Here's the full interview if no one already have read it.

Personally, I'm very interested in this comic book thing. Shame I have to wait 'til February for it thought....

And now we get to find out what Alistair is Canon Alistair. Is he King Alistair? Is he Warden Alistair? Do they just not mention it at all? Is this romanced or non romanced Isabela.. does this happen in the three year gap after the deep roads - before the Hawkemance posiblity?

SO MANY QUESTIONS ;p

Alistair, Isabela, and Varric together in Antiva *dies* -- then throwing in "witch of the wilds" and I *resurrected and dies again* I was pretty much done after that. Though I agree, I was definitely interested in the comics. Blast, as if I needed more comics to read, LOL.

Awesome TOP btw, LOL. There is way to much sexy Fenris going on here. Wait, wait.. what am I saying? There can't be enough sexy Fenris, LOL.

Some of my first thoughts as well when I heard Alistair was going to be in it. It might be somewhere in-between origins and DA2. Or like you said they may not mention it at all.

DG is writing it though and I don't know if he would just throw out all kinds of lore. Usually he tries not to do that I think, LOL.

I wonder if the other characters will make cameos or show up? Zevran (they are going to Antiva, after all). I think anyone else from DA2 showing up would be too much to hope for though.

I dunno. They just need to be really careful. Alistair fans might just revolt and kill someone if they make his backstory something solid. A Warden Alistair may have a Warden lover.. a King Alistair might be married to a Warden or have a Warden Mistress or be married to Anora or ... He's a very touchy character to mess with.

Isabela too, but there could very well be reasons for why/what's going on not to effect a potential romance for her.

Varric really is the only neutral ground.

*stares at ToP pic* Oh my...

Concerning the comic...does it assume that Alistair became a Warden after DAO? Because I'm not exactly sure how he can go adventuring with Izzie and Varric if he's king.

Aaand I took too long to write my post again! Posted Image'd

But yeah...Alistair is going to be veeeeeery difficult to handle in that context, methinks. I'm not sure they can manage to absolutely avoid mentioning what happened to him post DAO.

On another note, excellent observation, Arquen. It's always amazed me just how intelligent and just naturally talented he is. I mean, he speaks Tevene, English, Qun, most probably even Elven, and he knows all there is to know about each of these cultures and their corresponding histories. He's the most educated "illiterate" (my Hawke has seen to it that he is illiterate no longer) ex-slave elf ever. Maker, I could go and on and on with praise. Killer looks, a brain to envy, a voice that can melt my very bones, a breath-taking smile and puppy green eyes to die for. Looks like the Maker threw all of his goods right into Fenris! Not to mention that "taut" body, as Isabela called it, and his impeccable combat skills.

Not to disparage Fenris' intelligence and learnedness (because it definitely is remarkable), but I haven't heard any evidence of him knowing Elven besides knowing what "shemlen" means. Also, I haven't heard him say anything about the Dalish. Which makes sense, because he's never lived among them. AFAIK, at least. Considering he appears to be particularly talented at picking up knowledge from firsthand contact, I just don't see where else he would have been able to learn anything detailed about them. I also wouldn't go so far as to say he knows "all there is to know about each of those cultures and their corresponding histories". That sounds a tad presumptuous, and not just because he doesn't know how to read.

Could very well be a kingly mission. Hell, Marric went on one randomly and left Loghain in charge ;p

I agree here. I don't think he knows much about Dalish other than what a city elf would know. "Shemlen" is a pretty common word heard among elves and humans. He does say something about the Halla flag outside the Dalish camp. He remarks about the Dalish only a couple of times, mostly at how they are arrogant and he doesn't care for them. I think he has been exposed to Dalish in his travels, but I don't think Elven is in his repetoire of languages.

Saying "he knows all there is to know" is hyperbole, and I took it as such. I don't think she meant it literally. He knows a lot from listening and observing, and I think that was more the point. He does know about history of Tevinter at least. Most trading and speech in Tevinter I assume is done in the common language so he would have learned that as well out of necessity. He knows about at least some of the history of the Qunari and Tevinter interactions (Blade of Mercy talk), but doesn't exactly know the history of the Qunari. He obviously had chances to observe Qunari unseen. Either during his time with Danarius or with the Fog Warriors or both, and picked up SOME of their language. Of course according to Tallis it isn't exactly stellar, LOL. Which is what I suspected anyways.

He simply is very intelligent and observant and has a rare ability to learn from others indirectly rather than directly. People like that do exist, but they are rare.

Yup, so many possibilities.

But I think this will be written in Gaiders head canon (just like Asunder). I really don't want it to be considered canon where they do a event where it doesn't matter if Alistair is a king/warden/drunk. They should choose one option and stick with that one. It will be so bizarre having all three of them merged into one (if, however Gaider comes up with something sneaky that first to the plot).

Fair enough. It's just that it's possible to interpret that as "and if he doesn't know about it, then it's not worth knowing", and considering that Fenris has a bit of an issue with prejudice, it's a slippery slope.

Or maybe I'm just reading too much into things today.

