LMAO then you didn't build him to be a devastating DPSer of sheer awesome quality the way me and Doc did apparently.

Seriously, that boy does MASSIVE damage if built correctly. He flipped on lyrium ghost, rushed me, and then used some skill with some buff and BOOOM ... mage goes splat.

Pretty much how it went Doc. I never play casual /flex, but I wasn't on nightmare either... heh. I was just squishy and didn't MOVE fast enough to avoid that first charge attack.

DOH... unprepared TOP... well I'll just shamelessly plug my own art

But... I did! I promise.

I play on normal and threw up Tempest. He went down pretty fast after that.

Second time around wasn't like that. As I said... I actually MOVED out of the way. On my other mage either it wasn't like that. This was my rival bloodmage who I had built as sort of a damage over time/ splode them with blood mage.

Unfortunately Fenris does go down quite easily, but that first charge took me so off guard and then boom dead. I was laughing so hard at the sheer awesome I couldn't be mad. Although when I had to fight Anders I cried a little because he was like "heal" "heal" "default mage spell x that game gave me" *dead*... I was all... "Oh Anders... you can't heal dead." Still, I didn't want to kill him, but stupid me sided with the Templars after befriending him. I think I actually reloaded that one and sided with the mages. LOL.

Merrill went down like a sack of potatoes too, just FYI.

You didn't like mage?! THE blasphemy of this! I mean.. I don't even... LOL. Jk Jk.

Honestly, I love playing mage. I set my mage up first with lightning and lightning storm. Then I branch into the elements tree with Fire and Ice. I mix that up with some Force mage skills later on and voila! I have the perfect mage killing machine. I put points into Magic and Willpower. Also, I make sure I put some into Fortitude for HP. My mages are quite deadly. I absolutely love playing one. Putting an attack speed rune or buff on a staff is excellent as well -- punching R as fast as you can and seeing auto attack rip apart your enemies never gets old.

No I don't like it....I have to think too much .  Playing as a mage for me isn't as natural as being a warrior.  But maybe your post will guilt me into trying again.;):D

That's funny... I find warrior so mind-numbingly dull. It is my least favorite class. I usually am more of a mage/sorcerer/range magic wielding type character. I love me some glass cannons, LOL.

Still, my warrior was my least favorite playthrough. I think I will go back and do another warrior though and make it a sword and board warrior instead of a two handed warrior. While I liked the skills it brought to the table I feel I was missing an essential part of the warrior mechanic. I really was just bored with her.

However, being a two handed warrior and having Fenris along was awesome fun. We could share tactics and have sparring/training sessions.... At least in my headcanon we did, LOL.

Ahh, Wolf's Rain. That is one of.. if not my favorite Fenart. It was featured in Bioware's wall too. Such beautiful talent.... I am forever Jealous of it.

Seriously though I need to go. I've been trolling the Fenris thread the last few hours. I haven't slept in 20+ hours now. It is starting to become like drunk texting, LOL. I will regret it in the future I fear....

The artist is the one who convinced me to give Fenris a chance. Now I'm as torn between Fenris and Anders as I am Alistair and Zevran.

Oh sia.... welcome to the Fengirl side. Once you become one of us you will find it VERY hard to leave.

As an Anders fan and a Fenris fan I have to say I always preferred Fenris' first, and I still have my reservations on romancing Anders. Still, out of all the romances his is very satisfying, and well worth the effort. You don't have to be conflicted per say... just maybe like the rest of us when playing....

sorry, this is always worth reposting. Okay seriously I'm leaving now....

Well... I was so conflicted, my Warden ended up with both Zev and Al in fic. I don't think I can do the same with Anders and Fenris. LOL @ pic.

We'll see if either of them end up owning me like Zev did.

I, uh... never really have an issue taking Fenris down in the Fade.

Nor I, as long as I don't miss the stunlock. He has one-shotted me when I do, though!

I haven't done that with a warrior yet, but we'll see. With the first Aniya PT, I took whoever overrides Fenris on that demon (Merril, I think?) so he ended up not betraying Aniya in the Fade at all. I liked that.

Heh. First time I took Fenris he one shotted the whole party. Serves me right for bringing a bunch of squishies.

