she was supposed to be 'for' fenris but izzy stole her. gonna have to try again.
i just may have to leave fenris behind on certain 'free the mages' quests.

(Hawke Approaches Fenris' mansion and sees some strange paintings of crude drawings on the doorway and walls.)
Hawke: *knocking* Fenris? What happened to your mansion... did Isabela... *suddenly a loud noise is heard above her and she jumps out of the way as a body nearly falls on top of her.*
Hawke: Holy mother of Andraste, what.. !? *She looks up and sees that the body has been dangled out the window by a thin rope that is now being recoiled*
Fenris: Oh, Hawke. I didn't see you down there. My appologies.
Hawke: What in the name of the maker are you doing?! Finally cleaning those dead bodies out? You scared me half to death. I thought it was a templar come to get me!
*Fenris disappears from the window and opens the door*
Fenris: Not exactly cleaning. There have been children prowling around my mansion. They put these obscene drawings on my door. I was simply... setting a trap for next time.
Hawke: Your plan was to dump dead bodies on them? *chuckles* Yeah, I guess that would make them stop. Though you know you could probably just show them your face and your sword. I don't think they would come back.
Fenris: I told Aveline I would attempt to exist with less offense. I assumed the direct approach was out. It might cause talk. I have watched these people come here and do their crude paintings. They come at night and vandalize my walls. This gets the neighbors and guards stalking around. Sooner or later this will become a problem.
Hawke: I see. I suppose the crazy ghost elf with the giant sword who can rip your heart out isn't exactly something you want to start as an urban legend. Though I'm pretty sure Varric already has that rumor going. Still, I don't get it. How is this trap supposed to work exactly?
Fenris: I thought it was obvious. You certainly did not seem prepared for it. For a minute I thought you were going to set my prop on fire. Of course a burning corpse outside my mansion might attract even more attention than the crude drawings.
Hawke: Point made. It did scare me half to death. No doubt those thugs will run screaming and soiling themselves. Dead bodies falling from the sky. Ha. Hey! Can I help you test it out tonight?
Fenris: Only if you promise not to set anything on fire.
Hawke: Oh! Your no fun! Come on... one burning corpse to drop on the hooligans? Just one?
Fenris: No, Hawke. I don't need that kind of attention. The ghost elf living in hightown story gives me enough trouble. Imagine adding the ghost elf who lives in hightown and sets corpses on fire for fun at night.
Hawke: Oh fine, but I'm totally freezing one!
Fenris: Fine.. you may freeze one. As long as it helps stop these people from coming back.

I remember once telling Gamlen that my greatest concern should be finding Aniya and Bethany suitable husbands.
Leandra sighed. With Bethany and Carver both gone now, and with her own nobility restored, she had to find someone for Aniya. Now that she could try to do some matchmaking for her eldest, though, she was never available. Either one of her friends needed help with something, or thugs were running in the streets, or she was cleaning up some mess or other in that mine she apparently partially owned.
She doesn’t need to do all that anymore. I could have introduced her to half a dozen eligible nobles or noble sons by now, maybe even the Seneschal’s son. He’s supposed to be quite sought after and has his father’s looks. I used to love meeting new suitors through all of our friends.
I’ll say something to her when she wakes. Aniya had been out until very late gain last night, according to Bodhan, ‘cleaning up the streets’ with Aveline, the smooth-talking dwarf, and that elf, apparently. Leandra sighed again.

Fenris chuckled to himself. Bodhan had finally stopped trying to fuss over him and left him in peace to hunt for something else to read. He was to the point where it was a matter of just reading more to improve, and he found that he did enjoy it, as Aniya had guessed. They usually walked to the Hanged Man together for the card games, so Bodhan wasn't shocked to see him, but today he’d come here early. It was on the the pretext of going through the books for something else to read, although he had to be honest; he was there to be with Aniya longer. Usually, she would have already been here too, but she was apparently still getting ready. That was surprising; she typically didn’t take this long.
And then, he heard her raised voice, although he couldn’t make out what was said. Another voice, her mother’s, wasn’t raised as much, but then, he heard a door open, and he heard the next thing Aniya said very clearly. She was clearly furious.
“Mother, this conversation is over. In case you forgot, I was at my majority when I left for the army. This is my business and I will decide it for myself, thank you.”
“Sweetheart, I’m just pointing out that you don’t have forever, and it’s up to you to carry on the Amell line – “
“OH! I see how this is. Having your husband chosen wasn’t good enough for you, but it’s good enough for ME?!” Outrage, sarcasm, and anger warred in Aniya’s voice now. “I’m sure Father would have loved that!”
“ANIYA! How dare you?!”
At this point, Fenris wished he could disappear into the floor. He knew he was going to be scarlet with embarrassment shortly if he wasn’t already.
Perhaps this is a good time to excuse myself.
He decided to try to do so before either of the women came downstairs and noticed him. He didn’t hear anything else that was said; he was intentionally trying not to hear any more. He slipped from the library, past Sandal’s enchanting device, and made for the foyer. He hadn’t counted on Sarge; the mabari had been asleep but was apparently awakened by his mistress’s voice. He barked happily at Fenris from in front of the fireplace.
Venhedis.
He kept going and let himself out, as Sarge whined in confusion.

Her face went so scarlet her tattoos were practically invisible. She turned back to Leandra, who had also apparently seen him.
“Aniya, he’s an elf, and an escaped slave at that. Do you really think there’s a future there? You have to consider what’s best for you and for the Amell line!”
Aniya advanced a step towards her mother and then struggled to control her temper. “I’m going to say this one more time, and this is the last time I’ll discuss it, Mother. When it comes to giving my heart, I am considering what’s best for me. Maker forbid I want to decide something this important myself. I expect you, of all people, to understand that.”
“Sweetheart, I wasn’t the only remaining child.” As soon as Leandra said it, she felt dread. She could hear her own mother’s voice suddenly in her memory, bleak and cold: It's her life; let her ruin it.
What am I doing? Leandra thought in horror.
Aniya’s spine went straight as her mother wrestled with herself. The younger woman wheeled sharply at the top of the stairs, and the pain in Aniya’s voice was clear.
“And even if you had been, would you have still married Father?”
Leandra went pale, and suddenly, her eyes filled with tears.
Aniya nodded. “I thought so. Good night, Mother.” She inclined her head stiffly, and turned to leave.
“Aniya. I’m so sorry…” Leandra’s voice came out in a choked, sorrowful whisper.
There was no answer. She was speaking to an empty hallway.
EDIT: I finished this as a one-off - "The Amell Line", which will be added to Common Ground once I get to this point in Act II, if anyone's interested.

Indeed Ursula... good prompt, and hopefully a good chapter in your fic!
I've never actually tried to write Leandra. I'm not sure what her voice would be like. She has such little dialogue it is hard to tell sometimes. Though now I'm getting this idea rolling in my head about a scene including her. Hmmm...
