Well let's start something interesting!  Thoughts?  Fenris as a mage?  Finds out after DA2??  Danarius was actually his father?  Any of this?  :D

Fenris as a mage?  That would require him to do a lot of soul searching...it's interesting thought.  Danarius as his father....that's a little to Star Wars Luke-Darth Vadar-ish to me :P.  But scary.

It has gotten a little quiet.  I have been playing Deus Ex so I haven't been very focused on DA2.

It's quiet because most of our active posters are sleeping, or working ;p

And I.. am carefully sorting through live-journal, after figuring it out finally (I am so past feeling old right now that my BONES are laughing at me) and reading :)

I should be writing. I should. I even totally have a Beta and another one who's offered.. but I keep wanting to write from Angel's point of view of the world, rather then my Tabris story or Kirkwall High or.. bah!

So, I'm reading ;p

Ok true on the Star Wars thing, but it just popped into my head.
And how is Deus ex?  Looks like it could be good....

One thing I did find interesting about Fenris was his relationship with Donnic.

I really have enjoyed it!   It's fun.  It's an action game....a shooter at its core.  But there are so many different ways to approach each mission.  Stealth or all out warfare, the takedowns are gold but it's not an RPG, as I said it is very FPS-Action type game.

I have the impression Fenris and Donnic got along quite well.  I think there is dialogue to that effect.

Yes there is some party banter indicating it - it was just nice to see Fenris perhaps "letting his hair down" and trusting some people by Act III...

I'm battling high fevers, pain and illness at the moment. Haven't felt terribly inspired to write for the prompt. Also, I've been working a lot lately and it has been rather busy. No time to post from work, BLEH.

That being said -- DON'T STOP THE PROMPTS TANK!! For those looking for the last prompt it was:

1. Mermaid.
2. Lyrium Well.
3. Feather.
4. Library
5. Tent
6. Broth.

I usually save them in a notepad for future reference because sometimes they do get lost in the thread. So, there you guys go. The prompts are something I love about this thread. I miss Dr. Doctor, and I know we've been sucking it up when it comes to prompts, but I enjoy them anyways. Sometimes I just don't have inspiration. My writing muse is a finicky thing.

To chime in on the fish banters -- I actually love that reaction. The whole fish thing is one of those endearing little qualities that I love how they threw in there.

We had a discussion not terribly long ago about the banter Fenris has with you at page 1730+

I'll quote because my opinion hasn't changed, LOL.

I completely agree about the Fenris dialogue after Leandra. In fact I find it exactly what my Hawkes want to hear most of the time. They don't want "sorry for your loss," and explanations of why's and platitudes. They just want someone there. Someone they care about.

When he says: "To be honest I don't see much point in filling these moments with idle talk." I completely agree. When a tragic event like that occurs there really isn't anything to say. It is just enough to know that he comes by and tries. That is enough for my Hawkes.

Also,

I absolutely love it when he sits down more.

I think my favorite
of them is the "they say, death is only a journey... does that help?"
and I follow up with "It just raises questions... journey to where?" and
he goes "I don't know... It's just something people say." and then the
best "to be honest I don't see much point in filling these moments with
idle talk."

The way he goes "does that help?" makes me smile. I love how you try! E for EFFORT.

Also,
my Hawke as well wants some kind of hug or touch or something. In my
headcanon she has herself lean her head on Fenris while he is sitting
beside her. Not much, but something, and mayhaps it turns into a hug.
Yet none of my Hawke's are the especially over the top in need of hugs
and want to cry their eyes out. At that point it is to soon, they are
somewhere between denial and bargaining at that point. It isn't until
later that the anger, depression comes out, and they are alone for that
mostly by choice.

I find Fenris' dialogue to be very realistic. I actually never found his rage at magic over the top. In fact listening to his reactions and history you would assume he would be *more* hateful than he actually is.

Danarius couldn't be Fenris' father I'm pretty sure - because Fenris would be human if he was. (This is what happens with half-elves; the kids are always human.)

Me too! i'm becoming selective about my fish. As Isabella would say her sailors are touchy about their toast, I am becoming touchy about my fish. It won't be long before I am a vegetarian either, Omearaee. Just not into meat anymore and my boyfriend keeps claiming he wants to live healthier. Not that you can't be healthy and eat meat, I just...I don't know. I'm losing my appetite for meat, especially these last few years.

Cosmo, I saw a mod with Fenris in it where I swear he looked like a mage! He was wearing a coat, probably the same one that was discussed earlier, and I swear it looked like he had a staff on his back! He'd probably be a really good battle-mage and maybe it would make him a little more sympathetic toward the mages. I saw what you put about the fish and you're right, he may not like fish. Fleshdress is right too, in that sometimes the smell of fish is really gross. I was at a crabcake Fishmarket the other day here in Annapolis. It smelled terrible but of course the crabcakes were wonderful. I like Sushi too but only very specific kinds and it has to be verrrry fresh. Otherwise I won't touch it. I rarely make fish here at home. My boyfriend won't touch fish with a ten-foot pole.

Well, Arquen you are a very strong woman. My Hawkes would prefer a "Hold me," option, and cutscene with Fenris putting his arm around me, or embracing me.

Guys, put up anything. Even if you think it's stupid, trust me it isn't. I loved that Berelinde asked about that Fish dialog. I love that scene. And I don't know how Heiden managed to write down that sound Fenris makes so accurately; that was so great. :-).

