Oh sweet Mercy, the head! It aches.

Okay saw the cutest, freaking cutest half eye roll thing from Fenris, during when you give him the Silver Sword of Mercy, I think during one of the investigate options? I remembered for awhile then the Gallows scene chased it away and my pounding head is keeping it away. Still, it made my night.

I am so glad you guys like it!
I'm actually halfway through writing Chapter 2 (I know, I know- I'm a very bad girl, abandoning my studies like that), but ideas and scenarios are just flitting through my mind and I had to put them down in written form. Studies will always be there to get back to, but ideas are fleeting!

Thought I would add this since I thought it was cute. Carver looks up to my romanced Fen, d'awww. I didn't know but when I got to the Gallows, there was Carver, sporting bright white hair. Ah the adorableness. Of course Fenris was mortified but really, I told him it's what little brothers do, there was surely a whole month where Carver ran after him pretending to do magic. Fenris doesn't find this flattering but still, making them stand together with their matching hair. cute cute.

My muse is kicking me too.. going to channel it to my project for Rei.

Was thinking about Fenris in the fade. He is kind of insistent that he doesn't want to go, but says "if you have need of me." He will go. I think that says a lot about how he can put personal discomfort/feelings aside because of Hawke.

Hey, I noticed in the last fight if sideing with mages, maybe when we were heading through the docks and that fight of DOOM, that is litterally harder then the boss fights, He said something anti power, not anti mage, can't remember it though. But when Orsino turnes I had such a proud Fenris moment he said something about how "we" do desperate things when pushed. I was all Awwww Fen fen! You're growing!

Arquen: It has only happened to me this once and it's because Carver sided with the Templars, usually I make Carver a Grey Warden.

I remember those lines Fleshy.. though I can't quote them exactly. Fenris always focuses his arguments around "need for power," and basically argues that mages... moreso than others are at risk for being controlled by demons because of this inherent weakness. He realizes that MOST people opt for power especially when backed into a corner.

It isn't exactly wrong. There are few exceptions to this rule in Thedas and fewer still in Kirkwall and NONE in Tevinter (apparently).

Hi guys. I've been coming to this topic quite regularly lately, and now that I finally figured out I had to register my game to be able to post here (doh xD) I decided to say hello.
I've been pressing print screen like crazy during mu current Bitter Pill playthrough and when I browsed through the screenshots I found this: http://imageshack.us...1110221212.jpg/ (not sure how to post pictures directly here, sorry).
It looks a bit odd, but it's the only hint in the game we get about how those markings go underneath all that armor... I suppose you guys have already noticed this as well, considering all the screen shots you placed, but I have never seen any fan art with the markings going like this. I wish I was good at drawing. I would definitely make some Fenrises, haha. I am trying to write about him though, since suddenly he "came to live" in my head. Allright, that sounds weird, but it basically means I have an idea for a story. I wanted to flesh out Fenris' thoughts at the end of Bitter Pill (meaning the beginning of the romance with Hawke), because there has to be a lot of inner conflict, and not just about his memories coming back. I think his betrayal in the Fade must shake his beliefs about demons and mages, because he now knows that he is not able to decline a demon's offer...
So anyway, that's what I'm trying to do. It is a bit of a challenge to write in English, since this isn't my native language, but I think I can mange pretty well when I have enough time to consider almost every word.

This post is probably a bit of a mess by now, but I wanted to ask you guys what you think Fenris hoped would be in the chest in Bait and Switch. I suppose this has come up already somewhere in all those pages, so sorry if you are all tired of discussing it, but I'm really curious and haven't been able to come up with any plausible ideas. What Fenris wants the most is being free from Danarius, and knowing who he is beyond his markings. So what the slavers used to lure him there should have something to do with that, shouldn't it? Still, I don't think it likely he hoped to find his autobiography there or something. So what did he want to be in that chest? A wapon? Coin? All seem unlikely.
Okay, I guess this should be the end of my first post here, hehe.

@renjility First off, welcome to the Fenris Thread! I hope you'll frequent this thread and enjoy it as much as we do! About the screenie, I've never seen that one! That is AMAZING! So that's what his lyrium markings look like! Wow!!

Secondly, for someone who isn't a native English speaker, your English is divine! It really is! You can definitely write a fic, so go for it (I just started my very first one today and its totally a great experience).

Lastly, David Gaider answered your question a few 100 pages ago: Fenris was hoping he'd find some information about his family. That's all DG told us.

As for the markings... yeah that happens if you have the Fenris marking mod. I still support my original theory of lyrium to blood/nervous system.

Chest.. yeah... info about Family. Always figured as much. Learning about his family and history has always been important to him.

As for conflict post Hadrianna.. it all comes down to "you didn't deserve my anger." He leaves because he knows he has gone too far and doesn't want to do that to Hawke. His rage is real, but he really didn't mean it. He says he wanted to let Hadrianna go, but couldn't. As for his feelings for Hawke.. debatable, but he says "this isn't why I came here." Which suggests he already was thinking of telling Hawke how he felt and really just doesn't know how.

Umm yeah.. could go on about that for hours but phone post = hard.

When it comes to fanart people kind of wing it with the markings.

LOL, thanks for giving me entertainment! Though the only thing I kind of went "hmm.." at was his teaching and patience. For some reason I see Fenris as a very reluctant teacher, and a stern, blunt one at that. Having never really had a "good" teacher I don't know how patient he would actually be.

However, in an AU I don't really mind. Changes here and there are quite acceptable. After all your Fenris wasn't exactly a slave who had his teachings inflicted upon him, LOL. BTW your Hawke is adorable, LOL.

I'm loving it so far. The hooligans, and Carver.. gahh.. how I love Carver. Plus, 3 chapters .. wait.. 4 chapters in one night. You're on a roll... keep em' coming. New fanfic blood is always appreciated. Especially if it is GOOD fanfic.

I would picspam some more Fenris, but the wireless I'm on blocks DA. *fail*

Speaking of DA (DeviantArt): has anyone posted a full length fic there? I've explored some of their posting options for literature/fanfic, but it looks like it's more geared toward one-offs. Has anyone else who uses DA to post fic noticed that or found a workaround so it works better with longer fic?

*wanders off to study...trying not to get drawn into fic writing until I'm completely caught up. *

You know, when I was writing that patient bit, I swear I was like "I don't really see Fenris as the patient type". But then I just went with it anyway, because my Hawke is very impatient, so maybe to her, just about anyone (apart from Carver) seems to be patient.

Also, I think I was intending his patience to only be reserved for what he loved best, which in my AU is martial arts. Anything else and he's not as patient.

But you're right: its an AU, so divergence is expected. Unless I share with DG as well:P
