Zevran? Betray the Warden? How do you figure?

Ryz: Legacy actually cemented my dislike for Templar Carver.

Also, Anna didn't start out self-loathing. Bethany's death began a long slow slide into self hatred.

And ToP:

Originally the flags for the Zeveran romance were not importing correctly so he would sleep with Hawke and or Isabela even if he was romanced by the Warden.  I believe that is what is meant.  But one of the patches fixed that I think.;)

I too chose the templar path for Carver! I like their uniform for one thing. And their anti-mage spec tree. I'm working on a female templar in DA 1. The armor doesn't fit her so good but it's good enough. The armor fits much better in DA 2 but the templar armor's stats arent so good unless I'm missing something, in this version. Justice and Loghain I also made Templars. in addition to their first specialty. And the game must have read my mind because I would always have my mage wear the Chantry Robes because I liked how they looked, but they didn't have any special stat on them. In this game their are several Chantry-Robe like mage robes you can get including a rune slot on a top-notch one! Gotten from the Emporium. Fenris seems to like the templars and even Feynriel says he understands the Templars stance after he's been in Tevinter.

That's a programming error, not a betrayal. Besides, even Alistair considers a roll in the hay with Isabella even if he ended up with your Warden (just saw that last night and had to laugh my ass off). Apparently, there's no monogamy in Thedas. LOL

Apparently there's some dispute over Zevran, but I had the patch and Isabella and Zevran run away together at any rate. I went to a lot of trouble to save that character at the end of Awakenings. And Zevran was far from my first choice. Loghain, Sten, hec maybe even Oghren haha. But then Zevran grew on me, and it worked out, or seemed to. She was madly in love with him too, it's a shame. But consideration was not taken before release to this and as of yet i have all the patches, at least I think i do. I'll check to make sure, of course... Oh and yes... Romance in Legacy with Fenris,,, sigh....

Wow, things got busy while I was asleep/running errands!

I could also stare at the 'suits' pic all day. Heck, M!Hawke looks darn tasty there too...

*Considers getting an Aniya/Fenris commission from one of our wonderful artists here. Is anyone who does them willing to work from an "XBox screenshot" of her? ;) (

I may have missed this before I joined the thread, but I'm struggling with one particular (but fairly pivotal) chapter of my fic. I keep starting it and deleting the file because I don't like it. If, when I get it to FF, I provide a link, would those of you who are so inclined be willing to 'alpha read' it? (And if this is a horrible breach of FenThread ettiquite, LMK :) ).

I'm merrily writing chunks of story all over the timeline of DA2 with absolutely no problem, but this one, early chapter (that is Fenris's intro into the fic, so it's very important to get right) is killing me. *headdesk*

I would be, but I'm not sure if I do commission-quality work. Posted Image there's a link in my sig to my DA page, anyway... I'd love to try.

...is aimo doing commissions anymore?

Yes, the game does seem to encourage you to make Carver and Bethany Wardens. I can't help but think they are happier that way. However since Anders says he hates the deep Roads and I'm a healer I just never took him out of courtesy except on the playthrough where I tried to make him my love interest. Otherwise I like me, Varric, Fenris and Aveline I think the most. Merrill and Isabela die too easily at that level for me. But I always take Isabella on the final mission. She really wants to be taken along. And I wish I could take Anders always too. I always take Fenris.
But ya gotta bring Varric, thats for sure, he's the one telling the story! So that's four, and I can only take three. Case solved if Anders isn't around. But I wish he was, i really do, too good of a character to just have die off...but I think I'm gonna have to to get the ending I want the most. Harrrumph.

Heh, your Mage M!Hawke is so nice. My Mage M!Hawke is a power-hungry blood mage who is on Full Friendship with everyone. He doesn't consider himself a mage at all - he is gifted, and not as dumb as the circle. (He learned Blood Magic from a book long before he met Fenris.)

And I made him have a Friendmance with Fenris.

He sides with the templars at the end.

Yeah, he's a jerk, but so much fun to write, I wrote my very first Slashfic about his feelings during Fenris' break-up with him in Act 2.

Agreed.

Coupled with the weird, feminine gait and the cold killer voice - how could you not agree with this?

I swear that every time I see that scene, I feel like less of a woman. :? I wonder how poor Lady Hawke felt...

Hawke: F-Fenris?

Fenris: Yes?

Hawke: Why when Danarius walked down the stairs did I feel less like a woman?

Fenris: He did that to everyone.

Omg, I miss all the fun. Crazy trolls/ slightly delusionalrabidfans always come out to play when I am on a six hour roadtrip. My luck sucks.

My fave Hawke is my "magister" Hawke. He told Fen he was seeking nothing but that was a lie, he wants lots and lots of power, and a tatooed elf waiting for him at home... in bed. Which Fen is totes okay with, without bloodmagic thankyou cause my Hawke thinks only weak mages umph their power with blood. Nice is not a word I would use to describe him, insane maybe.

Meezy Alexy: Thank you ever so, I am actually running out of MHawke/Fen fics, and since they're my otp it makes for a rather sad shipper.

