I just met Fenris in my current playthrough. His opening line always makes me smile--the delivery is just perfect.

We never do find out what Fenris thought was in the chest, do we?

David (Gaider) answered that last week: Fenris thought there would be information about his family. Poor kid. He really cared about them so deeply:( And then that stupid, pathetic sister of his betrays him as easily as blinking. Jeez.<_<

But if he couldn't read...how would he know if it was information on his family or not?  He couldn't read it to tell and since he's alone....?  Who would he trust enough to ask them, please read the contents of this chest and tell me about my family?  Or maybe I'm over thinking again :)

I love that Picture by Louvette.  Her (I think she's female) work is great!!

It's funny... I don't love MHawke/Fenris.  Not that I mind it or have a problem with it, it's just so popular from what I have seen.  My contrary nature takes over and I don't love it.  (Although Aimo stuff is cute.)  I enjoyed me some MWarden and Zervan.  But this pairing leaves me a little cold....I am difficult by nature.:lol:

I'm thinking that if there had been something to read in the chest, Hawke would have read it and would perhaps tell him what it said?  Otherwise I guess they'd hand the info over and he's "pretend" to peruse it?  I was always curious how he knew "my master accompanied them to the city" - what did he find on that guard?

See, I am left with more questions.  Would he trust Hawke, whom he had just met with this type of information?  Fenris doesn't strike me as this open.  And your right, how did he know if Danarius was there or not?  Who is his contact?  Why do we never meet them...ahh  more questions :D

I deifnitely agree that he probably wouldn't trust her, but if she just point blank said "the note/letter said this..." then perhaps he'd believe her?  Especially if you've already received his reply of "I've met few in my travels that have sought anything more than personal gain".

What if it was in a language Hawke couldn't read? Tevinter/Tevene/whateveritmightbecalled.
Which even Fenris would still not be able to read anyway. Posted Image Would be interesting having them running around Kirkwall, trying to find maybe a scholar or somesuch who could read it.

True - hadn't thought of the language issue.  Well maybe the info is a picture!  Solves all our language/reading issues :P

True - hadn't though of the language issue.  Perhaps it's a picture?  Although if Fenris had his memories wiped, it would have to be very specific information as he wouldn't recall any of it anyway.

Arquen: I have seen and love all those, now I want to go backwards and find the NSFW pic that someone posted a while back, that was wayyy to sexy. with the...the sweat and the... sexy. Unf. I should go start all my playthroughs get everyone into Kirkwall at least and then go from there, ut I imagine that getting confusing.

I weirdly started out with a female warrior, which is weird cause I almost never play females, and my only warrior playthrough was the unfinished one I deleted. Done't see myself getting very far.

I am just not a fan of het or females, which I suppose should be strange given I am a female but meh, it does nothing for me. I often read the angst and the most I ever get is a *hmm interesting* but if males start crying I turn into a pile of mush. Same with movies and TV shows, I am likely to stay stone hearted until a dad starts to cry and then I am lost. Also I like two strong well adjusted if not a little crazy males instead of a sub/dom relationship. A partnership of equals is so much nicer.

Which is off topic, but I have yet to court Fen with a female. Or to court any of the females with a male... huh, maybe its just het then. lol. Learn new things everyday.

Rei: you should share the wealth with me, because I feel like I have read every MHawke/Fenris piece out there. I can send a few suggestions in your direction too seeing as how I have read it all, I have written some too and it has further instilled that a writer I am not.

Oops missed a whole page and the convo moved on. Well I think that if Fenris was willing to face down hunters for the info, he would be willing to do some searching to have the info read.

A picture...interesting, not sure how it would work.  But hey it's a possible answer.  And how or why did Fenris think it was information on his family?  I think, I have spent to much time thinking about this.

I think Fenris would go to the  Chantry if he wanted something read to him.  They may even have scholars that could read the Tevinter language.  I doubt most of Kirkwall's poor are very literate, I'm sure this service wouldn't be an uncommon request.  He would probably consider them fairly trustworthy too.

maybe he assumed it was family momentos or photos (do they have photos in Thedas?), maybe it was their belongings before being taken as slaves, doesn't have to have been something written. just a thought...

Considering DG said it was "information", it seems like it would have been something written. But perhaps that's just what I took it to mean. Posted Image

Me, too.

Maybe someone should collect Mr. Gaider's statments/links and save them in the group?  Since we can't do it in the OP, that is.

I understood it to mean written as well, just speculation on the photo/painting (which would make more sense since I never noticed Varric carrying Bianca AND a DSLR!)

I know - It's like, OK the death of Malcom and the destruction of Lothering, Nah - not enough.

Brother/Sister have to A) Die. B) Leave and become a Grey Warden. or C) End up in the Gallows where you can't visit them.

Still not enough? OK - Let's kill the mother, and no, you CANT save her!

Need Act 3 angst! Living sibling or lover or best friend kidnapped!

It's like someone at Bioware has this vendetta against the Hawke family.

Edit.

My first playthrough I actually did cry. I'm very close to my mother so the thought of losing someone like that....Posted Image Waterworks.

First - Arquen, that was awesome. Very well done. *sniff*

When I first did 'All that Remains', it was around the 2 year anniversary of my mother's death. I had to take a long, long walk after I finished it, and my husband got dragged with me and had to deal with me being fairly emotional about the whole thing. It really brought me back to that place. (This is a compliment to their writing, but that night, I was torn between loving and hating the writers.)

I had to call my mother.  Every single time I get to All That Remains, I call her.

All That Remains was a REAL tear jerker for my original Rogue. She lost Carver at the Ogre and Bethany in the Deep Roads ( had no idea at the time Bioware would ever pull that **** ). Her mother was all the close family. The only comfort was her faithful mabari, the only other survivor of their escape from Lothering.

Maybe someone here can help me :crying: and yes, it is Fenris related.

Was going to Sundermountain
when the loading screen saying the slavers caught up with him popped
up. When it finished loading...I'm in freaking Sundermountain. I've
tried going back plenty of times but it isn't working.

I have no save that's closest to before I went to Sundermountain. the "closest" would be when I'm about to confront Lady Harimann and Allure but I did a bunch of crap
afterwards and I REALLY don't wanna go through all that again. Tried using zz_dae_debug and plot jump, and followers plot....it keeps
sending me back to where I choose either followers plot or the crisis/critical plot. And Fenris' zz_fen_debug doesn't work either -_-

You should be in the mountain. If you had done the Hadrianna fight you would know what the ambush scene should be. I am confused, what happened?

Go into the Valen thread and read the post I just put up. What I did in here last was nothing

Crimsy what did you do.........*Runs to Valen thread*

OK, that's a whole lot weirder than my dream....Which involved getting kidnapped by Fenris....In Middle Earth....During 'The Hobbit'.

Methinks there's something wrong with us...

That's OK. We'd be like everyone else if there wasn't something wrong with us.

Sorry, probably didn't phrase that right. I meant I was in world map, clicked on Sundermountain, and instead of a regular loading screen I got the ambush loading screen. But instead of going to the cutscene, I am instead in Sundermountain. No ambush, no Hadrianna, nothing....but I found out when I accidentally clicked on Fenris, he said if we were ever going after her! O_O but I don't have the quest, I don't have the map icon for it, nothing! D:
