*grumble* I am grumpy, sick and the only good thing in my life at this second is ice cream cake, Dexter and Fenris. And Fenris is being... difficult right now so he and I are not talking. I am also glad I was never on the second chance bandwagon. Thats all for my passive-agressive snipe. (Usually I go aggressive 100% but everyones being so nice... it's very unlike what the internet is usually. It's making me a semi better person. Brava.)

I am trying to play through an Isabela romance but Fen keeps making eyes at my F!Hawke and I am starting to think that the just frienship path may be as, if not a bit more sweet then the friendmance path. I have gotten so much dialogue I have never heard before, it's all very exciting. Except I'll be missing the gallows scene and I have heard a rumour that Fens Gallow scene is the best.

I am too irritated to try and make it through act I quests right now. Some of the quests get to feel really tedious, like the fade quest in origins eventually. Still haven't completed that rivalmance with Fen Fen either. Uhg, I need to plough though it or something, I am in a gaming rut. If Arquen has any screenies of Fen being especially happy I would love to see some. Watching him laugh makes me grin.

This was a few pages back and I didn't see anyone answering, so the answer is Yes. Not just grayed out, full on gone. This game gives so many opportunities to get rid of Fenris (compared to other party members) without killing him it's kinda ridiculous.

-Refuse to help him during Bait and Switch.
-Refuse his assistance after Bait and Switch.
-Refuse to go after Hadriana after the Wrong Way.
-Tell him to take a hike at the end of Bitter Pill.
-Give him to Danarius during Alone.
-Tell him to take a hike during Questioning Beliefs after Alone (Rivalry only).

Wow, that is a lot. I know on my unspoiled PT I skipped Bait and Switch initially because of Aveline's grousing, and almost missed out on Fenris all together! (How could I?!) 

Needless to say, Aveline can shove it and I'll take that +5 friendship after I complete the quest (I also didn't know you got the rivalry back once she accepts we're helping Fenris and not returning some dwarf's illegal stuff.)

Wow. That sounded bad.

Anyway, I 've gone back several pages, and didn't see anything, so...  Was wondering if anyone had any Fenris fanfic recommendations?  Fics near and dear to their hearts?  I'm happy to look myself, but fanfic.net is a bit overwhelming in choice, as is the massively huge kink meme.  I know you guys are experts on Fenris in fandom, so would anyone mind terribly helpiung a lurker out...?  ;D

I missed Fenris the first playthrough, had to computer search to find him. They do indeed give many chances to send him away which further boggles my mind how people that hate Fenris keep him on to kill him or sell him into slavery.

Hey Aeon, Welcome to the Fenris thread. Yah, most of them are crazy insighful but luckily not overbearing so don't be scared. I felt the same way at first since my fortay is less discuss and more gush.  Any preferences, there are so very many good fics. Hilarious art.

Wait...you can get +5 friendship for Aveline, to erase the +5 rivalry, when you agree to help Fenris at the end of Bait and Switch?  I guess I always missed out on that.

What? Oh, yes, so long as you give credit where credit is due, its perfectly fine. An artist will usually tell you/lock the picture/etc etc if they don't it reposted. Just remember to ... flaming... sword.... I.. *drools*

Yep. You take +5 rivalry when you accept the quest from Anso, then get +5 friendship if you take her to Danarius' mansion afterward and complete Bait and Switch with her in the party.

Hmm, I can offer some great slash but I really don't have much by the way of Het as I don't read it. I suggest Coffee, Black  for sure, it isn't finished but it's the best thing at the moment. It's for everyone. Actually I didn't know it but one of the only Het fics I have read was written by her so I would just read all the fics, it is all extremely well done.

We aren't a rare breed Aeon, but we're vital. 

Edit: Omg it's hard to sound coherant while juggling these massive swords.

Good fics?

Well, I've been reading "Towards Better Things". Apparently was a response to kinkmeme/LJ (and I've been trying to find it to no avail) but apparently the FF.net version is different. It's what would've happened if the Hawkes had gone to Tevinter instead of the Free Marches (and if I remember reading the early parts correctly, it's they opt to leave a few years before the Blight instead of being forced to leave because of it). It updates only about once or twice a month, but it's a pretty good fic.

As for fanfics... Oh my so many!

My two fanfics I did are kind of semi-serious. Both with my Fem Hawke. Linkage in my sig.

If you are a kinkster... Dragon Age Kink is the place you want to be. You will find more smut and stuff than you know what to do with.

Also, a lot of us are addicted to Coffee, Black -- An AU fic that features Fenris and Male Hawke. I'm not one for slash or AU either, but this is WELL DONE.

I also recommend some of Ursula's fic.

I recently read a most heartbreaking alternate storyline fic with Fenris and Hawke. I loved it... linked it a bit ago, but don't mind doing it again.

It was a Heartbeat pt 1

No matter how loudly you call side-quel

It was a Heartbeat Sequel

I have a ton of others, but trust me the kink meme will keep you busy for a while! So will coffee, black

The girl who wrote Coffee, Black actually wrote the other fics you recommended to. I can't ignore Anders! What is that face he's making,  I am much more cheerful and the night keeps getting better so thank you ever so Arquen. If anyone has more slash recs I will take those, I am a super picky reader as far as quality goes so FF and the meme can be very hit and miss.
Another slash rec is anything in the Snare universe. There is;

Motes
Caltrops
 
Motes focuses on the blooming relationship between Bethany/Anders and is quite possibly the only in charcter Anders I will ever read.

Eerily attractive is much better. *Hands bandaid*  Though like my edit stated, it did give me a little shock. I find myself strangely entranced by the eyes.
