drive just why in the heck I'd done it, but I just can't delete them.....

I have tried to play a "wicked" character.   Best I can do is mildly antisocial. It's funny, but there are a few things I just can't make myself do in these games, even being "bad."   I go out to the gods of gameplay threads and borrow their builds...I just finished a DW Shadow Duelist....I was truly a superwoman by the end of the game.  Great fun!  I was going to romance Sebastian because someone says you can kiss him in Legacy...but I guess I started the DLC too early...no kiss.  Even at that, I still ended up with the Wolf.  I just couldn't resist.   My sister is a big House fan, so I sent her a pic of Fenris.  She returned with one of Hugh Laurie.  I sent another of Fenris saying, "I'll see your House and raise you a Fenris."  So, she raised with "Eric Northman" from True Blood.  Much as I love the elf, that viking is hard to beat Posted Image

Oh i agree... Giving him back  never, never crossed my mind in my first play through were  My  Hawke and him were somewhat at  odds.I  told him even with Denarious dead he was still a slave cause he could not move forward.  I never once though about giveing  Fenris back to him.

I will have a canon Warrior too - that's snark-o-Hawke (her name is Karin), but since canon overall is rogue...well... :)

It's crazy, and it certainly says that my roleplaying skills are gimped, but I just can't......
I thought about starting a thread of "Things you would never do in Dragon Age" but it's probably already been done.
I can't wait to see how the Collector base thing turns out.

Faith is a much more benign spirit than Justice. The thing with justice is just like Isabela said "It makes since in a  world of ideas but not in our world." Faith turns Wynne into a kindly matriarchal figure, while Justice turns Anders into...real life Anders. On the subject of Wynne I wouldn't have minded if she was in DA2.

Fenris: Avert your eyes witch!

Wynne: Well that isn't  a nice thing to say.

Fenris: You allowed a demon to possess you.

Wynne: I'm not possesed, from the sound of it you're possessed by a demon of grumpiness. Its a good thing that I know how to fix that.

Fenris: And what pray tell is your miracle cure?

Wynne: (hands Fenris a cookie from her bag) Try this. Better?

Fenris: (sighs) Yes.

I can also see Wynne having a conversation about where babies come from with Fenris and/or Merrill if they're in a relationship with Hawke. And her having a "swaying hips" convo with Fenris in a relationship with Hawke (especially female Hawke, because she *definitely* has swaying hips).

And no, I'm not dead. Just extremely busy playing NWN:HotU:whistle:

Fenris(holding up a piece of fabric) What are these?

Wynne: They're socks.

Fenris: How did they end up in my house?

Wynne: I don't know. Socks can be sneaky little things.

Hubby is wondering why I am laughing like a fool!

@MRC: I've wondered that EXACT same thing. I miss Wynne sometimes.
