No, don't think he will be like Solaufein.
David stated in the past Fenris is inspired by Valen, and they do share a few similar points. Somehow for Solaufein it is very unlikely, unless...he had some former lover, a powerful Trevinter magister like Phaere.

Unique accent that would call someone out... And Gaider imagined the voice actor voicing Fenris during his creation...
When I think of Tevinter, I imagine Byzantine Empire ala the slavic area (Not Italian. Italian = Roman Catholic, Byzantine = Eastern Europe). Anyone know any slavic-American actors? Can't be too many of those, right?

The Byzantine Empire is rather far from anything Slavic, unless they intend to incorporate them together in Thedas.

I meant be like Solaufein in that he would be kind of stoic and abrasive at first until you helped him out/were kind to him even when he was grumpy/responded to his insults with snappy banter. BG2 actually had a "Solaufein likes" score behind the scenes. I also meant being dead sexy with a deep voice like Solaufein.

Lol don't feel bad you aren't alone. I've been searching for baldur's gate (I&II) and neverwinter nights (I&II) for forever. Online is the only place left to go.
@tankgirly
That pic is amazing... Totally how I pictured him, too.
I could be behind it if Fenris has a little of Solaufein's acerbic wit when it comes to insults. The exchanges that Solaufein had with Phaere were priceless.
I only came up with Goran Visnjic a couple pages ago... but only because I like his accent and not out of any real hope that he's Fenris' VO.When I think of Tevinter, I imagine Byzantine Empire ala the slavic

Europe). Anyone know any slavic-American actors? Can't be too many of

Although another name that sprang to mind was Michael Hollick, who did Niko Bellic, the Serbian main character of Grand Theft Auto IV... He could be on a lot of game developer's short lists for voice work because he got so much acclaim for it.

He speaks fluent English + Russian.
He fits geek sensibilities.
He is probably affordable.
That is my best guess.

The Surviving Eastern Orthodox Church is mostly located in Russia, and it is what remains of the Byzantine christian religion. Hence why I assume Russia.

Humph...I suppose now it does kind of make sense if you put it this way.
@Minxie18, to be honest I had never played BG I and BG II. But a friend of mine over at FFN is doing a fanficce about Solaufein at the moment so I kind of got all the info from her. Since I am already a fan of Drow, it is only natural for me to fall for the charming Drow commandar in the series.

And in Greece, the Balkans and the whole of Eastern Europe. Besides that, there are basically only some inspirations in architecture and aspirations to be the one true Rome, that they have in common.
The names and information we have been given about do not ring very Slavic to me, to be honest. Unlike Orlais, which fully shows similarities to its inspirations. But I just may be delusional again, in general.

My apologies if this has been mentioned before, but there's 177 pages of posts on this guy. Anyway, am I the only one who read his description and thought "Wolverine?!?" An unusual proceedure wiped his memory and turned him into a living weapon.. Please someone explain to me how I am wrong here.
Dammit, now I want to see Fenris in Wolverine's yellow outfit and a Prof Xavier-esque companion.

He came up along with my personal favorite: Jason Bourne.

Phil Lamarr? That man can voice anything, I especially loved his work as Vamp from Metal Gear Solid.

Nope you're not the only one who thought about Wolverine. I think it was the screenshot where Fen fights an enemy and blood is flying around along with his description which made me think so. I can just imagine Fenris with Wolverines temper/aggression (at least in battle).

Hence why I assume an eastern european / slavic accent.
Gosh, I just wish Gaider would throw us a bone about the voice or come right out and say "It is BLAAAANK! Wallah! Now go crash Youtube while looking up BLAAAAANK at the same time!"

We'll probably get neither-- Mr. Gaider is being a very vague person determined to keep everything under wraps.

Maybe he's one of the followers who can update their armor? Just saying.. It could still happened.

I bet Fenris will be funny in his own way. I mean, even Sten and Nathaniel had funny lines.
Oghren: The whole "quiet and stoic" thing must get you a lot of action, huh?
Nathaniel: I take you are an admirer, Oghren?
Oghren: What? No! No, well not unless--no!
Nathaniel: Good. Then I needn't worry about getting too drunk at camp.
Oghren: Heh. Okay, I like you. Just not in that way.
Sigrun: I found something under my bed at the keep. Something tells me it's yours.
Nathaniel: Miss Maggie! I remember her. She's not mine--she belonged to my sister, Delilah. Miss Maggie was her favourite doll.
Sigrun: Miss Maggie appears to be missing her arms.
Nathaniel: Delilah and I had a fight. Then I ripped off Maggie's arms and hid them in places where Delilah would find them later.
Sigrun: What a sweetheart you were.
