I forgot to say hi to Zeno. HELLO! In Act 2 with Fenris. I have favorite happy, funny and sad moments. Got a good screenie of one of the sad ones! I love this scene. Makes me want to give Fenris great big hugs. ( And anything else he may want!)

Happy New Year, fellow Fen-fans! This year was important to me, and so was DA2 because for the first time, after 31 years, I bought myself an xbox. Yes I was the girl growing up in a household where video games were for boys and girls played with dolls. Years of playing my brother's sega, my cousin's nintendo, and my brother-in-law's xbox ... no more! I have my own system. And it's all because of DA2. All because my brother in law bought DA2 on a whim and played it with me. One day he calls me and tells me, guess what? That pirate girl made out with our girl. A few days later, I find out our "girl" could make out with just about anyone in the game ... including the cute elf and the sexy apostate mage.

I was sold. Counted my pennies, bought a refurbished xbox, and DA2 was on its way to my house

I'm writing a bunch of related one-shots about hawke and Fenris, after The Night leading up to 'I LOVE YOU TAKE ME BACK' conversation. I've got a bunch, but I wanted to know. Was there anything you guys saw happening in your head in between the leaving and returing that you wished there was fic for? I want it to have a lot of parts but I'm a little stuck.

I'm doing a rivalmance with him this go-round. You get some different dialog. The " I know we don't always see eye to eye"... He admits that he doesn't agree with you, but loves you any way. As far as class goes, mine doesn't really count. Thanks to the GFF editor, I'm playing what I call an arcane rogue. And congrats on the xbox!

I've done a rivalmance and friendmance with Fenris, and I feel that friendmance does work for me. But it's a lot more work, and that's why. I find a Friendmance on a mage with him is a lot more of a challange and therefore, more true to life for me. Part of the reason I think it worked for me is I was scarcastic Hawke, and the options, even when you're discussing something serious, make the conversation less weighty. My agressive Hawke was less believeable to me in a friendmance with him because everything was super serious and important. Scarcastic Hawke is never serious and that makes it a lot easier to make it work, for me.

The way it feels for me is that Hawke's personality is what wins him over. Not the choices or even what Hawke says, but how it's said. It brings laughter into his life when there wasn't any before. Well maybe not laughter, but something. An element of freedom that Fenris never really gets to experiance.

Hmm. That was deeply over-thought. XD

Edit-It also occurs to me that I really shouldn't try to express my feelings on the matter when hungover and falling asleep on the couch. I tend to ramble.

Actually Zen what you summed up there is nice for a friendmance......but me I go with rivalmance that starts out as deep grudge respect, then to I get it or Ill turn this car around, to why cant I stop staring at the sweat on his brow and finally Fenris grew some balls dragging hawke by the hair caveman style. Of course my summing up is said out of humor, so dont worry about the ramblings we all tend to do that.

Heehee. Caveman style does have a lot of merit, i'll agree. And the Rivalmance lead-up to sexytimes is a lot better because really, nughhhh. Still, I do like friendmance on a mage because I feel it's a lot harder to get it. I do like a challange.

I can never get into the whole 'drown the world in blood' thing with Anders. It makes me want to go, 'okay, chill dude.'

As to the Fenris romance on the friendship and rivalry paths...I tend to lean towards the rivalry path simply because I love how it plays out. I agree that it seems a little more appropriate as a mage to rivalmance him, but in my current walkthrough, Temperance is trying her best to make everyone happy and is Fenris's friend. She doesn't see some of her actions as being anti-mage; she honestly believes that mages need to be taught to control their powers responsibly. Despite the many atrocities committed by templars, the Circle has helped mages.

Now Samia Hawke, my rogue, loves making mischief for Fenris. She's the sort of person I can see sneaking into Fenris' mansion and putting bright decorations all over the place, maybe prop up the dead bodies to look like they're in the middle of a dinner party. She does not agree with the Circle, thinking that many many improvements can be made. I actually think she's trying to see how many times she can get on Fen's nerves before he pulls out that lovely white hair of his XD

I have a question, however. During 'A Bitter Pill' after he kills Hadriana and asks what has magic touched that it does not spoil, does Hawke make any remark if he/she is a mage? I've played the part several times, but never chose one the options that may bring it up, and I'm curious.

Anders is a romantic  He's very, very, very sweet.  And very masculine for a whiny mage *fans self* I wanna go all Isabela-Love-Scene on his fine ass.

*cough* Back to the topic at hand... I think the point about using sarcastic mage Hawke to romance Fenris is a good one.  I can see that actually working.  Diplomatic Hawke is just soooo seeeeerious (both my mages have been diplomats) and I just don't fully buy Fenris' conversion.  