Yeah, the first time I took him in there, I took him down solo when he one-shotted everyone else. I ended up reloading for some reason I don't remember, and then had to reload twice more when he OMGWTFBBQPWNT  the whole party.

So long as you bring Tempest, he's not too bad.

And um... my mind keeps wandering into the gutter. I had to rewrite that sentence a few times before it stopped sounding perverted. LOL

 Fenris is awesome. <3

Not so bad with my rogues and mages now. Backstab or Cone of Cold stops him in his tracks.

Yeah he's not. It can be pretty bad if you're not expecting it though. And poor Merrill. She's always my Hawke's sacrifice so he can run. :crying:

Greetings, all. I come with a question: What have you guys speculated Fenris was hoping was in the chest during the Bait and Switch quest?

Working on a fic now, and doing some long range planning. I'm pretty sure this came up as a topic at least once and I'm hoping to pick your brains for opinions. Thanks!

LadyD! Long time no see! (I used to lurk on the Alistair thread but never posted much.) *Slides LadyD the virtual calorie-free but awesome cookies*

As to what's in the box...

Hmm. I'm working on a fic as well, and I've baked my brain on this a couple of times. I'm not sure it'll be relevant to my fic, but it would have to motivate an un-romanced, still-very-suspicious Fenris to risk the trap even with a misdirection.

He may not have known he had a sister, but I wonder if perhaps it was information about his mother? Some sort of information about how to hide his markings from Danarius (since he speculates that Danarius is using the markings to track him)?

ETA: (OT) I'm a little sidetracked by ME2 (it is actually helping with the fic, surprisingly, because it keeps me from getting fic fatigue), and I just heard Gideon Emery's voice for the first time in the game. Yeah, I know Kenn is a Quarian, but electronic distortion on Mr. Emery's voice is a crime IMO. ;) (Yes, it's definitely recognizable despite that, though.)(/OT)

A question for you all if you don't mind. I'm finding that I tend to end up being pretty monogamous in these games. With the exception of a Zev run through in Origins because someone on the boards said you had to see a romance all the way through with Zev to understand him, it was Alistair all the way for me.

This time on the first playthough I jumped into the Anders romance (and missed the Bait and Switch quest so I didn't even meet the elf). After the "big event" I was so angry I couldn't even think of Anders again. Then I got the quest, and the elf and now there just isn't anyone else that seems right for my Hawke friend or rival. I went back and did an Anders playthrough to let him live and see if that made a difference. Hard to do, especially when Fenris said, "If you hurt her, I'll kill you."

Anyone else have this issue?

@Ursula. I love ME 2 except for the fact that I can't really seem to find a romance that fits. I hope ME 3 is better in that regard.

I hear you about manogamy in the games, I never romanced anyone but Alistair in Origins and I was very excited when I heard Anders was a LI. I played the Andersmance through my first game and I liked it a lot but that wine bottle hit the wall and I was sold. Posted ImagePosted Image

Hi LD, I have no clue what was in the box. Posted Image

It was full of Aggregio Pavali, naturally.

Just kidding...(though I'd laugh if that was the whole point of the quest)

I remember one fanfic that suggested that it was something that Danarius taunted Fenris with, something to do with making him more powerful or helping his memories return or something. The point is, it was suggested that Danarius used it as a sort of imaginary reward that he couldn't get until he did something to prove his devotion to his master.

The box contains a bright shiny MacGuffin ;)

Seriously, I always assumed Fenris thought it had information about his past in it.  Papers perhaps?

On monogomy - yes I am in games.  I find an LI I like and have problems finishing runs with anyone else.  Fenris is my guy in DA2, Zev for DAO, Kaidan in ME's.  If I mix it up I tend not to be able to finish the runs.  I'm odd I know.

Oh and /wave Fenris fans, long time no post :wizard:

Tank! I've been hiding in the Cullen thread ;-) Took a break from DA2 but I've been lured back in by Legacy shinyness.

I love Fenris' dialogue in that..and any other time if truth be told.

to the conversation about Fenris in the Fade..

Just unequip his gear before he betrays you. No need to swap to a lower setting. I almost never drop below Hard on any encounter. I'm just not "hard kore enuff" to go Nightmare just yet. Also? Crushing Prison. Live it, learn it, love it ;p
