I'm sorry, I'm just feeling very frustrated, thats all.  The codex hurt my feelings, and I just can't help but feel it could have been done better.  You guys didn't write it, it just seems like whoever did didn't put too much time into it.  It just doesn't seem to fit with my particular character.

I have invested in Fenris.  What's being said about him and written about him are often just plain wrong.  I don't know how this is acceptable in any capacity.  Fenris does like being touched.  If he doesn't like being touched by you than maybe you're the wrong sex, or maybe he just doesn't like YOU.  These characters are for the players.  They respond differently to each one, that is becoming more and more clear.  My Fenris loves me, and has loved me since the night we spent together.  He also likes Kirkwall;  he's eludedto this many a time in both the second and third acts. Why in the "Fenris past Three Years" codex it say he's talked many a time of leaving Kirkwall and Hawke, even though he clearly loves her, and eludes as such in conversation with Anders, Varric, and Merril, talks romatically to her even after he "breaks up" with her, wears a romantic symbol to express his love for her even though he doesn't officially commit to her until later (as if that kind of thing is lost on any woman with real life experience with men)  you need to give him time to commit, but he does love you and he shows it all through the second act as long as you don't switch to Anders...

Who writes these codeces?  The one on Fenris is wrong from each case scenario...

I'm not unreasonable.  I've let soooooo many discrepancies and inconsistencies in the story/romances go already- and I wasn't going to complain.  People want to feel inspired by these games, not be left negatively hanging, without a lot of hope, in what they are investing in.  Might I suggest actually giving the USERs a bit of freedom if it can't be done right from your end?  Heaven (or Maker, rather) forbid we could write some of our own Codexes/Codeces, I admit I don't know the plural to this word I appologize.  Revolutionary to think you could

As Rei said... not sure what your looking for especially since you apparently have Fenris 100% figured out and your canon is THE canon, but any evidence in game to suggest otherwise is just plain WRONG. Likewise, as Rei said your not going to get word of god to justify your concrete ideals. I find the tone of your post quite arrogant, demanding, and downright rude, but that is beside the point.

To answer some questions -- This thread is for Fenris fans to express their interpretations/love/discussion/questions/analysis etc. about Fenris. The views are all over the place, but the fans suggesting things should be taken seriously? Wait what?

I can see where your going. You don't have a customized codex that explains how YOUR Hawke has romanced Fenris and how he would never leave you etc. etc. The codex still says he will think about leaving Kirkwall. How is that against character? How is that incorrect? He wears the favor even if you do go to another romance. Fenris' romance can be ended in Act 2. Fenris LEAVES any Hawke. ANY HAWKE (yours too!) That doesn't warrant him at least *thinking* about leaving Kirkwall. HE LEFT YOU. You are not in a relationship for 3 years! Of course he doesn't leave, of course the romance picks up in Act 3, but you don't think that during the 3 year gap he might have CONSIDERED leaving Kirkwall? In Act 1 and 2 of course he considers leaving Kirkwall because he is not in a relationship with you yet. It isn't some wild and crazy off the wall idea. It has legitimate reasoning behind it. Oh wait.. I'm "justifying it" -- but I'm wrong so why bother right. I'm not DG so holy mother of Andraste I can't know anything about Fenris. LOL.

Also at the touched thing... just.. what? Really? He loves being touched so much that when you touch him in Act 2 after Hadrianna he shrugs you off violently and when you grab him at his mansion for glowy kiss he freakin turns on you like a cobra. Oh yes, clear evidence he LOOoOoves being touched.

The rest is just silly.. and the equivolent of other gaming forums where people "I DEMAND THIS OR I'M Leaving!" nerdrage at the writers/devs/ whatever. Sorry, this is going to fall on deaf ears, especially since it is rather trollish in nature anyways. Trolololololol ... along....

Oh and CGG you didn't break my brain, but ... I do need some brain bleach after that whole *skills* discussion. Oh man... It isn't so much what you were suggesting but how you presented it that got me like . As for taking your comments worse than the others, well it's because yours was not very vague, but rather specific in nature. Conjured specific images and suggested specific things. Hence the yuck factor climbed. LO

Umm the moderator said that this forum belongs to no one person. You can't act like you own it. Stop patronizing me, I don't believe you. Of course you're free to disagree. The developers do read these types of things, they're just smart enough not to add their opinions too often.


I'm leaving this topic, but I do love Fenris.  It just would be nice to have even the tiniest bit of sympathy.

No, that's not what happened. He never shrugged me off, he came to me, at my appartment. He never glowed. He took me into his arms, saying he hadn't been thinking of anything except... insert "use your imagination here". He was NEVER violent with me.

Are you at Fifty percent rivalry or Friendship?; have you checked that recently? Did you have a Questioning Beliefs conversation in Act 2?

I'm at 90% friendship. I can't seem to find the wiki entry on the bug I think I hit, though. It's the one where if you choose a certain dialogue choice that leads to him saying he's ending it for Hawke's sake, or something, that it ends all further romance scenes, but the flags are still active.

So, can y'all tell me what else is supposed to happen in Act 3 that I should look for?

If that is the case you may need to go back... hopefully you've saved where he does that. If you were in a romance with someone else at any point before Fenris it's a little tricky, and that might be where the bug is. My character has never been in a relationship with anyone before Fenris, and his dialog scenes come in a very orderly fashion. Unless a patch comes out you may have to retrace your steps and play part of the game over.

Nah. This whole game will get pitched anyway. I may let this be the only game where I kill Anders and side with the Templars just to see what happens. This was also the experimental run where Carver was a Templar instead of a Warden anyway. I much prefer Warden!Carver. And if I kill Anders and don't keep the save, it won't count anyway, will it. LOL

But, I have a save right before Bethany dies on the way out of Lothering, so I can just replay the whole thing. Like I really needed an excuse, right?

So... what will I be missing in this bugged out game in Act 3?

What I found (and I had to do pretty much all of Act 3 again) was that I needed to do his Act 3 first talk before confronting Danarius, made sure his rivalry was maxed with the Sword of Mercy and then I was able to finish the romance.  Just having it over fifty percent and choosing all the flirt options wasn't doing it.

I haaaate that they make you kill Anders. But it's their thing I guess. I did kill him to please Fenris, but then went back and redid it and sided with the mages- but Fenris realllly didn't like that. But he tolerated it, and I did do just about everything else his way after all. I like the love scene at the end with Fenris in the Templar Courtyard much better than in the dank Gallows, so, since those things matter to me, I'll inevitably side with the Templars to get the best of all worlds except poor Anders I guess. Not happy with that aspect. Perhaps Justice will reposses his body or something. I don't want Anders to be gone and I don't want him back in cliche'd "ghost form". Like Leandra or whatever.

If you need help finding the Sword of Mercy say so, and don't forget to put runes on it
