SKYRIM
Farkas: I see you have a two-handed sword.
Fenris: I see that you have one, as well.
Farkas: Yes, it helps with the killing of spiders and mages.
Fenris: You dislike mages?
Farkas: I don't trust anything that can set thing's on fire with their minds.
Fenris: Then you and I are in agreement.
Hawke: See I told you they'd get along.
Angel: You're right. Just uh, don't tell Farkas you're a.. you know what
Farkas: A what, my love?
Angel: Nothing my heart. Why don't you take Fenris to meet your brother?
Fenris: Ah, yes. Hawke has told me much about you and your twin. Does he also share your feeling on mages?....
Angel and Hawke watch as the two broody sword-wielders walk away.
Hawke: Hmm, no worries about that. I'll just use big words like Appostate.
Angel: If your lover disliked wizards so, how did you manage to catch his eye?
Hawke: My Charming personality and beautiful smile? Ha, actually I just proved to him that not all mages are weak.
Angel: *sigh* Something I strive to do on a daily basis.
Hawke: Really? I wouldn't take you for a mage with all that plate armor and big swords you carry.
Angel: I've only a little magic, really. Skyrim's a harsh land. Better to be prepared for anything, then find yourself lacking against a foe.
Hawke: Just so long as you don't tell the Mister?
Angel: Oh he knows. Like you, I had to prove I was strong enough for his love.

Week of hell over... I hope.. LOL. Just swinging by to say "Sup, Fenris thread!"
Also, because I totally feel like that picture right now.
Read my dose of Coffee, Black. Gahhh... Act 3 is going to kill me in that story. So many feelings...
Then I read Sia's fic -- great start! I've heard so many good things about your fics and I'm excited to see more. I like having new reading materials to look forward to.
My writing muse is being drowned out by my artistic muse again. Art muse is screaming more FENRIS art and writing muse is screaming write MOAR fic! I'm so... torn...
AND one more thing. I have been playing Skyrim, and I'll play it for like an hour and then get homesick (yes, homesick for a place that doesn't exist) for Dragon Age and so I started another PT that I'm picking up (like I have time) in between my Skyrim sessions.
This might be my Andersmance, but ... I just don't think so. I miss Fenris too much already. *sigh* I'm freakin hopeless I think.
I also consolidated all my Fenris screenshots into one folder -- I'm.. not even going to say how many pics are in there... or how many gigs.. err.. megabytes.. it is ... heh.
Miss you guys. It's been quiet lately!

And I actually got all teary-eyed when I read the very last part of chapter 47; the I love pie bit and how Garrett's never going to stop loving it no matter what. Maker, I'm getting all teary-eyed now while thinking about it! The love between those two... Gosh. I'm dying here.

It has been very quite here lately... and I'm guessing it has a lot to do with a little thing called Skyrim.
I think for most of us yes. I just want to know which sadistic prof decided that scheduling a major exam on the Tuesday before (US) Thanksgiving was a good idea.
I have another chapter of Common Ground almost done and the next outlined...and they are languishing on my hard drive. (The only reason I have chapter 7 mostly done is because I had time on a plane to devote to it last week.) At least I was able to get the rest of Act I outlined into chapter form. At this rate I hope to be on Act II by January. We'll see if the Muse lets me; I've been rewriting the ME fic prologue in my head, and trying to dodge ME spoilers has me wanting to start that fic. Hnnnnnggggh.
@Arquen - I love that pic. I haven't stumbled across that on DA yet. Clearly I haven't spent enough time looking.
I have to read Coffee, Black now. I suspect that will be one of the first things I do after finals are done.

Given my tendency to end-to-end read fics, that's why I'm saving Coffee, Black until after finals. When I first read Sia's ME fics (Loved, Paragon), I got immediately hooked and read both of them straight through in one night.
Aaand...Fenris.

I've started cataloging my Fenris screenshots & with well over 14,000 total screenshots (2 PTs & multiple restarts) not only does that mean a LOT to sort through it would also ultimately give me a HUGE amount of Fenris screenshots as well.
The dilemma I have is whether to collect ALL of the screenshots featuring Fenris or just to try and go for the not-so-ordinary ones. If I choose the latter choice, what designates it as not-so-ordinary?
Thanks for your help!

However, I did do screenshots that I felt were "keepers" -- I separated my Hawkes out into separate folders though so there was some sorting before-hand. If your screenshots are just hodgepodged into a mass folder then I would suggest going through and taking all the individual Fenris screenshots and separating them out first. This isn't too bad, but it does take a while to sift through. I just used thumbnails and any time I saw white hair I moved it over, LOL.
After that you can go through the files again and judge which ones are "keepers," and if you want to move any into the "Fenris" folder.
You can also subcategorize your Fenris folder.. You know.. Fenris romance, Fenris combat, Fenris back, Fenris cutscene, Fenris random...
OKAY I AM STOPPING NOW... I'm starting to feel like people are looking at me funny
AND yes I may or may not have a folder named Fenris back -- that strip of leather that exposes his spine... it.. intrigues me... you know.. RESEARCH. heh... yeah...

OMAI. I shall upload it on my iphone to read. I love reading it there, IDEK.
and HAHAHA, I wish I was playing Skyrim. ATM, I'm crunching out the last 10k out of 50 for NaNoWriMo, thus completing my 100k novel.
Why did I decide to become an author, again?

His whole armor seems to have the purpose of Dexterity -- not surprising since he relies more on killing quickly and not being hit than being a true defensive tank. I would assume that like the front of his armor -- which has a latched leather shirt buried under his chestplate -- it is for mobility purposes. Having that slight gap provides some motility in the shoulder/back area where he can get very low, jump in the air with his sword, or use his markings without straining the leather between his shoulderblades.
Maker's breath.. is there NOTHING I haven't thought about?? *facepalm* again.

Ok, so one of my forum buddies on a reptile website (my other hobby) was talking with me about DA:O since we're both gamers, I ended up buying him DA2, he just finished it and sent me his review. He said he didn't do any of Fenris' personal quests! *headdesk* I just... how could he skip Fenris?! I need to go berate him now...

Even though I hated Merrill (as soon as I met her character I cringed) I still did everything for her/with her. I friended her/ rivaled her. I got to know her as a character, and although I do still very much dislike her, I can't say it is without reason. Then again, that is me. I tear things apart and if I don't like something I ask myself "why?" Usually because the reasons we dislike something can tell us a lot about ourselves.
So, yes.. berate the hell out of your friend until he at least TRIES to get to know Fenris. If he doesn't care, then fine, but sad days. Like me in Skyrim... I just... can't care, but the game doesn't make me want to care. At least Dragon Age 2 made me WANT to care. I immediately got hooked to the companions.. good or ill.
And also.. HOW DID YOU NOT NOTICE. His opening scene has a very up close shot of his back, and I went O.O is that exposed skin through that armor? That's fantastic!
Though, like Rei I have a thing for anatomy and shoulders and spines and lines and angles and gahh Fenris's lines and anatomy and angles are just so damn intriguing and beautiful. I absolutely LOVE his character design. Plus I really loved that armor. It is very unique and while it doesn't scream "warrior" it is very fitting for him. Varric nails it pretty well: "You could try wearing something that didn’t scream: 'I hate you all! I was a slave!'"
heh..
