I wish I could mod, there is this armour set and... *sigh* It hurts to talk about even. Xbox is so mean sometimes. I like the Mage robes okay, now that I have seen the rogue outfit though? I do wantPosted Image. I am hoping the second tier armour also has a look of awesome. If there is second tier, now I have to go check. I find the armour for mage and warrior fit M!hawke kinda like the first rogue item in the first item pack did, and I always felt that armour made my Fem Hawke look fat, so I am concerned that it will frump up my females in this one too. All the companions stuff is pretty cool and now with both sets they all have a ring and necklace. So spoiled.

They are taking an awfully long time to release the toolset this time around. Don't worry EA you can still fleece poor shmucks like me. God ow I have to go and listen to Fen bear snarl at me about how I am evil and mageish. Honestly that scene right after helping himwith Danarius is probably the only time I ever really want to strangle him, he is not good at gratitude, at all. Posted Image

It probably doesn't speak well of me that I love that scene for rivalmance. Fenris is disatisfied and frustrated but Hawke has been around him so long they just accept that he's upset and not angry at them specifically. And again Fenris admits he is misdirecting his anger at Hawke.
...plus his growly tevinter is hot, my Hawke is all 'Oooo, do that again, whisper it in my ear~'

That scene is one of may favorites, too. I've played it different ways but I will admit that I think I prefer to troll him there. Imo, it is one of the best places in the game where the troll response works so well with my rp of their relationship. Fenris: *tevinter curses* Hawke: *trollololo* Fenris stops his pacing and looks over at a smirking Hawke. Some of his anger drains away, he gives a litte eye roll and they can get down to business. Posted Image

Edit: ToP

I had a glitch where Fenris apparently lost his sword. Kinda looks like he's dancing!

I much prefer greatsword for Fenris as well. I loved the meat cleavers with the skeleton hands from the rogue DLC. I don't know why, but something about carving enemies up into little pieces seemed more appropriate with meat cleavers. LOL.
As for maces and axes I am "meh" on them. I like them just fine, but I much prefer daggers. There is a fantastic item pack for the PC that has some wicked looking daggers and custom weapons.

One of my favorites being this:

Honestly the modders out there are doing a fantastic job. I really wish they had more capability because there could be some truly epic stuff.

Fenris with a scythe cracks me up. I just put in that item pack about 2 days ago. I'll try to round up some screenies.

Still waffling... <_<

I like those new mage robes. Finally, I can have a cool set of robes that don't have Hawke running around in a skirt. The only thing is that the new fancy enchanted gloves are called The Elusive Gloves. That has to make getting ready in the morning a little difficult.

Hawke Estate

Hawke: Fenris have you seen my gloves?

Fenris: I thought you left them on your desk?

Hawke: I did! But they're not there!

Fenris: Did it ever occur to you that buying something that has "elusive" in the title usually means that it's hard to find?

Hawke: No. I didn't even look at the title I just saw that the little tag on them had more little stars on them than the gloves I was wearing so I bought them.

