Hey guys ... I asked this in the tech help forum but haven't gotten any responses. And I figure it's an easy question for knowledgeable people (unlike me).

I tried to make a new Hawke (new game), and it told me I needed to erase some saved games before starting a new one. I'm on the 360 ... does anyone know how to do this? I definitely have a couple lame-o Hawke's I wouldn't mind getting rid of.

Go to 'Settings', System -> Storage -> Hard Drive -> Games and apps -> Dragon Age II. THere, you will see save files and you can select/delete them individually. I don't know of a way to block-delete them, but there you go.

Ninja answered...HA!  (Saw this on my phone; got on my computer to answer it.)  Sooooo, do what Ursula said.

BTW great prompts Ursula, and great responses so far.  Posted Image

THanks!  (And I just happened to be playing Mass Effect when I saw motomotogirl's post, so I dropped out and double-checked it. :) )

Edit: ToP AGAIN?! It appears my ToP mojo is back. Hmm...what to link today... I'm reading Arcane_Solana's 'The Wolf's Imprint', so Arquen's pic for that makes sense. :)

I just realized something... I have NO idea if Fenris has pointy elf ears in The Wolf's Imprint or not. Crap. I drew him with elf ears.. like.. you know.. as if he was an elf XD.

Son of A....

Also... for the prompt.. an excerpt thingie from the story that I will never finish due to real life constraints OMG *sadface*

Prompt: Shadows...

"He stood there, like he had on so many a night before. A silent vigil. A shadow. A ghost, as Varric had so eloquently put it. Outside her mansion, he stood. The winters in Kirkwall sometimes brought with them snow. Tonight it was snowing and exceptionally cold. The flurries came softly and silently. Sticking in his snow white hair, drifting and clinging to his eyelashes before melting. He pulled the hood of his cloak forward, the cold biting into him. He could tell the others were already there, and had probably been there for a while. Lights shone from the windows. Warm and inviting. If he concentrated enough he could hear the faint sound of laughter. The back of the estate was closed off, but he found his way in, ghost that he was, wolf that he was. He would stand here for hours, hidden, and her estate whispered of hope, and belonging, and freedom. Of things he thought he once had, but lost. He closed his eyes against the snow, the darkness behind his lids filling him for a moment, and then he opened them again. He sighed, and moved towards the front door. He tucked the gift into one of his larger belt pouches, still unsure if the right moment would ever come."

I can see why that would make you sad. That's quite a teaser!

And don't worry about how Fen looks in that pic. Arcane loves it, he's dead sexy in it, and it's gorgeous. :)

Love it? I ADORE IT! Arquen, don't get me started with my gushing! You know it'll take me page after page till I finally stop. Pianist Fenris is HOT and I adore him to no end.

Just for the record though: Fenris is a human in TWI, so no adorable pointy elf ears. But he wouldn't look like Fenris without them. If you painted him with human ears, he'd be Fen, not Fenris. It just wouldn't be the same.

Wow... I mean.. I know everyone is gearing up for Mass Effect, and probably has deserted the Dragon Age forums, but 1 whole day!?

This makes me sad...

I mean, there isn't much to contribute I guess as far as discussion? *sigh* I knew this day would come some time. I just hoped the slow down to a crawl wouldn't happen until at least after 2000 pages. *double sigh*

Ahh well... I don't have much to contribute, but I do have these:

and

Now the interesting thing about these two is that this is the moment RIGHT AFTER he pushes Hawke up against the wall for glowy kiss. He is backing up.. and it is like he wants to say something "I'm sorry.." or "I shouldn't have reacted that way.." or just sort of asking permission, and Hawke doesn't let him finish. Doesn't let him back up and back away.. not this time. Hawke takes him by the shoulders and pulls him/herself to Fenris for glowy kiss. This is why it is my favorite kiss. I just.. this face, and the reaction, and as much as I love the "command me to go.." kiss.. this one is my favorite.

I'm still here, darling! I was busy driving people places yesterday, and then watching Supernatural. But still here! :D

I love this one too. He's clearly about to start backtracking but Hawke is pretty much 'Uhm, no.' Which is honestly what the boy needs because really, otherwise it's going to take him for EVER to make a move. I always though it was really amazing how his face shifted right after his initial reaction, from angry and violent to 'Damn, sorry'. It's a real credit to the animators, in my eyes.

I wish we had gotten a longer cut, though. Isabela, Anders and Merrill all got fair portions for before and after....Espically Isabela. I suppose they used most of Fenris's time for his speech about remembering, but still. Damn. At least we get to see Anders on a BED. -_-'

I have to agree with you, Arquen. I have to say it's a reason I've been spending a lot more time on Mass Effect topics. ME fans have a lot to look forward to right now, especially since there are continuations of LIs from game to game in that series provided your LI is still alive. The ME universe seems to have far more continuity in that regard than Dragon Age, and I really hope they keep it that way. I really don't want to see Shepard get 'Dragon Aged' as in ... we never find out what happened. I think we will get closure, for good or for ill. (And I still feel like there's a chance that Shepard and Co can save the galaxy. If this was Dragon Age, I wouldn't be so confident of that. In fact, Dragon Age has me worried about that a bit in ME.)

(Yes, I know there are ME3 spoilers out there. I am very deliberately avoiding them.)

Back to Dragon Age and eventually to Fenris...

I know that Bioware/EA/etc don't want to take away any of ME3's thunder, but I wish that something Dragon Age would get teased. I suspect at ME3 launch we might get something, but it really feels like Dragon Age itself is in limbo, to me.

