As much as I love the voice I'm not one to go buy everything up by Gideon Emery. I do love his versatility, but Fenris' voice is rather unique and acted uniquely.

While some of his other stuff is "Fenris-like" it doesn't have the same type of impact that Fenris did on me. *shrug* I just don't know if I could buy stuff based on his voice alone.

As far as Tallis -- I am disliking that people are labeling her a "sue" just based on vague information and random images. I am reserving judgement on her character until I actually meet her. The party thing is still potential to be interesting, but people are getting way to hung up on this "fancy dresses and OMG party" thing.

Gah, and my streak of snarly continues... I sound so Debbie Downer.. Bah maybe I'll just take a break from the forums for a couple days, LOL.

I agree - I'm waiting until Oct 11 to judge (although I do find it a fun pasttime!)
I am hoping for more Fenris fun and dialogue and I'd love it if there was an indication of my undying love for him, but hey, I enjoyed Legacy even with his "bugged" dialogue!

Alright, so I've decided that on my Warrior PT of Origins, I don't want to do Awakening. I don't know why but my Warrior feels tiresome and boring. So, if I skip Awakening, does the game default on what my Warrior did in Awakening? If so, what are the defaults?

I didn't play Awakening with all my Wardens, and I don't believe there is any specific Awakening content in DA2 unless you import an Awakening PT character.  I could be mistaken, but I've never had any where my import has only been a DA:O PT...

You get an extra quest with Nathaniel if he survived your Awakening playthrough. Just importing from Origins and skipping ahead to Awakening won't give you that. There'll also be quests depending on how you resolved the amaranthine/vigil's keep conflict at the end and what you had your soldiers protecting, if I remember right.  So I'd say it's worth finishing Awakening if you're on the console, if only to have Nathaniel in DA2.

The party thing can't be the DLC.  I think it's suppose to be as long as Legacy in playing time.  So that will be just one part and most likely a small part since there will be no dance scene.  Which I think, they were going to do originally.

As for the DLC it isn't fair to judge it until it's out.  It just hasn't impressed me as much a Legacy did (at this stage).  When I first heard about Legacy, I really wanted it. I couldn't wait for it to come out.  This one, so far it sounds okay.  I'm just not hooked.  Ironically, I probably will love it, as that always seems to be the way.:P

I just want some Fenris LI dialogue.  That's all, and I will be very happy. :D

I'm really tempted to put up a "dear mike laidlaw" post up on the general forums just to make sure the devs don't break Fenris again. -_-

"Dear Mikey-poo. We love you, us Fenris fans. That being said, please do make sure that Fenris' romance flags are firing for this new DLC. They didn't work in Legacy, and while we'll quietly and patiently wait until its patched or w/e, I'm pretty sure there will be an uprising the likes you have never seen should the same thing happen.

Thank you ever so much, all our love,

Fenris Fans."

If by uprising you mean a mass *pout/rage eye twitch* then yes, an uprising. I am keeping my hopes for anything LI related at a bare "Oh look! He can be in the party, yay bioware."

I always just assumed it is his sardonic humor that gets him. The sheer irony of Jethann and the hilarious brashness and bluntness of Isabela's comment. I would laugh too. I don't really think he's one for crude humor per say, but it does seem like he (moreso than the other companions) has an open mind to certain things.. *wink wink nudge nudge*

Agreed agreed. My eye will twitch and I might just nerdrage if Fenris LI dialogue is bugged again. Though... you think there will even be LI dialogue? I mean... I hope so, and there better be but considering the plot im just not sure of anything.

In other Fenris news... had a dream last night that Fenris was teaching my Hawke Tevene and at the scene where he goes "Festis bei umo canavarum" - my Hawke was all "you did not just say I would be the death of you." Heh... I bet Fenris would find it an even trade to teach Hawke Tevene and what he knows of Qun in exchange for teaching him to read.

I have had Fenris in my dreams once and it wasn't even DA related, I was watching a zombie movie before I fell asleep and Fenris me and a few of my friends were fighting zombies in the mall, he had a bat.Posted Image No glowy phasing and I don't remember him speaking, just laughing as he bashed zombies. Very Fenris-esque I thought.

I don't mind anything when it comes to DLC I am literally EAs dream customer, very "Ooooh shiny stuff that references DA, must have it." so whatever I'll buy it, enjoy it, probably find something that makes me facepalm, because; "how can you not catch that before you released it!" Meh. I am excited for the DLC, I actually am fond of the party atmosphere because it have never been done before. I enjoyed infiltrating places in Assasins Creed not that it will be anything close to the same but who know, maybe it will be a nice change from Hawked usual, go in, hit first, ask if anyones left standing.