This is my very first posting in a blog, of any kind. I do not have "blog etiquette" down yet but I am hoping I will be tolerated just the same. I would like to read feedback on a topic of mage freedom, especially as it relates to a romanced Fenris.
In thinking about the mage struggle, I have always thought that the story to support mage freedom was missing something in the story telling.   Anders character actually is a poor example of supporting mage freedom, his personal struggle was written well enough, but the larger picture of mage freedom was not fully fleshed out. I actually believe Ferris's story does a better job.  I believe a conversation with Hawke and Fenris would have led to a better understanding / support for mage freedom. I am prefacing the fact I am not a writer, an intellectual or anything like that so forgive the format it is just easier for me to visualize it as a conversation between Hawke and Fenris.
I visualize Hawke having this conversation, in the 3rd Act after completing his Alone quest and solidifying his "love for his Hawke".
"Fenris, I want to talk to you about supporting me in changing the Chantry. You and I agree on many things when it comes to mages. I agree mages should be trained to properly use mage and be responsible for the use and abuse of magic, I agree that mages who use magic to hurt, manipulate or otherwise harm innocents should be held accountable as anyone else would, I believe as you and the Chantry does that mages should be monitored to ensure they do not fall prey to the influence of demons. I do not agree that a mage should be taken away from a family and placed in a life of confinement for fear of what a mage can do. A mage placed in the Chantry can never be free to prove themselves or be free to make the world better. A mage placed in this environment also does not prevent the influence of demons, the risk is still there. I believe there is a better way to embrace the gift of magic and those who wield it. It will take the courage to change both the chantry and mages.   A mage can be a deadly force but so can any man, elf or dwarf. Think of Logain. His betrayal led to the deaths of thousands of Fereldens in both the blight and the civil war. He paid the price for his betrayal, but the damage he caused did not call for the imprisonment of all warriors or political leaders. An individual was dangerous just like an individual mage can be dangerous. We should not live in a world where every mage is deemed dangerous for the acts of other mages.
Fenris, I love that you make me a better mage, your experience at the hands of horrible man who was a mage makes me want to fight harder to keep individuals like him held accountable so that no one experiences what you have endured.    I want mages to be responsible for their magic. I want mages to make positive contributions.
The Chantry and Templar's today do not distinguish between good and bad mages, all mages are bad in their eyes. All mages are Danarius in their eyes. If you still feel all mages should be imprisoned by the Chantry  then I ask you to take me to the gallows. I will surrender willingly. "
I envision Fenris realizing the impact of what would happen to his Hawke and see/feel torn.   It doesn't change the ending but then again nothing Hawke really does changes the ending but it can have an impact on Fenris and it works even if Hawke is not a mage by suggesting what if they had a child in the future who was a mage.  It is just one of many thoughts I have on Fenris.

@ Dolf: Fenris wouldn't listen to that speech by Hawke probably until it was too late. I like it though.

@Ursula: I think Jho just started it. Her page says it's just part of the full sketch. Which will eventually be a shirtless Fenris. ;)

And I love Louvette's work, especially with Fenris. *fans self* I liked her 'men of DA:O', but her Fenris art made me a fan.

Jho will draw Fenris as well as she renders Kaidan.  And then I'll be a puddle over there.  ~points~

Too.. Fleshdress? Oh I thought you meant after if you're not in a romance with Fenris and you're a mage, what Fenris says to after he says he has nothing now, and you pick the option "you have freinds", the diplomatic choice and he mutters "my only friend is a mage...". I liked it when he said that. Made me want to make sure I was in a romance with him because it's like he needs you.

I liked all the dialog after you meet him outside after his first Quest in Act one. I told him I didn't know what I was seeking, and he seemed to like that. Kind of like him I guess. But I was a little disappointed that they don't seem to give you brownie points for flirting with him in Act One. I could be wrong about that but I think I tried every thing, and they don't seem to give you extra credit in those conversations when you flirt with him. It's fun though, and you gotta do it cause you like him... and I love that scene where he throws that bottle against the wall. That was soo funny.

And to SiaLater, I think I may know what you mean now about that dialogue option. When he breaks up with you, I impulsively wanted to use the "So you're ending it option," because I felt defensive because I was hurt, and yet I made sure to pick the diplomatic options to make sure it wouldn't go wrong. And it's so cute how in the cutscene after the love scene he's wearing that red band and the Hawke symbol. That was a really cute aspect that I didn't notice the first time around.

He's got the favors on for Anna. Like the wiki says, it's bugged. It shouldn't break the romance.

Yeah, since he breaks up with you anny way they should allow the player to be a little defensive and hurt about it and not have him automatically reject you.

@Dolf I think the main thing with a speech is that everyone's Hawke is different.
I know Marric isn't nearly that eloquent in his view on mages and the Chantry, he just knows the idea of being locked in the Gallows and tranquility terrify him and he thinks the circle system is wrong and full of abuse. But more then that he's the kind of person who would rather avoid conflict and only gets into an argument if someone else brings it up and pushes his buttons, or he can't joke his way onto another topic. He's just not the type to make a speech (one of the reasons I love the purple end game speech, it really sounds like someone who isn't used to that kind of thing.) and he's not likely to put Fenris on the spot with an ultimatum.

I do think Fenris and Mage Hawke make for a great dynamic given the mage focus of the plot and how Fenris comes to accept Hawke as a strong mage who will resist abusing their power and wont fall to demons. I feel like depending on choosing sides at end game they would still have things to work out but they've come to accept and respect each other and on the rival path; agree to disagree.
