Double posting because whenever I hit the stupid edit button on my last post the box to type in won't show up.

Has anyone put this art up yet?

I'm oddly inspired to pop in my DA2 disk and start playing now or to write me some smut.

oooo I love it.

Seriously considering hiring on a commission since I haven't seemed to find time to do anymore art. LOL, well with being sick, and hanging around the kink_meme, and having to work I'm not surprised.

Added Naiad to my Tumblr... such beautiful and UNF work. Makes me seriously want to draw some more Fenris...

MRC... writing smut is fun, but another PT is more fun! Then again, you can do both... and it helps your smut stay semi-in character. NO I have not done this nor am I speaking from personal experience *whistles innocently*

Hahahaha!

Nope, I didn't restart Aniya's PT for science and for memory refreshers to try to stay In Character...Nope.

@Nilf, if you play as a human male you can have Gideon Emery's voice. Just choose the "Mysterious" option. I did that and then created a Warden to look as similar to Fenris as possible. Like his human noble cousin or something. 8D It was pretty cool.

Alas, I heard about this too late: my Male Warden PT was already done. Posted Image

Beautiful ToP pic there.

I like it TaHol. Makes me want to bust out my pencils again... Ahh but I just started going digital. LOL.

Still, tha smirk. Proportions are well done. I think his eyebrows should be black, but that's just nit-picky.

The overall is very well done. I see it and I think "Fenris" right off. True to form. Good work!

No harm in doing another one, though, is there? I think I've completed Origins six times now, and the first thing I do after completing the game is to start up another character. :]

Aah, now you mention it, they should be black! They were white in the reference I used, and I had forgotten he actually has black eyebrows. Damn! Well, what is done is done :)

Emotional Content: High.

Love. Murder. Betrayal.

These are very real issues. Games who make the attempt to implement emotional content will without question elicit emotional responses from players. That in and of itself is not a bad thing.

I chose Fenris because:

Well, he's awesome!

I liked the Romance Ending. And all of the cutscenes and artwork...the wonderful voice of Gideon Emery, and I loved that he does not give you the option of breaking up with you + I can't tell you how great that was for me. I'm not the type of person who likes loose ends.

For the longest time I thought Anders would have to be my love interest because it does seem as though his life depends on it. I have in fact completed a run through with him, where Fenris and I are "just friends", and Fenris will stillllll say the sweetest thing to you after you help him defeat Danarius in the Questioning Beliefs End-Stage relationship quest. He'll say, "wherever the Future leads, I hope it will be At Your Side." That alone as if there werent enough reasons allready to go back to him. But Anders will commit suicide at any rate if you side with the Templars. It hurt. It really hurts. I see Ulti's point of view and see Harle's that maybe Fenris could stand to not be coddled so much. And Sebastian, as much as I love him too, is, at least not yet, convincing enough as a Romance Partner. And yet I have a playthrough played up to the middle of the Third act with him, we're
"married" and everything. Sebastian needs to be developed much much more.

This game, it's good. My boyfriend, knowing how much I'd obsessed over Origins asked me how I liked this one since he hasn't gotten around to playing it yet. I told him I think it's the best game I've ever played: The music, the motion capture, the production quality and even with the added bonus of a heated romance! what more could one ask for. And...later... I began having some issues with the emotional content. But I can live with them as long as there is any kind of idea they could get addressed as development continues.

Indeed I love the talent on the Fenris thread. Is it weird that there are so many talented writers/artists around here? Lol

At work again... bleh. Started another Fenris pic tho. Still a WIP, but with all the screenies and fanfic I couldn't help myself!

Had a thought while sketching Fenis' armor. I've seen a few fics where he repairs his own gear, but I wonder if he actually does. I think it makes sense, but where would he have learned? As a slave? Would he just be forced to do it and learn out of necessity? Is it some special Tevinter fabric/leather. I imagine it is hard to repair lol. Plus wtf does he keep in those belt pockets? Snacks? Potions? Emergency bandages?

