Thanks, I tend to get rabble-y and off tangent if I try anything beyond that. I also feed off comments cause I am shy and insecure. Feed me!!! 

I am still loving the new rogue armour. In a way it remindes me of Sebastians except less shiny. I would happily kill Sebastian if it meant I could take his armour.

Is there anything you would mod about Fenris? Hair, eyes, blah blah blah.

I would go for his hair, not that the white doesn't suit him or make him look oh so yummy, But, it isn't really explained why his hair is white. (So far, hint hint bioware.) and I guess the only other reason is my own bias towards brunettes. I know a lot of people don't like the new look for elves, noses mostly, but I like it on him, it looks good. When my brother first saw Fen he thought he was ugly, colour me shocked, but maybe I just see him too much through the eyes of a fengirl, When I first saw Anders I didn't like the way he looked but recently he has grown on me. Maybe Fen just grew on me faster?

I don't like the "improved" elves in DA2. It makes me frightened for my Warden, a Surana, and how she looks. However, Fenris pulls it off.  I'm not entirely certain how Zevran ended up looking bulkier than he does. Simply from his occupation alone, Fenris should be more... broad.

I'm going to sound rather cliched, but there isn't anything I would change about Fenris's appearance. Well, besides the option of being able to see him shirtless, but who could blame me for that one ;D.

I think that Fenris would be one of the few elves that would look really odd if Bioware reverted back to the original elf model. Merrill and he are the ones that look okay with the new models.

The armor. Zev still has on the Leather Armor you meet him in. That armor is BULKY compared to DA2 armor.


Edit: Dammit! They added more chapters to Coffee, Black... And I just happily sat there and read them, grinning like an idiot, in the living room, in front of my family. Not that I care. Awkward AUModern Hawke effectively courting AUModern Fen is adorkable.:wub:

I agree the normal leather are super bulky in DA2. Which was sad when meeting Fen cause distracted from new face aside my fave Zev moment is when he is walking out on meeting Lohgain and oh the legs.

That said I am not overly fond of Fens armour. I want that mod for the cool jacket one.

That would be more then nice. I dunno, call me pervy but that scene... unf. Then I have to avert my eyes cause Howe trys to steal Zevs leg spotlight. You know I am glad that most charcaters aren't just rebuffs of old. I can't look in DAO and say, "Yah thats the Fenris of the group." Short of Shale, but really.

do you prefer friendmance or rivalmance for fenris?

i'm working my way through every da2 romance, and while i may eventually play both, i'm trying to decide which to try first for fenris.

i'm also assuming that playing a mage makes for a good rivalmance, yes?

Different strokes for different folk you'll get varied answers for sure. For grit your teeth and unf passion. If you like semi bipolar scenes that go from shouting to cooing go rivalmance. Tis hot.

For squishy sweetness and heart jarring go for friendmance. Plus the expressions that you get in friendmance are so good. Also don't listen to me cause I am only now doing my second rivalmance properly and friendmance is definitely my fave.

Sadi: Only Chapter 30 right, not 31 cause I have to go on a date with bf and if there is a new chap to read I'll be late and I'll have to get mad at bf for interfering with new chapter.

I've friend-manced with a mage before. It's surprisingly easy. Be Anti-slaver, Anti-bloodmage. Conversations give you the most points with Fenris, and through those and killing slavers(Like with Danzig in Feynriel's first quest. "Make him talk." *grin*"I can do that.") you can make him out by early Act 2. You can be almost maxed by end of Act 1 (I think you get Friend points for refusing the demon's offer in the Deep Roads).

Heya, Sage.  And I have.  Though it bugged out, so I may not get the conclusion.  Dammit.  Guess I'll have to replay. 

Anna Hawke is a bit afraid of her power.  She's not a hypocrite, she's only slightly self-loathing, but by the time the thought occurs to her to throw herself on the mercy of the Gallows, she realizes she can't do that because that would be a death-sentence for both Merrill and Anders and she's too far gone, head over heels for her elf warrior, despite him dumping her after their one night together (or so she thinks he did).  But, she's completely anti-blood magic but doesn't actually want Merrill dead so she won't turn her in.  Same with Anders.  So, she did her best to curb the blood mages in Kirkwall because the strong must protect the weak.  You know, with great power comes great responsibility and all that jazz.  (Um... basically... she's Avery.)

well that gives me some ideas on how to go here. my current hawke is almost violently anti-mage (as much as i can make her without totally thinking she's a jerk) so i think i can pull back a little. currently, she only *just* got fenris as a friend. man, i really slide all over the friend/rivalry scale with people.

she was supposed to be 'for' fenris but izzy stole her. gonna have to try again. 

i just may have to leave fenris behind on certain 'free the mages' quests.

ok, ok I'm in Legacy and I just can't get out! I can't find the dagger in the "Tower Base". I wan't to get the new things for my character and Fenris, etc., but I've been in here for a few days, stuck. I have to get out of here and finish, with this character: it's probably my best one yet, I hadn't been able to catch that flying book in the fade to get the extra points and hadn't done the barrels quest to get extra points yet. But this time I did, and tried to read all the codexes for the extra experience etc. I didn't see all of them my first time around, and didn't know that they give you 50 experience points each. It just doesn't say that, like it does in Origins. So for a while I thought I wasn't getting experience for them.