Another problem I have is ... how to go anti-mage as a rogue or warrior.  You have to do a little role-playing in your head to make it work because Bethany is very sweet and Hawke is obviously WRITTEN to care for her.  It's canon that he loves her (think of when he stands between her and Wesley).  So I've been debating on whether or not to do a pro-templar runthrough (with Fenbear at my Hawke's side, of course) but in my mind I just can't make it work.  I did purposefully pick short-haired Bethany though b/c she looks more b!tchy to me

He is a romantic, but sometimes it feels a little hollow to me. If I never take you with me and just flirt a lot, how do you know you -love- Hawke? If only we had some actual parts where the whole group of them was hanging out at Hawke's house or something. Because really, I would love that.

Diplo Hawke and Agressive Hawke just don't work for me with Fenris. Like you said, so serious. And really, if both people in a relationship are uber serious it just...Meh, makes things boring.

Very true. Hawke clearly loves his sister and no matter what, he seems to put family above most things, which makes 'TEMPLARZ FTW' really hard to follow through on. That's why I took her to the deep roads and didn't bring Anders. Lot easier to side with the templars when your sister is noooot around.

I did an anti mage playthrough (rival manced Anders and sided with the Templars, oh lordy.....never ever doing THAT again)

I role played it as finally being out of Lothering, and away from the parents influence (really....all of a sudden I'M head of the family *yeah*!) and I can start complaining to Bethany about always having to be on the run....blah blah blah...i.e. starting to channel dead Carver.

I love Aggressive Hawke with Fenris. The way they play off each other is hilarious.

And I managed pro templar Hawke that wasn't that fond of Bethany (he just didn't want her hurt and didn't like strangers getting in her face) fine.

I go to bed and miss an entire conversation O.o I think rivalmancing Fenris as a mage is far more believable... and somehow, I find it more romantic... or maybe that's just because it involves Fenris *Sweatdrop* Haha - I honestly think that rivalmancing is a bit more fun... it's aggressive and still Fenris-lovey at the same time :wub: Course, friendmancing is also fun... but that's more of the lovey dovey cutesy stuff... uh... well... more or less, all things considered...

Thankfully Im going the 4 route path for personalities with 1 being a wild card. But for the three in my head I play them as this.

Agressive Warrior!hawke has to be blunt since she's emotionally needy but is scared to fall in love, cue friendmance with Fenris to help smooth each other edges. Whereas Agressive Mage!Hawke is paranoid about falling to the dangers of magic and lets Fenris be that "Knight in broody armor" to be there to personally stop her should she cross that line and give into a demon, friendmance that started as 'I respect you too much man' (both are pro sane templars, they just dont approve of Meredith's, Kerras and Alrik's methods after being with Fenris and his slave mentality)

Diplomatic Rouge!hawke is a bit of sociopath doing the dirty work with a smile so no love done has to cry again despite her hypocritical ethics, cue rivalmance with fenris where they really develop that agree to disgree thing to see the shades of gray. (Almost was tempted to write my first fanfiction involving a scene where Hawke almost dies and Fenris breaks down telling her she doesnt need to lessen her burdens and all that mushy jazz)

Snarky Mage!Hawke....thats the wild card cause shes truly neutral in the sense she supports both sides to try helping them. She understands the importance of a circle but she wants it to be its own separate entity away from the chantry so Mages, with their families nearby, can learn to fully bring the betterment(not a real word) of all races. Like advances in Hygiene, better education in blood magic to help natural born diseases and physical handicaps. Neurology all that good stuff. However Fenris is being a funny duddy on that as an excuse to be magisters when all Hawke can think about is immunizations for children around cold season. Rivalmance that starts off "burn the witch' to 'now that I can read I realize how much of an **** I was to you, I still dont trust your magic but I can see myself having kids with you, I mean keep a closer eye on you."

Great balls of wall o text, but I really like the rivalmance not just for sexy times. Gotaa love that I can prove Im a better person route.

I haven't yet rivalmanced... but i really really like the friendmance. I usually go all sarcastic on everyone anyway, so its friendmancing... but now with more sarcasm.
My last playthrough.... i sided with the Templars. I probably always will. I don't like mages. I like certain mages... i like Bethany, I like Anders.... but the majority are just bad. It really is true that 90 percent of the mages you run into in the game are either abominations or blood mages or something.
When even Anders has something to say to that regard.... its just .... i think the game played that really poorly. and due to that fact, i will never really like mages in the game. in general. So i tend to habitually play semi-anti-mage. Even though I don't really like Meredith.