I agree.  Same with Isabela really. Although I don't think she has as many fans (or maybe she does).  Varric has no romance or real desisions that the player makes for him and his future say like Hawke and Isabela sailing away together. From a lore angle the comics could be interesting but really I wonder why use established characters that game players could have their own storyline for.   But maybe Bioware won't mention anything that could interfere with the games.  It's interesting choice.  We'll see, I guess when the comics come out.

Wait wait, I am so confused. Were they talking about DA3? Or a DLC? Does this mean we won't be our own character? We'll be Ali? It won't be a continuation on what happens after DA:O and DA2? But there is so much we don't know... and I executed Ali so my warden could be king! (Actually because  just wanted to see the option but forgot to make a save and when I went to go back... I just couldn't re do all those quests.) What if you let Isabela get dragged off by the Arishok. what... what. Uhg, panic mode.

Oh uh yah, on topic. Fenris pole dancing... my Hawke would pay to see that, my Hawke would sell his mother to see that. Posted Image

Hmm, I have to say, I have absolutely no interest in the comic, as I've already created my own personal "canon" events within the story. Alistair always becomes king, for instance. So, not sure why they're doing this, as it seems to negate the whole appeal of the DA franchise (which is, create your own story, etc.). Why make something "canon"?

still loving MotA. Not really ant difference between rival and friendship  romance though. Dissapointing. Does it really matter if you leave Tallis or not?

On this PT I had my snarky warrior and Fenris and Varric -- I DIED at the "we are not merry" banter. Laughed for a good minute at least.

----

Hawke: So what now? You aren't just going to leave, are you?

Tallis: (chuckles) You think I would fit into your merry entourage?

Fenris: We are hardly "merry."

Hawke: It's true. Some of them hardly ever crack a smile.

Varric: Some of us are downright broody.

Fenris: Or so clever we could just die. (<--- at which point... I just died... the way he says it.. oh man..)

Trolling Fenris +10 points

Having Varric back you up +20 points

Having Fenris troll you BOTH back -- priceless!

It doesn't really matter if you help her or not.   She gets the scroll. If you leave her at the caves, you run into the Duke and his friends anyways and help her get the scroll.  You just don't know about it.

I really didn't like the ending of this DLC, it sort of left a bad taste in my mouth especially with my anti-Qun mage.  I hate endings that are that railroaded.  And yet I did enjoy the DLC, how's that for confusing.;)

You all are killing me - I had pretty much vowed to wait until Tuesday afternoon to even purchase the DLC. *twitch*

Hnnnggggh...

Also, that ToP...yeah. Love that one too. I'll be over here trying not to play DA2 until Tuesday. :) (Stupid pharmacology exam...)

Yeah, I think you are reading too much into things, because that is definitely not what I meant. It was just my way of saying that he knows quite a lot for someone who lived his entire (remembered) life as a slave.

SORRY URSULA -- concentrate on pharmacology (Maker I hated that class).. I'm totally spoilerific too.. I figured the filter and gloves were off since nobody else was doing spoiler warnings, LOL. Plus I have been gushing about the DLC to my boyfriend and he is sick of hearing about it. I have to vent these things to someone. Your up, forums!

on my rivalmage I threatened to kill Tallis every chance I got, LOL. At the end all I could do was "give me the scroll!" and got a PLOT ARMOR NO fail.

So it did leave a bit of a bad taste as far as the ending, but the DLC itself was so worth it. The content. The dialogue. The sheer trolling going on. I've played it like 5 times now, and I even replayed scenes on my characters so I could play them out differently for the different dialogue options. I'm way more into this DLC than I was with Legacy. Legacy felt so "quiet" to me. This one is one thing after another, and I like the pacing, content, puzzles, dialogue and actual plot too.

The Qunari perspective is quite interesting. I only wish we could get a bit more insight into them. Tallis does such a horrible job of explaining her views coherently. Although I do like her.

After Fenris's troll-tacular dialogue in this one I just love him even more, LOL. If that was possible.

Also, did a quick Act 1 Bethany to see what the rescue said: LOL!

Bethany: What am I going to tell Mother? Sorry, I got lost and left your heir in an Orlesian's dungeon? She will never forgive me. My sister will never forgive me! Carver and Father will come back from the grave just to haunt me!

Fenris: What she'll say should be the least of your worries. We may die in here, and she'll never get the news.

Bethany: You are not helping.

XD Fenris.. I love your trolling. I can't get over it.

Who do you guys think plans the content you pick up in DLC and creates the Item packs. I want to write a letter, I want to complain. Where sould I go to do that? I am having an issue! *snarl hiss*

Took Fenris through and I agree with A_S, little anticlimatic with lack of difference with rivalmance and friendmance, then again I took him in act two am most banters didn't trigger. will have to go back, play further and try again.

!!!  Wow, I will have to do a reload with Bethany at some point...or see if I have her still living on a non-canon I didn't delete. I really do love her (at least in my head!canon in her relationship with Aniya), but in that head!canon, she's doomed.  :crying: Oooh, on Snark-a-Hawke warrior, though...that decision just got made. Beth, you're gonna be a Warden. ;)

Fenris trolling Bethany - another +10, methinks.

Mage PT - get ready to get Carver dragged into it, too. *cracks knuckles a-la Fem!Shep*