I love that Corypheous Voice! he like talks with all these little lisps like, I will try to put it in letters. "Blllllesssthed are yooooouuu Duuumaaaatcsth; siiiilensth and sthrong. Blesssth us all with your poweeerrrrrsth", or something like that. I love it when the emissary actually emerges and looks all disoriented and kind of spaced out, and you pick the funny dialogue and Hawke says...you are a darkspawn... D-a-r-k-Spawn. That was so funny. And that glance by Fenris that was put up the other day by ReiSilver was so funny.

I think I may have heard the death sound for Fenris the other day when fighting those horrible Beacon and Giffre. Gosh. I don't think I'd heard it, and it was kind of muffled because so many other sounds were going on at the same time and I didn't expect Fenris to die so soon because he usually doesn't and must have drawn the aggro all at the same time from those two nightmareish revenants, and all of a sudden he was dead as if in one blow, and I heard this sound I'd never heard before.: The death sound, it seemed like it sounded sooo funny, but I can't let him die! He's the main party member I take care of, myself included. What can I dooo to hear that sound again. If I remember correctly, it sounded like an even more great version of the battle cries: Mmmmmmaaaaaahgh, Mnnnnnnnaaaaaaaagh. I love hearing those sounds over and over again. What must i doooo, I am really in quite a predicament here to hear it again. I guess I could look for the file somewhere but it actually is sicknenly funny to see the character crumple over at the same time. Sebastian went down like a leaf to the Revenants before the battle had even started... so quick I don't think he even made a sound. That is one hec of a battle even on Normal Mode.

Sssssthuggestions, Anyone? I'm not sure I'll be able to say much more before the winds and rain start from the hurricane. Gosh I hope I'm not without power for too long.... I experienced Hurricane Isabel back in 2003 here and lost power for 3 days. Thats not that long but it seemed like it.

I like the new elf look; there's certainly some polishing to be done on it, but I enjoy the fact that the elves have more distinct visual differences from humans now. Merrill and Fenris look the best simply because the most time was spent making them look the best. I do wish Fenris had been as muscular in his in-game model as he was in his concept art; buffest elf I've ever seen, man. I also wish his skin was that darker colour, rather than the lighter, more olive shade he has in-game. He's very attractive as-is, but his concept art is just . . . rowr. XD

As for the Fenris romances, it's a difficult call between friend and rival, for me, but I like the rivalmance a bit better because I feel like the rival relationship helps him more. Rather than constantly agreeing with him and coddling him on the points he's wrong on, the rival relationship calls him out on the stuff that's bull****. I adore Fenris, and I don't think he's entirely wrong - I'm a bit of a cynic - but I also don't think he's entirely right, and I like that a rival can challenge him.

I also like that the rival relationship has so much respect and trust, even though they don't agree. I certainly don't agree with the people I care for all the time, even on some issues that are very important to me, but that doesn't mean I care any less for them. It's more difficult to get along sometimes, sure, but that doesn't mean they're not worth the effort. So that's why I like the rivalmance, I suppose; it's more of a challenge for my Hawkes.

But the friendmance is certainly sweet as well, so if you prefer sweet to a challenge, it's fantastic. XD

i find it hard to get rivalry, b/c i'm not really aiming for it. i just sort of do crap and eventually varric likes my hawke and everyone else is sitting in hte middle.

Im addicted to coffee, black too. Oh god Rei is such an enabler, lol. Still a cute story and I never read slash or AU but I just live this writing style. I swear the author should abandon the dragon age fanfic part of it and make it an original story. Though part of the appeal is all the little dragon age references and tie ins.

Also, that awkward moment when your boyfriend walks in while your reading coffee, black and you are grinning like a fool. He's like "whatcha reading?" Im all "some au Fenris smut. Its actually good!" He rolls his eyes and goes "really you don't have to look so happy about it. I swear. Is that all you do now?" Me *trollface* "yeah. Im reading an especially juicy make out scene. Male hawke on fen action! Hot." He goes "I didn't need to know that thanks for that mental image." muaaahaha

As for the romance thing I much prefer friendmance mage hawke. It is a give/take. My mage embraces her power and loves being a mage. Yet Fenris reminds her of her limitations. Makes her see that not everyone is her, and likewise she is not exempt from temptation. She loves his perspective. Thinks about everything he says, but also wants to prove to him that she isn't like anything he has seen before. She doesn't believe in total mage freedom but she wont support the circle. When it all goes down she wants to save the mages she can, and Fenris is there as her anchor. Likewise, she supports Fenris... promotes his vengeance and encourages his rage on Danarius. She is willing to wait for him. She isn't sure she loves him at all until act 3. He falls for her because of her independence and ability to move on despite everything. Her support and advice. Her ability to always be there and because she IS so strong even as to resist demons and help anyone regardless but not be naive about mages.

So that is my thing.. one of them anyway.
