Why is that always happened? We got the same problem before DAII released as well.

So if anyone's played mota yet since the leak, please let us know if there is Fenris specific content! It was mentioned that characters involved with both the Qunari and Orlais would have specific roles within the DLC so I've had my hopes up.

On another note, someone on tumblr mentioned that they believed Fenris's markings to follow nerve paths, which is why they spark when he's riled up. I thought it was a neat bit of headcanon.

I've played the leak and although I haven't gotten everything because I sucked and couldn't finish the puzzles, I can assure you that there are A LOT of romance-related contents and they're triggering.  I'll try to be vague, but just in case there might be spoiler stuff below. Lemme see if I can get this highlight thing to work.




[Throughout the entire dlc if you flirt with Tallis with Fenris in the team, he will quip and interject and Tallis will even mention at one point how lucky Fenris is to have Hawke. If you click on him during the dlc he now says "I am yours, as always", there's a section with a cutscene where he and your other companion comes to rescue Hawke (I've used him and Isabela) and I've also gotten a few banters between him and Hawke that makes me dance like a little fangirl.

Non-Romance-wise, I haven't been able to get him to comment about all the Qunari stuff (I suspect it might be because I have Isabela and she has priority or something) but he will complain about Orlesian nobility's pasttime and the fact that the duke mistook him for Hawke's manservant, there's also apparently a Fog Warriors thing but unfortunately I haven't been able to see if that lead to anything because it was one of those things behind a puzzle. (and I've also read somewhere that said puzzle might be bugged). I'm going to retry this dlc again with Carver to see if Fenris will get to speak up more.]



I think that's it! Overall though, it had a few concepts/similarities that's kinda like Kasumi's DLC from Mass Effect but by the end of it I think it has enough difference and even if she... kinda takes priority in the banter and cutscenes, I still enjoyed having Tallis as a temporary companion and might even end up watching her live-action show thing to see more of her story. Of course, YMMV too because there's also a part of me that was a bit that she took away time I could've gotten to see more banter/interaction between Hawke, Fenris and Isabela.

Have I mentioned that was incredibly fascinating? Reading through that - especially the nerve/vein connections and the way Fenris' body could process the Lyrium...Methinks I will probably adopt your headcanon!

Oh, I am trying extremely hard not to highlight that spoiler stuff. Willpower has never been my strong point. I am off to finish at least one playthrough before MoTA comes out for real.

@Fleshdress I've been crushing on him for months now! He's got some serious hotness going on. And he's such a sweetheart! He actually directly talks to his fans on Facebook. When he replied to one of my posts one time, I was in a state of shock. I couldn't believe that the voice behind FENRIS actually read a post written by me AND replied to it.

I wish I could be in London on the 29th of October I really, really want to meet him. *sniffs*

Hah! I do the exact same thing! Every single time I play, I have to hear that from him at least thrice. Sometimes, it takes ages before he finally says it, and before he does, he sounds like a broken radio, repeating phrases over and over.

I actually highlighted the text and read the "spoilers". They're not really spoilers per say, though that doesn't mean I suggest reading it. Its just that, when it comes to Fenris, my willpower is near zero. Plus I hate surprises. Now I seriously cannot wait!!!! Tomorrow, come quickly already!!

I wrote mine first, and it is a lot more in depth than that. Anyways... linkage.. it is REALLY LONG. My bad

The lyrium theory/ritual is something I found so fascinating that I seriously spent a long time theorycrafting and brainstorming. I put all my notes together and made it into a "taking Dragon Age and Fenris way to seriously" post.

so, hi, dropping by (again) with a semi-related question. i now like fenris SO much i just need to try out rivalry and friendship both (you've convinced me!)

i find it very easy to rival fenris as pro-mage mage(rivalry and i'm not even done with act 1), but i'm plotting out how to friend him (but just barely - gotta have it be a close finish for funsies) for a pro-mage mage.

am i correct in thinking that friend/rivalry is on a 100 point scale? that is, once you hit 50 pts. rivalry that you're a rival and then 100 points you're locked in? also, does that mean the romance merely needs 50 points to trigger or do you need more than that?

my reasoning is that just now i locked in rivalry with fenris. it took me 60 points of rivalry to do it. but i honestly can't remember if i originally picked up +5 friendship along the way (and so had to 'backtrack') or if you need 60 points to hit rivalry and then 120 for locking in (as in, there are 120 points either way and you need a percentage of them).

okay, maybe i'm not making sense. not even sure if this is where to ask that....

oh, and also, i see that some quests require existing friendship/rivalry to get further friendship/rivalry, but the first 'gift' quest does not, right? the book one?

You can friend Fenris fairly easily and still be pro-mage. Just remember not to bring him along on quests where you're going to be strongly pro-mage.

You can do little things, like go talk to Thrask instead of Faynriel's father and then choose the bottom option (which simply says, "leaving an untrained mage to their own devices is dangerous".. which, is true, and not really at all anti-mage)..

In my signature is a 50% at act 1 guide. In it are some friendship points outlined as well.. its fairly easy to get big chunks of friendship just with his chat-in-the-mansion after you've recruited him


as for the gifts, they'll give you points (and play out differently) depending on what path you're already on. So if you're rivalry, they'll give you rivalry.. etc etc.


The scale itself is 120 I -believe-. Don't quote me though because I'm not positive.