Random thoughts are random....

Oh crap, now I want to see some crack fic about him eating snickers and kitkats from his pouch. Change, a camera, I.D... the usual things you find in fanny packs. :P

Why do people hate constructive crit these days. I mean I understand that I would be angry if someone said "YER story suks, go dieeeeee!" But hearing "Your character is a bit of a Mary/Gary Stu shouldn't set people on the path of self hate, the problem is easily solved and, uhg. I am a biting at the bit cookie who just wants to offer some helpful advice. I take helpful... and less then helpful comments all the time, I want them, they make you a better writer. Why would anyone only be willing to listen to praise on their less then stellar work? Unless their story only deserves praise. Ah well. vent, vent rant. It's on topic cause its a Fen fic that has me on edge at this particular moment.

Edit: I am incapable of spelling character and remember correctly the first time.Posted Image

This, so much. (I say this as I write revisions to a chapter where I really did go off the rails but got some great suggestions on how to get back to where it needs to be. This is all thanks to comments and suggestions which I greatly appreciate!  )

And just to keep things on topic...Well, maybe it's more stylish than Hawke's 4 or 5 packpacks of carrying all kinds of crap around? :)  Style matters, and Fenris has that in plenty.

So, I have officially gone to the Deep Roads in Act One with Carver for the first time. I'm sad for Leandra, but I always am, poor thing. I absolutely love the resemblance of her to Gamlen and her children. The only thing is I can't take Fenris! I guess i'll just have to rationalize that he's on one of his mercenary jobs or whatever because I think he would want come with Hawke. Aveline doesn't seem to mind being left behind and Anders hates the deep roads. But, for once, I feel better about my relationship with Carver and him not wanting to be left out of things.

I like the cutscene with Carver and Anders there. I hadn't seen it before. And one thing really good about having Fenris maxed one way or another on Friendship/Rivalry, is you can go have those nice chats with him and do his quest and everything right off the bat. Simply go to his house, talk with him, gather your party at his house and go to Sundermount (with him in the party of course :-))

Oh but before I forget, you can get a great sword for Fenris from doing The Lost Patrol given to you by a Qunari outside the Qunari compound at the docks. This sword is worth getting. It will be great for Fenris or for you if you specialize in Two-Handed Weapons. If you need another good sword don't worry. Do Blackpowder Courtesy as soon as you can. A good two-handed sword will drop from the main boss. That way, if necessary, you will have good two-handed swords for yourself and Fenris.

Not mine is it!? Lmao...

There was a tweet on david gaiders account asking him if he meant Marian Hawke and Garrett Hawke to be a pun on Mary Sue and Gary Sue... he said it totally wasn't intentional, but he now wished it was... lmao.

The term is associated with insult to some fiction writers. It is offensive, and they will froth. Not your fault if your trying to be helpful, but people take things different ways. I always appreciate critiques and will give as good or bad as people allow me. Im blunt by nature so I don't get offended easily, but I watch myself when critiquing because some people totally don't take it well.

As for Fenris.. I vote snacks....

Hawke: Maker, we've been traveling for days!! No food.. water running low... ughh

*hears crunching noise behind her*

Hawke: wtf was that? Who has food!?

*Fenris quickly clamps his mouth shut but obviously still has something in his mouth*

Hawke: Fenris! Where did you get food! Dammit, you've been holding out on us?

Fenris: it is my emergency rations. I... didn't think you would want any. I will share, however.. if you wish.

Hawke: im starving! Hand it over!

*Fenris hands her a pouch from his belt pocket*

Hawke: wait.. is this a mushroom from your mansion..?

Fenris: As I said. Emergency rations...

Hawke: *sigh* now that I know you keep snacks im so making you carry candybars or something. You obviously don't know how to choose good snackfood...

