He even makes a comment about how she came back, expresses that he's impressed she did, and then says how he "totally knew it." Because he and she are a lot alike in a lot of ways. Except that he's got a Justice living in his head now. So he can't be that way anymore.

It seemed strange, to me, that most of the Anders/Isabela banters had the two of them sounding... close/comfortable, but then there's still that one banter where she tells him she doesn't like him. Posted Image and she sounded serious enough. It doesn't seem to quite fit.

That banter is odd.  I think I have only triggered it once, but I have a vague recollection of it becuse I went...Wait what did she say..., type of reaction.

Nice picture!

She doesn't actually say she doesn't like him. This is the dialogue in question, in full.

Anders: "I can't believe you're still not taking sides."
Isabela: "I told you, I only like to be on top."
Anders: "I mean against the templars! You like freedom, right? You hate slavery. Why wouldn't you side with the mages?"
Isabela: "Maybe I just don't like you."

The way she says it sounds more just "fed up at the moment" than actually like she seriously dislikes him. It rather reminds me of this conversation:

Justice: "I believe you have a responsibility to your fellow mages."
Anders: "That bit of self-righteousness is directed at me?"
Justice: "You have seen oppression and are now free. You must act to free those who remain oppressed."
Anders: "Or I could mind my business, in case the Chantry comes knocking."
Justice: "But this is not right. You have an obligation."
Anders: "Yes, well... welcome to the world, spirit."

That fits better, then. Figures I only remembered part of it. Posted Image
I don't suppose anyone's ever caught if Anders makes any comments during Fenris/'bela banters? Like how Merrill sometimes makes odd comments("I don't get it"). Or Fenris' chuckle after "Aveline... if you stick your thumb up his ass, I win."

It rather reminds me of this conversation:

Justice: "I believe you have a responsibility to your fellow mages."
Anders: "That bit of self-righteousness is directed at me?"
Justice: "You have seen oppression and are now free. You must act to free those who remain oppressed."

Justice: "But this is not right. You have an obligation."
Anders: "Yes, well... welcome to the world, spirit."

Well, hopefully Isabela won't be possessed, at least. Posted Image I think she'd do/not do certain things just to ****** Justice(or whatever other spirit) off.

My word, talking about the relationship between Anders and Isabela in the Fenris thread?

Anders doesn't really interject into other peoples' banters too often. The one where Isabela and Varric are doing "big fish" stories and the one where Fenris is talking to Varric about the origin of the name "Hanged Man" are the only two I can think of off the top of my head. But then, I've always got exactly the wrong party for interjections whenever these banters come up. When Fenris and Anders have their cat fight, I never seem to have Isabela along. When Isabela is sharing her "friend fiction" with Varric, I never have Aveline in the party. I'm just unlucky that way.

Not just you!  I pretty much cart Fenris everywhere (if to do nothing else but to look at !) so that only leaves 2 other slots, and I NEVER have the right people to fit the banter!

Quick question. I'm playing a flirty lady Hawke, and want to sleep with both Anders and Fenris but END UP WITH Fenris.

Is this possible?

Eg. At the start of Act II could I do Anders' personal quest and QB, sleep with him then break it off? And then do Fenris' quest and QB and still get him to sleep with me?

Thank you!

I don't think it's possible. If you start a romance before Fenris, you won't get the flirty options with Fen that start his romance.
I think someone said that as long as you end things with whoever you romanced first, Fenris should still be available, but I don't think it works for everyone. Never worked for me. Posted Image

Edit: @ the above: Of course not. Isabela's having her Fenris. Posted Image

Technically speaking, its possible. You -should- be able to sleep with anders and then be all "You're just not that good*TROOOOLL*" and THEN romance Fenris, but...

Fenris is buggy. like 65% of the time, if you romance/sleep with someone else first, he'll break and you are unable to start the romance up with him.

So, you can always try, but make sure you make a LOT of saves, so you can go back to a point previous (with out having to go back to the begining) should he bug.

And thanks for the help, everyone!

welp, I'm 20 today. Still working on two Origins PTs, stuck on an amazing number of side quests. And it troubles me that I am more focused on that than college.

The funny thing is, though I only have one or two Hawkes who actually complete the Fenris romance, I don't have a single Hawke who doesn't at least do Fenris's one night hook-up. Coraline might not, but it all depends on whether or not Anders gets to her first... (since she's my "Anders apology" Hawke for real this time... the last one went off the rails and ended up with Isabella.)

The way the Fenris romance starts... seems so spontaneous that my Hawkes have trouble turning it down if they're not already spoken for. I mean he shows up, there's the kiss, and they're just like "meh, guess I'll go with it! Hot guy kissing me? Sure, why not!" And while I personally know all the emotions that are tied up in it, my Hawkes don't.

So far only Crow does the "hat trick," and I don't have a Merrill romance.

Yeah, I did run one Hawke that was never interested to begin with and therefore never even flirted once, but most of them are OK with getting a bit carried away. There were a few that would have stopped the action after the big wall-slam (Why don't we get a chance to stop it there? One of those Hawkes would have said "OK, I'm still game, but you really, really need to chill."), but most of them have been "OK, you like to play rough? Let's see how you like it!". No wonder he left. Posted Image

Honey, I'm home! Uhg I strongly suggest everyone goes to New York and see Wicked on Broadway. Fanfreakintastic, but I was murdered by plane rides, I don't fly well, plus we were there for the 9/11 memorials which were so freaking sad. Uhg, heartbreaking.

On a happier note whenever we weren't up in the air Kindle did it's dirty work and found me some Coffee, Black and it was all so nice to have around.

So much convo to catch up on. I think there are not many people Isabella doesn't like, I mean she even gets along with Sebastian, she is very much like Awakening Anders where everytime a serious convo comes up she is vere "Ahhhh run for the hills!" So I can see he getting pissy with Anders hounding her.

The closest I've gotten was romancing Anders after Fenris walked, and then changing my mind at the last minute. Anders actually made that an easy call by being a jerk about Fenris as soon as he walked in the door.

Thank you all for the reassurance. I may be crazy, but at least I'm not alone. ;)

Julian is probably one of my favorite PC's ever--which is hilarious, because I was positive I wasn't going to have any emotional investment in Hawke. I also thought I'd never be able to play male Hawke because Nicholas Boulton = Vaughan in my mind. Go figure.

Darkrose don't you love that voice?

to everyone: Nicholas Boulton is so great. I have some hilarrrrrious examples of where his "funny" Hawke responses have left me on the floor laughing. I have to try to explain it to you. you guys may already know what I mean but I have to tell you anyway. My boyfriend will only tolerate so much of my endless fits of laughter. And I mean the kind where I can't even speak I'm laughing so hard and my stomach really starts to hurt. But it feels good :-)

Am I the only one who felt an incredible pang of jealousy when I saw this picture? GET YOUR FILTHY PIRATE HANDS OFF MY FENRIS, ISABELLA! (Funny how Fenris is the one holding her here, though). URGH!