What point in act one do you think Fen should be recruited, I usually nab him right after Aveline but I wanted to wait this time, I am a M!ageHawke, and who should I bring with me on his quest to get the most dialogue. Wil I get more friendship points by using the flirt option, the diplomatic or sarcastic. Heeelllppp me. Please.

As for the points, I would suggest checking out the Wiki article on Friendship/Rivalry(Or on Fenris himself) to figure out how to get maximum points for that first conversation after Bait and Switch. That's what I use.

Speaking of, I need to re-do my rival-mance Anders run....I think I screwed things up somewhere....

For my Amell who grew up in the Circle, it's easy to see her being pro-Circle and not hating templars, but it's really hard to reconcile playing a Mage Hawke who sides with the Templars for most of DA2. I can *sort* of see pulling a 180 and deciding to side with Meredith only after the Chantry explosion, but my one totally pro-templar game is with a rogue, who has Bethany's acceptance of life in the Gallows to make it a little less weird for me to understand.

I wish we could have seen even a little bit more of everyday life for Circle mages in Kirkwall.

... I recently noticed the Iron Maidens in the Gallows on my 2nd playthrough, I think I was too caught up in "Yes nearly finished, I'm on the home stretch now!" feeling to notice the scenery the first time.
Now I can't stop thinking about the six iron maidens that are in the middle of a square where a lot of people can stand around and there are balconies and windows looking out on the area... and there are children in the Circle.... and the Iron Maidens looked like they had slots you could stick a sword through... now whenever I hear Cullen mention Interrogations I feel sick and want to cry.
I can imagine, if I'm feeling charitable, that they only got bought in in the last 3 years when Meredith is really loosing it, but I can't stop thinking about mages being tortured into confessing to blood magic or naming others as blood mages.... and they'd have healers standing by so the torture could go on for such a long time.

I was going to do my aggressive anti-mage Lady Hawke for my third runthrough after playing two male mages but... I think I may go back to Origins for a while, finish my Cousland or Tabris playthrough... yeah... :crying:

uh, look here's Coffee, Black [Eventualy becomes NSFW but takes a while to get there] a modern AU about Fen, a Photographer and Garrett, a barista who paints in his spare time. I don't normally go for AU stories but this is so perfect and sweet, there are parallels drawn between game canon and the AU, Fen has white ink tattoos and is remarkably in character despite the different setting, Garrett is adorbly awkward and Isabela, Andy and Merrill take in on themselves to be his wingmen to try and get them together. I did fanart but I fail because I forgot Fen's glasses

That story is the absolutely the cutest, squishiest thing ever.  I'm always sporting a huge grin whenever I read it and so much second hand embarassment.  Hawke is simply adorkable in that fic and I can relate hard core.  His thoughts were my thoughts back when I was single.  So universally relatable.  And Fenris is so well done.  Actually all of it's well done.  Love it!

Edit:  ReiSilver, awesome art work also! :D

I'm loving how my current playthrough is turning out with Fenris on friendmance.

I'm currently in Act 2 and post Hadrianna I let Fenris walk away after questioning about looking for his sister (this Hawke is very pro family). Then Questioning Beliefs pops up, they talk about Fog Warriors, they flirt. Do part of the main quest without him in the party and go back to the estate and there he is. The wall kiss is very sex and I find it perfect in a rivalmance but I admit I do have a tiny preference for the "command me to leave" dialogue and kiss. Then the inevitable; he broke her heart.

I hate All That Remains (personal reasons, not really game play ones) but post quest dialogue choosing Say Something, Anything and More Questions for the first time almost made it worth it :D

Hnnnggghhhh.... So, I jumped on the bandwagon in a pique of deranged interest at this coffe, black thing.

I can't ever do AU. I just... can't. In my head they become different characters completely. I can't see any of them as their actual DA counterparts. In order to actually enjoy an AU fic I have to imagine the characters as an alternate universe, parallel reality, or just plain original characters loosely based on something else.

That being said I basically started reading this thing and DIDN'T STOP. I honestly think it should be re-done into an original story because it would be freakin' awesome. Yet because all the random connections and hints from Dragon Age appear I am even more in hysterics. I was laughing so hard. What a great piece of work. I totally got thrown back into my college days when I worked as a barista at Starbucks. I had forgotten so much and suddenly I am back behind the counter and reliving college memories. Truly a good story, even if it is AU.

Anyways, enough gushing on that. Thank you Rei for leading me to this new AU leap *grumble grumble* I honestly hadn't even read fanfiction before Dragon Age other than some friend's original stories and scatterings from Lord of the Rings and Tolkien universe. Oh, Dragon age what have you done to me!?

As for Ser Bard... the friendmance is the best, IMHO. I much prefer the glowy friendmance scene to any other romance scene. It is my personal favorite. As for All that Remains.. I agree it hit a sour note for me too, but I absolutely love Fenris' dialogue when he comes to comfort you. One of the best scenes in game to me. Fenris is so wise.

by the way ... I know this is late but.... :innocent:

In the Friendmance I like the glowy wall-kiss. In the Rivalmance I actually like him walking away and coming back. Like he's all "WTF IS WRONG WITH ME WHY DO I FIND HER SO SEXY WHEN SHE'S EVERYTHING I DISAGREE WITH RRAAAH" for two days or so before giving in.