Fenris: my pockets are not meant as your personal choice carrying bag, hawke. However, I think your right. I shall reconsider my snack choices.

Ha, started giggling at *hears crunching noise behind her* and imagine wide eyed Fenris with puffed out cheeks. And seriously Fen, gross, Mushrooms are not supposed to crunch... what were the mushrooms growing from? So many questions.

Nope not your's. :P It's actually a fic on the kink meme that has gotten a fair amount of reviews and I just want to mention that their Hawke is a bit like Bella, everyone loves and only the flaw is bumbling awkwardness, I want to want to read the fic and have actually sat down a couple times and forced myself to read I get through a chapter and give up. My fave characters need flaws, something that makes them relatable. Maybe I'm weird like that.

Not Coffee,Black Hawke of course who's social awkwardness is better done and superior to miss Swans. Posted Image

You know I wish we could get a small update on the possibility of Legacy fixes, or even Zevran fixes. I'm not usually one to kick a dead horse but I need more Fen/Zev time for serious.Posted Image

Losing it at " I shall reconsider my snack choices." I love how you always manage to get Fenris' some what odd formality in your writing of him Arquen. It's one of my favourite things about his speech patterns, like when he says "I shall endeavour to exist with less offence."

Ffffff! There are wolf spiders outside my door that rival a shrimp. I can't imagine facing down giant spiders, given how these ones scare the crap out of me. Anyone who says they wish they lived in a video game, and there are always giant spiders in every video game, is lieing or insane. Seriously if there were coin sized dragons making a home out of my doorway then bring it, but natures nightmare. Uh no thanks. I'll stay in my world with raid.

The ones that knock you down and eat your face. DA 2 gampley peoples, Fenris thanks you for removing this feature. He would refuse to come along quests if they still had the ability to do more the rear and nip. More so because I tend (my Hawkes tend) to shriek (in a very manly way) and throw Fenris at the spiders like a big, blue. glowy grenade of lyruim phasing. Posted Image The things my precious Tevinter has to do because I control hi-- *ahem* I mean out of love for Hawke. Dragons also have this effect but Hawke isn't half so traumatized watching a dragon lumber up and toss Fenris around like pizza dough. He is the best shield boyfriend ever. Posted Image Actually I think if my Hawkes weren't so damn hot Fennie would murderknife them. By hot I mean if there were no such thing as plot armour.

I kind of love incapacitating battle animations, I feel like I should be yelling "Oh no! No nonono make it stop! Getitoff!" during a fight ^^; so I kind of miss the overwhelming spider attack~ But there's still dragons and ogres, not to mention the Arishok and his horrible; I'ma-stab-you-and-lift-you-up-like-a-rag-doll move. That certainly had me cringing at my screen.

MMmm I hear you, I was waiting for all my guts to come spilling out on the withdraw and was all "Thanks Fenris, one on one battle was a great idea for my squishy MAGE!" He just laughed and pointed. The battle the first time was very run while swigging lyrium/health potions, stop, cast, run more and I just know Fen was facepalming the entire time.

The first time I was relying heavily on ice, Marric has no debuffs, later I played a mage that was all about debuffs and the fight was so much easier when you can stun him left right and centre (using horror on the Arishok is so very satisfying~)

"Stop getting hit Hawke!"
"Oh gee, thanks for the TIP FENRIS"

also obligatory aimo goodness

Exxxxxaaacctlllyyyy... I think I did a prompt about the Arishok fight once... have to dig it up when I get home.
Dawwww your comments about my Fenris voice filled me with warm fuzzies Rei. There is a Fenris that lives in my head now. I blame him. Lol.

Of all the chars I had the most difficulty with my rogue. I didn't have so much probe with my mage because I play mages/casters in all my other games and I can kite like a mofo. That force slow skill and my ice spells were my best friend. Also my mabari. Lol.

Mushrooms that grow in mansions near corpses tend to crunch. That is all...
