I hang out here, the Garrus thread(s), and Clan Vakarian - and that's pretty much it.  That's in part because I just barely have time to lurk these days (real life bit me in the ass a couple of different ways) and because I can only take so much (bad) crazy. (Our crazy is good! )

I haven't been on the thread as much as I'd like to because of A: EXAMS and B: SKYRIM (yes, yes, I'm very rapidly becoming a fan). I've also been very badly neglecting the Wolf's Imprint

Anywho, just dropped by to check on my favourite thread before yes, you guessed it: before I get back to my studies. My never-ending, life-ruining, frustration-enhancing, time-consuming studies.

XD I probably sound like Fenris, but OMG it's true. I got screwed this year.

Speaking of Fenris and holidays. I'm trying to gear myself up to be in a good mood, or at least a better mood. I was thinking there really isn't a holiday like Christmas or something in Thedas is there? There freakin' should be . I wonder what Fenris's first winter in Kirkwall would be like. The game takes place over so many years. I wonder if the Hawke's would actually build a tradition, and I wonder if Hawke would have Fenris and companions be a part of said tradition.

Like an end of the year feast or a winter solstice thing. Something like this perhaps? Hmm... plot bunnies galore! Gaahhh...

I think they did mention a holuday in one fo the dlc in the first game. Named after an european holuday...thinks its Saturnalia. And chances are it involved frosty toes, colds, snuggling up to Hawke and using her mabari as a foot warmer. Then again I just throw that all out and think they use the old excuse for "keeping warm."

Senestra (the loan shark) mentions Satinalia, and I think that was the holiday mentioned in the "Feast Day Gifts/Pranks" DLC for DA:O. From the Dragon Age wiki article about the Thedas calendar, it looks like the 4 annums (anni?) mark the change of seasons. I'm not sure if they're exclusively a Tevinter thing or not.

That's about all I can find in a quick troll through the Wiki. Practically everything I can find about holidays that is specific is Tevinter and looks mostly related to the Old Gods (like the festival of Urthemiel that supposedly lasted a week).

Back to studying for our last round of exams and then finals (). I can at least sympathizea little, Arquen - I bet when I graduate I will be doing something similar (and did back in my pharmacy days too).

Hmm -- I seriously thought Satinalia was earlier in the year. The Feastday packs came out for origins in like April and they said they signaled Satinalia. I'm confused about this now since the Wiki seems to indicate it is at the end of the year.

Though doing a quick search about it shows that most fics and things put it at the end of the year like a Christmas thing.

Sorry for replying late but after reading the words "LAW EXAM"......you have my deepest condolences as one who has a Sister about to make partner and a Mom who studied 2 years to become a judge. I say that because I was one of many casualties during their 'crazy days' from prepping. Dont go insane.

It's nice to see a Dutch band is known to people in the U.S.  You've collected quite a list of songs for Fenris. The only other artist I recognized was Chris Cornell though.
I realize your taste of music is a bit different from mine, but maybe you could check out some songs by Lifehouse (old songs. I like their new music as well, but the old style matches better with Fenris I think) and The Calling. I like to combine songs with events or persons as well, and I've come up with a few that I found fitting for Fenris:

Lifehouse - Somebody Else's Song
Lifehouse - Unknown
Lifehouse - Sky Is Falling
Lifehouse - Quasimodo
Lifehouse - Storm
Lifehouse - Simon
The Calling - If Only
The Calling - Your Hope

And pretty romance-related songs:
Lifehouse - Everything (really pure perfection this song)
Lifehouse - Hanging by a Moment
The Calling - Wherever You Will Go

About meeting Fenris in DA3 ... well, not really.

1. He has too many potential endings. Of course most of us in this thread romanced his broody pants off, but think of those who didn't. Think of those who gave him up (BASTARDS!). How could the game accommodate for so many differences?

2. If he does make it into the game, chances are good he'll be bugged. Think of the Zevran bug. That still pisses me off. Fixing imported romances is obviously not a priority for BW or else the "Murder of Crows" quest would not still be bugged. Imagine the pain of encountering Fenris in DA3 ... and he acts as if Hawke and he were never involved.

What would be even worse is if David Gaider made good on his comments about the lyrium tattoos having a bad effect on Fenris and you encountered him either horribly crippled or insane. I would rather leave him just happy somewhere with Hawke in my imagination than have something bad happen to him because he returns in DA3.

@Gervaise: I dont wish it to happen...but looking at what happened to Anders....lets just hope it isnt horrible. Then again We're lookking at a scenario where he's ****ed up physically or ****ed up mentally&emotionally....Im sadly hoping for the former as it is.

Gahh! Good choices! Funny because I like a lot of Lifehouse's songs and didn't put these in for some reason. Added them before I go to work, LOL.. perfect timing

"Wherever You Will Go" has a specific meaning for me and will always remind me of something else so I left it out. So does "Everything" and "Hanging by a Moment," but I added those because they just fit so well, and I can overlook my personal attachment to them.

That being said I'm ALWAYS updating that playlist and if people ever have song recs don't ever be sorry to get them to me, LOL. 

As far as the lyrium markings and DA3 cameo -- I'm with moto.. as I said -- it is whatever discretion they want to choose what is "canon," and with so many potential endings I just don't even bother speculating.

About the Lyrium thing and what DG said -- I already covered this with my take on it rather extensively HERE in my Lyrium and Fenris essay thing I wrote when that first came out, LOL.

Anyways, I gotta go to work so will sneak in when I can

After reading your rather long and eye blurry theory...I feel somehwat smarter. (Oh the **** I've read lately has killed many a brain cell lately.) However now Im thinking of Fenris more as a potential tool to maintain and keep sharpen so it stays useful...****e IM having a Danarius moment!

That is one of my favorites as well, and raise hands how many people noticed Hawke bathing in the background? Lmao.

I actually loved this so much I head!canoned it for my Hawke. Those first few nights on the run after Act 3. The way that Anders looks so guilty and remorseful. How Fenris is both watching over things and at the same time lost in his own thoughts. Yeah.. def a fav.

Also, yay new Tumblr fan . I wrote that essay foreber ago, but the lyrium and ritual always was one of those things that intrigued me so I compiled my notes (omg yes I had notes), and wrote that. I have yet to find anything about Fenris I haven't thought about way too much, lol.

Ooh, that's a gorgeous picture. I love how Fenris looks there. His concept art has him as much more muscular and broad than his game model ended up, and while I love his game look, I also very much appreciated the concept art!

You know, I find it interesting how many artists put lyrium lines down the back of his hands that run out to each finger. We can see the fronts of his hands, and they're like that, but I always imagined the back of his hands would have the same curved line with three dots that the tops of his feet have (and I imagine that the bottoms of his feet have lyrium lines down each toe). Am I the only one who thinks that?
