Oh, he'll just be there, with his voice! I want to be there with his voice. Damnit middle of nowhere! You ruin everything. Oh god, if some wonderful person going could tell him about me... I mean us, and he can come on and say hi... as Coffee, Black would say I would totally spaz out in a sophisticated way.

Wow, took me a long time to find a TOP, and it is the only FemHawke/Fenris you'll ever get out of me so enjoy. Posted Image

Hee, thank you. I'm quite proud of all my Hawkes, but I usually feel really awkward posting them in this thread, LOL.

Took me a long time to find ones I actually liked and that had Fenris in them. These were my favorites. The purple eyes are kind of cliche exotic, but I found they matched her personality. Plus I think her and Fenris make a good couple. It helped that he was like her shadow the whole time too. LOL.

I loved that hair curl bug, and the way he stands at times with his hips off to the side. It's so perfectly hilarious. I actually get that hair curl bug quite a bit. Especially in sundermount for some reason. Must be the wind, LOL.

I was looking through the site for that London comic-con thing. It says you can do a "picture with the stars" -- where you can have a picture done (professionally at the place) with the guests. Perhaps he will be there. Tell him to say "I am yours" instead of "cheese" -- I would flip out I think. I don't flip out or squee ever.. in my life, but I think I would if that happened.

I totally agree!  Normally I would be composed and "normal" but I'd probably freak out!
Anyone that is going, enjoy!

Just completed the "ass grabbing" scene - so great!  And even though he leaves, LOVE the way he says "forgive me".  Like I could stay mad at you my lovely elf....

The game... it is too strong!!

I know that Gideon Emery at least knows about "us" as in the Fenris fans, and this thread, LOL. I don't think he would venture here, but he seems pretty nice and down to earth kinda guy on his facebook and such.

D'awwww one of my favorite tops. I haven't gotten to the make-out scene yet in my PT. I'm sort of savoring this one. Taking it kinda slow to complete it before the DLC comes out. I've always said I actually feel worse for Fenris in that scene than Hawke. Just a personal thing, but I really feel he is going through more emotional turmoil than Hawke at that point.

Believe me, darl. He does visit here every now and then. Someone gave him the lnk a while back and he's been dropping by ever since. So you will never know.

OH, good morning.

Bored and stuff so I was looking through my screenies folder since I missed the bandwagon when we were posting our Hawkes.

My canon is Gwenya Hawke -- Sarcastic/Aggressive mage (more sarcastic) who doesn't take no lip from nobody. Supports mages, but is careful with her magic and other mages. Friendmanced Fenris, and is generally a BAMF! Plus, she is hilarious.

Also, Fenris was like ALWAYS there in my whole playthrough. My right hand man or.. elf. These are just the hilarious ones, especially the one with the hips slightly off to the side and that fantastic hair curl bug.

Did I mention I'm bored?

Posted Image

lol those hips. Get me every time. Plus that hair curl. And we are standing side by side with the same expression. classic.

Posted Image

"Alright I get it.. you enjoy following me.. the staring, however..." LOL

Posted Image

*Is trying desperately to ignore that Fenris stare.. fails miserably* "Fenris I'm trying to concentrate here.. not helping.."

Posted Image

I do love both our expressions in this. So perfectly in sync.

More Fenris picspam isn't a bad thing? Right? right? :P

Can I just say that your Hawke is GORGEOUS. Love her!

That hair curl glitch annoys me to no end. I have no idea why:huh:

Plus, Fenris' hips in the first screencap; does he normally do that? I've never seen him stand like that! That's how the females stand in the game.... or so I thought!

It's actually an issue with Hawke&companion one on one banters. They've pretty much said that they are not fixing it. It's not a big enough problem to be worth a patch.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Fenris is actually the only character to have a theme, and I'm not only comparing him to the DA2 characters, but also DA:O. Leliana sang that camp fire song (In Uthenara or something), but it isn't her theme song.

And not only does he have 1 theme song, Mage Pride is a fusion of his theme song! So that makes 2 songs composed in relation to Fenris. How awesome is that? Its a testament to how incredible and amazing our broody elf is if Bioware thinks he deserves a theme song apart from every other character in the entire game series! (I'm not counting the Hawke Family Theme, by the way; I should narrow it down to NPCs only).

LOL, thank you Solona. Yes, he does stand that way a few times. With the hip swagger. I actually find it very endearing. Makes me love him more for being able to pull off that pose.

I am very disappointed in that bit about the Legacy banter if it is true. Disappointed, but not surprised. At this point I almost figured it would be another Zevran bug -- *sigh*

Also, about Fenris' theme: He actually is the only character with his own theme. Named on the actual soundtrack. It is in Tevene, and while it is similar to Mage Pride there are differences in it. That being said when you actually listen to the background music each companion does have their own "theme" in the game. That music in the background when you meet Isabela, for instance, is not on the soundtrack. Yet it is definitely her theme. Anders, too has a unique music theme especially during his romance scenes and a couple of his banters. It is more akin to the darktown theme, but it is slightly different. Varric has the hanged man theme. Merrill has a bit of a unique sundermount type music in her banters/background.

Though you are absolutely correct in that Fenris is the only character who has a piece of music named after him, and I always found it ironic that Mage's Pride also sounds like his theme. Oh, that magic.. always hunting you Fenris. LOL.

