Gaider loves his characters. I don't buy it.. he knows them inside out. He even says he hates all fanfiction and reading anything else on his characters that people do because it feels like "cheating on his wife or something." Like someone else is touching his baby.
Plus he did a tweet not to long ago about a fan that had come up to him and told him he was WRONG about his character. It was something like "That awkward moment when someone tells you that you are wrong about a character you created..." He's created so many good characters.. Alistair and Fenris being among them. He knows about his characters.. he loves them. They are his children, his creations. I don't think you can presume that he doesn't know his characters just because you don't agree about certain things. What comes from the writer IS canon. That is just how it goes. There isn't a reason to dispute it.
I don't think I ever caught the explanation of that particular name for himself.tankgirly wrote...
The Grand Poobah said Fenris is inspired by Valen Shadowbreath from Neverwinter series. He took the liberty to dig a little deeper, about his angsy bits that is.
And this is ridiculously addictive. *watches over and over again*TOP:

Guys I don't buy it. David Gaider doesn't know his own character.

BTW, Gaider created two very different
but really great guys - Alistair and Fenris. He's a fantastic writer as
far as I am concerned. Did he write Nathaniel? Because if he did, he
pretty much hits it out of the park for me.

That is so cool Fleshdress. Another of my favorite places. And from the way you described it, yest that would feel quite cold. I'm looking forward to later on in the week, when temperatures are set to drop here in Maryland for the first time in many many months it seems. And it would be so nice to have a drier climate. And I love the mountains.
Back on Topic: don't you guys hate when you click on Fenris and get the abrupt "We should move on," response?"
Arcane_Solona, I meant to tell you that I too was wierded out when the kiss after the pushing Hawke against the wall. It really doesn't look good. If you're on the friendship path, you can opt to let Fenris go after you do the Hadriana quest. He'll come back to your apartment and be sooo sweet.
I do wish that they would fix the animation where he shoves you against the wall because otherwise it's really cute. I love how he'll push you against the wall, glow and stare at you, then he makes the cutest expression like he's getting turned on, it almost looks like he's making this little gulp of realization, and then Hawke jumps him.
Arquen will for sure know what I mean since she's into all the Fenspressions :-).
