River: They sliced up my brain and did some horrid experiment on me, tried to turn me into a perfect assassin.
Fenris They did that to you to, did they? Well, they did that and cause me lost all my memories.
Simon: Must be some very serious experiment. Now I am only glad I got her out sonner.

OMG!! I LOVE THIS!!!

Halo is probably one of my fave games ever, and now two of my FAVE characters together???  It's almost too much!! 

Let's see...never tried this but I see Fenris perhaps in Ancano's role in Skyrim.


My High Elf: Um, who are you?
Fenris:  It's not important - I'm here to watch you.
MHE: Watch me how? (as I stare dreamily at his tattoos and listen to that voice)
Fenris: I'm an advisor to the Arch Mage and it's my job to keep an eye on you.
MHE:  I hope you keep more than an eye on me...I mean, uh, ok, sure.  (walks into Hall of Elements and accidentally lights a student on fire from the heat of the interaction with Fenris!)

*ahem* I can't resist NOT saying something about the friendmance/rivalmance and aggro Hawke though. It's a weakness of mine.

I absolutely LOVE my aggressive Hawkes. What is even more fun about aggressive Hawke is that Fenris takes aggressive Hawke so well. He trolls right back, and it is absolutely fantastic. One of my favorite dialogues is:

Hawke: Don't you have anything positive to say?
Fenris: The wine was tasty?

Also,
Hawke: Are you finished complaining yet?
Fenris: I am now. (<-- best sarcastic voice ever)

and, and...
Hawke: You know you could stop dwelling on the past.
Fenris: I could. (again sarcasmic fantastic)

That first act 1 and act 2 convos have such great stuff from aggro Hawke. I laugh SO hard when I actually played her. I can't do diplo Hawke.. she/he makes me cringe. Although I have 2 straight up diplo Hawkes, LOL. It is very out of character for me. I feel like "I would so never say that" when choosing those diplo lines. My favorite is a mix of sarcastic/aggro.

The rivalmance isn't for everyone, but I like it. I find no qualms with playing it. Festis bei umo canavarum is something I say pretty much daily, LOL. My favorite is the friendmance, but in the rivalmance Fenris really does that whole "this hate, it's poison, but I continue to swallow it," and tries to let go of his hate more. In both scenarios he "moves on," but in the rivalry path he seems more willing to admit that his hatred is a bad thing, and that he needs to let it go.

On the friendship path he is more willing to accept who he is, and dwells more on the "nothing holding you back" aspect of things. His "bitterness is not without cause," and he wishes to move forward, but doesn't speak of leaving Kirkwall. He thanks Hawke in either scenario, and it is clear he values the "friendship" in both cases.

Honestly, there are only subtle differences between the friendship and rivalry, but it comes out in his gifts most of all, and his reactions to Hawke. He is "not made of glass," and I love that out of all the characters he is the only one who takes aggro Hawke with a grain of salt, and doesn't get angry or blow up at them. Instead he just comes right back at you, just as strong. I LOVE that about him.

OFFtopic: Skyrim... still MEH... I just.. can't find it in me to care. Lydia died-- and I went *shrug* and then proceeded to carry around her dead body waving it around to random villagers until I found a final resting place for it in a lake somewhere. There were tears I was laughing so hard at the sheer morbidity of being able to wave around a dead body >.<. I'm proceeding to do the Companion quests, and will do the Dark Brotherhood and such. I joined up with the Imperials, and I don't know.. seriously thinking of becoming a vampire. So far, nobody has really impressed me as far as companions. Yeah.. not even "the twins" people are all ga-ga over. *sigh* I just can't share it.. Oh well.

I'm glad so many of you liked it! (all I see are the mistakes but I'm always overly critical of my stuff, had to keep telling myself - it's just a sketch, let it go). I was going to do Fenris as one of the xmen (thinking - Gambit) but with this being a big anniversary for Halo went that way instead. Any chance I get to draw Fenris... it's pretty much the only stuff in my DA. I'm not obsessed or anything...

Fenris is a planned POV character, though since it begins before the game starts, he's obviously not in the story yet.  Hope y'all enjoy!

Prompt: Serenity, or ‘River’s take on the Danarius battle’

 Fenris (to Varania): You led them here!

River stares, transfixed. Simon watches in horror, looking between the elves and his own sister as The Confrontation continues.

Simon (horrified, to River): You know I will never do that. Let’s get out of here. (takes River’s arm carefully)

Hawke confronts Danarius, who taunts her. Fenris tells him off.

River (continues to stare and refuses to move): This…this will get messy.

Danarius and his henchlings get their asses properly kicked. A couple of henchlings get too close to Simon and River disposes of them. Engrossed, she stares at the shades, corpses, and Rage Demon, keeping a clear circle around her brother free of danger as only River can. 

Fenris goes all “You are no longer my master” on Danarius. River favors him with a rare, unrestrained smile.

River: Fortunate to have friends…(Danarius gets destroyed by Fenris) Avenged on the Master. A dream. A reality. But it did get messy. 

Fenris confronts Varania. Hawke wisely stays out of it.

Simon: Wait, we have to help that girl…no one else is!

River: (Shakes her head) No! He gave everything he had for her. She tore his heart out. She isn’t worthy…(trails
off) His friend is doing the right thing.

She nods at Hawke. Simon wavers and then continues to stand protectively near her. Fenris reaches into Varania’s chest and we all know what happens next. Simon shouts in horror, but River silences him. They go unnoticed by Fenris and Hawke.

River: And the last chain breaks.

Simon: (still horrified) You scare me sometimes…how did you know all that again?

River regards Fenris with a sympathetic look, recognizing someone who has, in a way, walked the same path she has. She shakes her head and takes Simon's arm gently.

River:  He's a kindred spirit. I have memories. He has faced horrors much like mine. Now he can find some peace. We should go.

Fenris and River stood at the top of the marble staircase, watching a small army of darkspawn charging toward them. Behind them, Jayne loaded his trusted weapon Vera while Varric pulled out Bianca from his back

Fenris: May the best men win?
River: *giggle* No power in the 'verse can stop me.
Jayne: Talk is cheap, let's start shooting and count later.
Varric: Heyheyhey, there is plenty for everybody, there is not need to scrabble over it.