-- OMG I have not spent hours listening to the background music or analyzing this or anything (wtf is wrong with me *facepalm*)

You've been affected with DAOS (Dragon Age Obsessive Syndrome). Not to worry; everyone on this forum's got it ;)

I have a fic question for the more veteran fanfic authors out there. Kinda.

I am hating trying to write the Fenfic right now. I have huge chunks of it written @ key plot points (in my head at least), but linking it all together has completely writers' blocked me to the point where I'm considering doing a series of one-offs instead. Has anyone else done that? If so, did you find it feasable to do, or did it just seem disjointed?

I've pretty much decided to go this way with all of my DA fic, because I very much want to avoid a game retelling. If you're doing something completely outside the events of the game, I still think a series of one-offs can work. I find that it really does make me feel less pressured, and I can post whenever I'm ready instead of thinking, "Oh God, what if I don't feel up to doing the next chapter right away?"

I kept thinking about Fenris' three years on the run. That time when he was developing his independent personality. He mentions how he "once" tried to hide his markings. How he "once" tried to fit in and hide among the elves of the alienage.

Really?? I've never run across that bit of dialogue. Damn! I always miss stuff.

I'm totally late on the Hawke-posting thing but here is Julian Hawke, in one of his best BAMF moments of the game. He's just killed the Arishok in single combat (which largely involved casting, running around like crazy, quaffing a healing potion, and casting again) and he does this thing where he twirls his staff before holstering it six inches off his back:

https://lh4.googleus...ke%2520BAMF.jpg" height="400" width="350"

I also love the moment right after this, when Meredith runs in only to find that it's over, and everyone's cheering for the apostate. She looks like she's about to burst a blood vessel on the spot.

Prompt time

Posted Image

This week's theme:

I notice we are just a little over 100 pages away from the grand 2000! I think to celebrate, I am going to run a two week prompt '2000'! Please make your time and contribute. Arts and fanfic are welcome, too!

The usual stuff, one week time frame and a bold Prompt: (theme) on the top of your post.

Right, have fun.

I lol'd at that! It is interesting how they all holster their weapons 6 inches off their backs.

Isabela's are the worst -- daggers dangling in mid-air without a holster, LOL.

Then again Fenris' sword is also quite -- floaty? LOL.

OoOoO a 2000 prompt... can we do it guys? 100 pages in 2 weeks? LMAO I don't know... That's a lot of pages. Since we have been moving like one page every 2 days. Oh sigh...

@darkrose some of my interpretations for that come from his short story as well. He mentions his markings not being able to be hidden to Varric. In the short story it says "his efforts to cover up his distinct markings almost nonexistent." Also, "He’d thought to blend in more once he’d escaped the Imperium. In a land where elves were free, certainly one more elf would go unnoticed? He’d been a fool, of course."

Then there is the banter about the alienage and Merrill:

Merrill: Don't you care about the plight of our people? Not even a little bit?

Fenris: I don't need to visit the alienage to know what they suffer. I know it better than you.

Merrill: I've lived there for years! I see it firsthand!

Fenris: And I lived it.

Which just kind of reaffirms that he knows quite a bit about alienages, and perhaps tried to live in one after his escape. Though I'm pretty sure this statement is mostly referencing his time in Tevinter and watching the elven slaves and alienages there.

So that's where I was going with that. I was trying to piece things together from glimpses. He doesn't talk about those 3 years on the run at all really. I think it must have been an interesting time for him. True character growth that we never get to see.

A 100 pages in 2 weeks seems... quite difficult, in all honesty. The thread has been a bit quieter as of late.

About the 3 years on the run before that faithful night in which he meets Hawke for the first time, I am really, really interested in finding out about the character development he went through during that time. It would be very interesting indeed. Its a pity we'll never get any insight on that.

Speaking of the new DLC -- high0castle posted this on the Tumblr about it.

More Info on Mark of the Assassin: According to the special on BioWare Pulse:

Aveline will have special content because of her Orlesian heritage.

The gaudy looking crossbowman in the trailer? His armor is made of wyvern scales.

Wyverns are hunted for sport by Orlesians. We’ll have the opportunity to participate, and the bigger the beast Hawke brings down, the more respect he’ll earn.

There will be an opportunity to chat and socialize with Orlesian party-goers, which will expand our knowledge of The Game.

Harlequins are similar to bards. They’re elite assassins who dress as jesters and tumblers, but when they reveal themselves, they’re deadly.

Orlesians are obsessed with masks.

There will be plenty of optional puzzles this time around. (That sound you hear? That’s me cheering.)

There’s a small amount of special content for the siblings.

The DLC does not take place in Orlais, but it features are first look at Orlesian architecture.

After reading this I totally got excited for a Wyvern hunt, LMAO. Come, Fenris -- We will find the biggest, best, and most powerful Wyvern to impress these gaudy, snobbish, nobles! I think I can hear the famous Fenris eye-roll.

Also, not sure I'm so excited by puzzles. That one in Legacy took me YEARS to do. I am so not good with in-game puzzles, LOL.

The forums have really slowed down.  The DLC may cause more people to post but a 100 pages does seem like a lot.....we need a lot of Fenris pictures!!

As for Fenris' time on the run, I would love to learn more about it.  It does seem unlikely that we will ever know anything more about it.  And that may not be a bad thing.  It leaves us to fill in the blanks. :P
