He could work but I don't see BW picking him to voice Fenris.If not then they should find someone better.

Too high profile? I don't know a whole lot about the man, but he seems about the same level of "high profile" as Yvonne Strahovski, Carrie Anne Moss and Martin Sheen are, if not less.

There are people who think elves are effeminate and therefore elf dudes are queer. If Fenris was the most butch, beer-swilling, manly fighter with a wench in every tavern, they would not change their minds about this.

If David sees Fenris as being bisexual, or even gay, then that's how he should be written. I don't have "concerns about potential stereotypes" because the writers have already shown that they can make queer characters who are more than stereotypes.

Never heard of the guy either. His claim to fame seems to be Prince Caspain, which was something of a bockoffice and critical failure after The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. I hear VotDT is better though.

Yes, yes, I understand (and agree with) all of that. I don't care about appeasing people who have iron-clad preconceptions about elves, nor do I believe the writers aren't up to the task of writing a compelling bisexual character. They wrote at least two of them in Origins alone (three if you count Isabela).

All I'm saying is that I'm hoping a different character is the bisexual male. Not that there shouldn't be one, just that it's not Fenris. I just would like to avoid the feeling of "who's the bisexual male companion? Oh, of course it's the elf." Not that it *can't* be, or that it would be some kind of horrible crime for them to make it so. But maybe it would be similar to seeing a TV show featuring a stay-at-home dad and a breadwinner mom. Not that the other way around would be horrible, but it's sort of a refreshing change of pace, I guess?

I realize that we can't really identify a trend from only one data point (Zevran), but if we widen our scope and consider other games and popular attitudes about elves, there's something there. Not something that has to be avoided at all costs--just...something.

I could turn it around and ask "why does it have to be Fenris?" But I wouldn't, because that would be ridiculous, not least because no one actually said it did have to be him.

I dont have a problem with another bi elf. If it just so happens Fenris is bi, then thats how it is. Elves have feelings too!