Im more reserved with DLC usually. However, I totally jumped on Legacy because it looked great. I was not disappointed in the DLC itself.. just the Fenris bugs.

This one I might wait for a review or two. Just to see. Though I do hate spoilers and will have to do a forum blackout when it comes out.

So, was talking today about what draws me to the Fenris romance and I find it is because of all the romances it is the one most rooted on an emotional foundation. Basically the 3 year gap is completely fine with me because I see Hawke and Fenris still being close emotionally and friendship wise .. just not in a relationship. I don't mind that at all. I also like how Fenris takes the time to figure himself out first. He may regret leaving Hawke but he needed to be "ready" for the relationship. I think because they go through those 3 years apart it makes the foundation for the romance that much stronger.

Anyways.. 2 cents and I am tired and at work getting my ass kicked.

As soon as the trailer said we were going all Rogue on that mansion, my debit card was in hand. I am in serious love with Rogues and THIS is their DLC. I shall have a lot of fun with this.

Isn't it kind of ironic that he was a slave, yet he is so educated in certain aspects? He speaks fluent Tevene, Qun, maybe even elvhen, and English. That is much more than anyone else can claim. And he is so learned in history and culture. He knows all about the Imperium and Qunari culture. So, despite the fact that he can't read, he really is one heck of an educated (and HOT) elf.

I agree about the romance. Its just so deep, true, emotional and intense (everything Fenris is), and he is the one character who makes you feel that you have truly altered his life. All the other romances are so... bleak and bland. I despised the Anders romance, I really did. Anders is a wonderful person to have as a friend, but as a lover, nah.

Ironically his "educated" self is something Fenris haters hold against him and find hard to believe. Like it is impossible for someone who is a slave and illiterate to know what he does. I find that a bit laughable because it assumes that a slave can't think or interpret or gain knowledge from the world and people around them. Fenris, to me, always has been a thinker and was exposed to a variety of cultures and obviously gained a lot of knowledge about Tevinter from personal experience and second hand from Danarius / other magisters.

Still... a lot of people fault him for being to well spoken and to intelligent. *eyeroll*

Fenris was right by Danarius's side probably almost 24/7. Anything that Danarius was apart of, Fenris was there. That is almost an entire lifetime of information being slapped in his face. Danarius is a magister, he would have seen incredible things. And Fenris was in tow, learning everything. Not being able to write or read does not mean Fenris is unable to comprehend.

Ah, those haters. They're just jealous (even though that sounds absurd, seeing as Fenris is fictional). So I guess living with Danarius for so long had its perks, no matter how difficult that is to admit.

I once made a joke that the only reason people hate Fenris is because they can't figure out how to friend or rival him all the way and so get peeved for no other reason than that they did it wrong and he betrays them. I laughed because I was like "awwwww have to settle for your silver medal.. couldn't get the gold." I know... I am a horrible person.

Hah! So true!!!

I have always managed to get him at full friendship by the end of Act 1. I basically recruit him as soon as possible (he's the 1st person I recruit after Varric, even before Anders). Then, I take him along with me everywhere, make sure I do NOT side with mages, make sure I agree that Templars and the Cirlce are necessary, and even go against my own sister by agreeing with him that I keep "a viper" in my midst by having her in my party. Obviously, being nice to him during conversation helps a lot, and before you know it, his friendship is maxed up before you even head into th Deep Roads (although, I must admit, encouraging Cullen to kick Keran out of the Templar Order has never been easy, and it never gets any easier. But, oh well, all's fair in love and war!)

Blech:sick: I don't see how you can side with the templars on stuff. I've only done it once successfully. I'm currently running a playthrough of it to make one of my guides, but even still you can friendship easily enough with out siding against the mages. Of which I am also makign a guide... its just taking longer then it should because I've been at work all weekend and my children are evil, eeevil little things who require attention :P

Especially when they see you are occupied and not sitting around idly. ;)

I managed to get my little youngling watch me play with dragons (show her the archdemon in Origin one and she was mighty impressed) and Martians (she thought those Reapers are one of those thing from War of the World). But the older one almost always start causing mayhem as soon as I start my xBox.

Computer games and related things that take a bit of time and attention are now mostly reserved for after 8pm now that summers over ;P Previously I could toss them outside to play in the yard to get some sunshine.. but now my older two are back at school and the little one's still to little, so I spend my week-days playing games with him. If I'm on the forums, its because he's decided to play a game on "the kids computer" or he's watching a movie :P I don't even think I've touched my xBox to do anything other then stream movies off Netflix in about a month.

Also? My 6 year old has a crush on "The wolf". Which is adorable, sort of.