If you're bored, just go read Coffee, Black. That's the Livejournal link, there's also an AO3 version, which is easier to read but not quite as up-to-date.

Edit to say that it is NSFW text. I mean you probably could have guessed. But figured I ought to be safe.

I eat up Coffee, Black chapters like no tomorrow. Just finished chapter 40. *fangirl sigh*

My brain isn't working very well right now. Fighting a 102 fever. Slightly delirious. So my critical thinking and analysis skills have dipped somewhat.

Still, I had a fantastic fever dream about Fenris.... muahahaha.

I usually end up reading some fanfic to get my Fenris fix as well.
Although tomorrow I'm replaying Awakening so I get different outcomes in Dragon Age 2.
I was so excited about DA2 that I only played Awakening once (pathetic since I played DAO about 8 times).

Now I want Fever dreams.

Holy shiza it is freaking cold here. It brought to mind what the weather is like in Kirkwall and if like Zev, Fenris freezes his (well formed) tushie off. I imagine Serheron to be quite warm and the boy just looks like a creature of summer.

I am completely in love with Coffee, Black, and totally enjoying their base rounding. *brow waggle* Super hot/awkward. Plus, drugged Garrett; "Don't laugh at me." I have so been there.

I am trying to playthrough a Isabela romance but act 1 is dragging.

Must take my frozen fingers to work now alas, the slave driver calls!.

Feel free, guys to discuss what you've been reading tho. It won't spoil it for me. i have sooo many things backed up for reading it's not even funny. I can't imagine I'll even begin to get to some of them.

Cosmo, I love DAO. I played the expansion more because I had such a crush on Nathaniel. I've only played DAO completely through twice.

I keep hoping for a Fenris dream, but my mind is messing around with me. It's like there will be something that reminds me of the game and reminds me of Fenris even, but it has yet to actually be him I think. I wish I remembered my dreams better.

Where are you that it's so cold already?  Although fall has definitely settled in here already...I had to make the call to have the pool closed :crying:

Coffee, Black is really good!  Thanks for the reference!

Yes, Fleshdress, where are you? I was wondering the same thing...and you made a really good point about weather in games! I wonder about those kinds of things too.

Arcane_Solona, are you English?

Cosmoooo. you are so cool. you are right about Danarius! He is Fenris's father in a sense. That was something, I never would have though of that. But you are completely right! Fenris (not Leto) is Danarius's brainchild in a sense. He customized Fenris for himself.

Also, people, I am confused. I'm sure Ursula is right that it is probably written somewhere that there are no Half-Elves. But Feynriel does have half-elven features if you look really close. Been confused about this subject for awhile now.

Good, good discussion topics, Cosmo :-).

It could be depending on whether the elvish blood comes from the mother's side or father's? Coming from one side, it might be dominant, but coming from the other it might be... recessive? or whatever the opposite of dominant is called. Can't remember. I was never good at science(read as: I loathe science. Image IPB )

Oooh, that is true (although I was thinking more in the literal sense as I was trying to wake up the thread )

I'm curious about the half-elven thing too.

I'm thinking it's more specific to the fantasy story and universe.  Some perhaps are more human and others are more elven...

For Arquen, and for prompt!

Broth

Bohdan: I'm sorry Master Fenris, but you cannot see Lady Hawke at this time. She is battling an illness.

Fenris: Nonsence. Move aside, Bodhan.

Bohdan: N-no, I cannot allow you to pass. Master Anders has forbidden it.

Fenris: You are going to tell me that The Abominiation has forbidden me access to Hawke?

Bohdan: I-uh, Master Anders was very clear... n-no one was to bother her while she recovers.

Varric: Bah, Bodhan. Blondie might be Hawke's doctor, but there's no reason we can't come in. Besides, we brought Broth! Broth's always good for what ails you.

Bohdan: OH! Master Varric. I didn't see you there behind th..behind Master Fenris. You're welcome to come in.

Fenris: But I'm not?

Varric: Heh, trust me Bohdan, better to let us both pass. We wont be long, and if you don't.. well. Let's just say that a fist in the chest from the Elf is more painful then it sounds.

Fenris: Listen to The Dwarf if you know what is good for you.

Bohdan: Alright.. but if Master Anders hears word..

Varric: Blondie wont mind, and if he does, he can take it up with me.

There, see? Varric and Fenris are bringing you Broth :wizard: Because they love our Arquen Hawke ;)

OMG thank you Heiden -- I definitely smiled. Especially since I hate company when I am sick. I am rather loner in that regard. I don't like people around, even my boyfriend, when I'm feeling ill. *cuddles Heiden*

I think the point is that half-elves are born more human than elf. It seems that half-elves tend to get more human features and none of them would be mistaken for an elf.

LOL, my dream was -- interesting...

Fenris and Hawke, in Tevinter after the rebellion started. Not Minrathous but a small city sort of outside Tevinter that reminded me of St. Petersburg for some reason. Why they are there -- I think it was either because they followed something about slavers taking advantage of the rebellion and all the lost souls and kidnapping them.

Anyways, infiltrating the whole slaver ring... much fun ensues, but get caught by some powerful blood mage/magister. Offers a deal because he actually recognizes Fenris as Danarius' pet and they all know what happened to Danarius. Basically ends up in Hawke/Fenris killing slavers and ripping up Tevinter, LOL. Plus some sexy-times... ahh good dreams.
