 I'll admit I'm doing a little bit of metagaming on my current PT, especially since they fixed Rival Anders so he'll side with you if you go Templar. The amusing thing is that thanks to also max-friending Fenris as fast as possible, I have Anders max rival as well. We aren't done with the first act. 

I have to admit I get a certain metagaming guilty pleasure by dogpiling Anders with Fenris. It's been fun.

I've decided that I can deal with any problems that annoying Seb with that cause later, once we know wha future DLC we might have to deal with. I can't see Aniya being overjoyed with the idea of being Viscount (and if I can find a way for her to dodge it, I will), but if someone threatens her city, they'd better bring their A game.

They did fix Rival-Anders? When?

I thought they did in the last patch (where they fixed the Fenris/Dog banter). I could be wrong, though.

I haven't Rivalmance Fenris yet.  I want to but I always end up Friendmancing (is that a word ) him.  My other Hawke Rivalmance Merrill but with Fenris I just can't seem to do it.  I guess I like the Friendmance too much..maybe I'll stop metagaming and try it, if they fix the dialogue in Legacy.

Good to know. I'll work on a Rival-mance for him later. I've gotten back into FF13....especially after seeing the FF13-2 trailer....made me want to really beat the game(I have been stuck on Barthendanelus)

Welll, there's a half dozen million ones in this thread that are fenris related. I had one for a while, but then I started quoting YamiSnuffles and other posters from this and the Anders thread, and then I started visiting the Anders thread more frequently... and then it de-evolved into the Anders thread banner..

and then I visited mmo-champion, and rememberd I had a signature there and went to updated it and found that they had the nifty bar thingymabob and made my Clarityrose one out of my RogueHawke's screenshot and used it to link my FF.net!

For Anyone Needing Info on how to get Easy Friendship Points from Fenris in the First Act here are some tips:

The Wayward Son quest will give you 30 Friendship points if you:

Ask Fenris to make Danzig talk when you are in the Darktown part of the quest
Then kill Danzig (he'll just sort of keel over haha )

Pick the "Worth the Risk" option when confronting Feynriel's kidnapper in the cave. Hawke will say go limp Feynriel, or something like that. Fenris will be pleased.

Next, make sure you send Feynriel to the Circle. Don't let him go free. Feynriel won't like it but Fenris will.


Alsoo... Take Fenris and only Fenris to complete the Errant Letter Quest. Talk to Thrask. As tempting as it is to be nice to the poor Templar, if you opt to blackmail him this will give you 10 friendship points from Fenris. If you wish rivalry from just about anyone else bring them along too when you do this. Otherwise just keep it between you and Fenris :-)

ok so that's 40 friendship points right there that are pretty easy as I'm sure some here already know, but if anyone asks, feel free, anyone to copy and paste this info or just pass it along if anyone else asks. These are very tried and true, I've done them several times. There's more too but I'll put them up in a different post. But these are the easiest ones, I think.

@mcilhany - you're right, there are some major friend points to be had from Fen in Act1, he's normally around 90 for me before his quest in Act2

My first pt I ended up in a rivalmance with our Fen, seems sooooo long ago now. Since then all my Hawkes (there have been many, probs too many tbh!) have friendmanced him. I just love the friendmance it makes me quite warm and fuzzy inside which is odd as in rl Im not particularly romantic, my husband of 15years would laugh at me if I went all squishy, luvvy-duvvy on him now lol.

I go click happy on Fen especially in Act3 for the "I'm yours" dialogue, major swoooon time, especially if izzy is in the party when he says it, I'm all like "see that Izz, he's MINE" lol (I love Izzy too but like to rub her nose in the fact he's with me)

I can't quite remember but am I correct that in a rivalmance, you only get "Hawke" from him when clicking on him? or is there a variety of clicky dialogue? Sorry if I'm being lazy and its posted somewhere.

He says "I am yours" reguardless of what path you take. You just -also- get  "Hawke" on rivalry.

Basically, everything he does on a friendmance, he does in a Rivalmance too. The only difference is in the tone and mood in which he speaks with you in. In friendmance he's all "Thx for the gift, I luv it!" and on rival he's all "...wtf do I want that **** for?" In friendmance he's all "omg I can't do this with out you puleeeze come with me to meet my sister" and on rivalmance he's all "... *sigh* I know you don't want to, and I'm not particularly keen on asking, but, I need your help. I think it might be a trap."


Friendmance = puppy eyes and shy smiles
Rivalmance = smouldering glances and swearing in tevinter.

Chirping in meekly because I love the pics, and I can never resist the Friendmance/Rivalmance discussion.

I've done both, but I do want to do another rivalmance. I much prefer friendmance, but in a rivalmance things are so much more complicated and dramatic. Fenris' frustration and anger is so perfectly balanced with his sweetness that it makes for this perfect recipe of "I want to hate you, but how can I?"

The act 3 scene in rivalmance has become one of my favorites of all time. I love how he just unhinges at you and then he's all "but why am I angry at you.." and "what I have done, I have done to myself." He also speaks more about his hate being poison on rivalmance. It's a great scene.

Also, to my Hawke before Varania he was all "If it's a trap I need somebody there who can fight to watch my back." My Hawke was thinking... "Oh, Fenris.. I'll watch your back any day...." The face he gives you with "I know you don't owe me any favors, but if we happen to go by there anyway..." It isn't as sweet as the friendmance look, but it's all smoldering and like "I hate how I need your help, but please..."

Still Friendmance will forever be my personal favorite. Mostly because I don't much like drama or complications and with all they go through Fenris and Hawke have enough problems without throwing their polar opposite views and never agreeing on anything into the mix. Also, the ability for Fenris to really open up to Hawke in a friendmance is what I enjoy the most about it.

Okay, leaving now... *tosses back a shot of cold medicine and slithers away*

I prefer the friendmance, myself, because he's less "MISTAKE!" and more "I'm so sorry *puppy eyes*.  That being said, my Angel rivalmances him, because Anders is her bff 4 lyfe Mage FREEDOOMMMM RABLERABlE *FROTH* and we all know how he feels about mages running amok. Thus it makes no sence story wise for them to be friends. He sure as hell doesn't understand why she continues to troll him, nor why she doesn't just move on to.. Anders.. who seems more her speed.

But, no Anders for her, because adorably grubby apostate boys with adorable hooked noses and an "I need to be fixed" complex aside, she's not that into him.

and.. I'm suposed to be working on my story for berelinde. I should be doing that

This is kinda why I rivalmance Fenris with Marric, it just seems to fit them more and I love how it seems like such a roller-coaster without seeming too at-each-others-throats, and all of Fenris growly moments.

I felt like on the rival path with Fenris he would disagree with you, get incredibly frustrated but it never felt like he hated you. I haven't rivaled anyone else yet but from what I hear they can get pretty... scarey, Aveline punchy scene, Justice yelling at you, Merrill kicking you out... *shrug* my Templar Lady Hawke will eventually be seeing some of that...

I also have an unfortunate habit where once I romance a character with one Warden/Hawke I can't romance them with a different one, it's like they'd be stealing, so if I want to replay the romance I have to replay the old character and their story. I mean I hear people who have five hawkes romancing the same character and it sounds fun but I just... cant. I don't know when I'll feel able to romance Fenris with someone other then Marric to try out the friendmance for myself