IMO, in a perfect world, Hawke still "isn't quite done yet" to use TGP's words. Right now, I feel like there's far less closure to Hawke's story than the Warden's; at least at the end of Awakenings I had something I could very well cope with. The Blight is ended one way or the other, my Lady Couslands all got their Alistair (headcanon for me is Wardenstair, but I have a King and Queen in there too), etc.. I know there's that "Except Fenris" bit in Varric's closing, but I still feel like there's more to the story that we don't know yet.

*Sigh* Yeah, I still want more Hawke and Fenris that I can actually play, hear, and see, rather than what I am writing. Yeah, I am really enjoying writing it, but...give me moar, please, Dragon Age team!

That was a lot of rambling. To make up for it, here's an absolutely beautiful MEG contribution from yuhime, called "Mourning". This too makes me want to write Act II.

He looks like he's exploding! :P

And other than that, yeah, not much to contribute. No new discussion or anything. :( Well, I go back to writing more Fenris then myself. I forgot how addicting it is to write a story. A story about Fenris even more so. :P

It's true. I mean Hawke's story is so pitifully cliffhanger it is unreal. What happens to Hawke/Fenris after the game ends? I mean as Viscount they are probably in the city for a while, but then they would have to leave eventually. The "except Fenris" dialogue is pitifully vague. You aren't sure where Hawke is now, and the only hint Varric gives is that they are undoubtedly still alive.

So far we have Legacy and MotA, which aren't really continuity of Hawke's story, and I honestly doubt we will ever see the "end" of Hawke. Hawke rode off into the sunset and is Maker knows where until we get some kind of cameo or maybe an Expansion that explains it more. I'm not terribly hopeful, and that makes me sad.

What makes me more sad is the idea that Fenris will probably not exist outside of DA2. Hawke's story is finished, and besides a cameo I fear Fenris will probably go the way of the others. It isn't fair, Anders got an Expansion and another full game. Isabela got a cameo and a full game. Merrill even got a cameo and a full game. Varric, Aveline, Fenris, and Hawke all got DA2 and I fear they will stay there forever. If there is not even a cameo in DA3 I will be disappointed, but moreso than that if there isn't even more xpacs or DLC I will be devastated.

People will eventually tire of fanfiction and headcanon. They need meat and canon and reality to sink into, and I fear DA2 might just be on the backburner right now. I hope that is ALL it is, and they have plans for the game and more xpacs soon.

This year is the year for Mass Effect, though. Next year will probably be Dragon Age year -- which is funny because on the Chinese calender this is the year of the Dragon :).

What do you guys headcanon for Fenris and Hawke post Act 3? I have different headcanons for different Hawkes. I sided with the Templars twice and the mages six times, lol. So I have slightly different things I think happen based on that. Most of them involve Isabela's boat and King Alistair.

It would be nice if Bioware threw us a bone....but IM wary of how much of that bone is 'story canon' vs whatever the hell my choices were. Easy enough for me Mage sides in hiding taking care of each other.*cough*snuggles*cuogh*
As for templars...putting the city together while trying to put up a good Image of mages and rebuild a more sanitary and sane circle.
Thats just a run down for bare bones ending. It be too complicated to add in the personalities and who I meta-rivaled/friendship to keep on my side.....They truely need a damned expansion that further ties into DA3 awakenings style...but twice as long. Cant have too much mr. emery talking.

I would love learning more of what happens to Hawke, because it certainly isn't over for me. With Allegheny Cousland, I could at least take comfort that she ran off to Antiva to snog find Zevran (even if there isn't any indication of that thanks to a bug <_<).

I have two main 'canon' Hawkes I guess you could say. Both are independent of each other, since they have different Wardens. Or they will, once I finish my elf Warden playthrough.

For Temperance Hawke a mage with the aformentioned Cousland background, all I know is that she and Fenris took off for the hills when the Meredith fight was over. I would hope that they went somewhere nice and had loads of 'thank the maker we're alive' smexy times . He's the only family she's got, thanks to Mama Leandra going to join Malcom, Bethany, and Carver in the Fade.

Also, running into Isabela would be bad, since she never returned and Tempe had to fight the Arishok, rawr. Way to drop the ball there, Rivani.

I have played as Samia Hawke a few times, but I'm going to redo her story with an elf Warden background. In the past I've had her side with the templars, simply because she wants to save Bethany from being killed. She'll probably step in as a temporary viscount for a year or two, but will leave when it looks like she's no longer needed. Her beloved Fen will be waiting to hop aboard 'Bela's shiny ship with her to sail to places unknown.

A cute pic of Temperance and Fenris. I love it to bits, mainly because it looks like he's comforting her or something.

Question here. I am rivalmancing Fenris for the first time, ( I have friendmanced ) I am at 100% rival, in Act 3. Do I get a QB quest for him at some point? I thought I should, but could be wrong. Thanks!

You should have the opportunity to do Alone, then go back to his mansion and kiss-kiss-make-up.  (Maybe a bit of shouty-shouty make-up, since I haven't played all the way through the rivalmance, but the scenes should all still be the same.)

You did give him the Book of Shartan in Act 2, right?

Whether my Hawke is diplomatic or sarcastic, mage or not mage, in my mind, it always ends the same.  Hawke always, always sides with the mages.  He always friendmances Fenris.  (So there is some growth on Fenris' part.)

I see them maybe traveling with their friends for a bit.  But eventually, they either buy or build a small house somewhere, in a beautiful, fairly remote area, maybe a few miles out from a small village.  They're surrounded by fields and forests, and no one bothers them.  Their friends know where they are if they want to find them :)

I have a silly head canon of Isabela x Merrill, so I imagine that Merrill goes off with Isabela and they go on adventures together.  Every now and then, the two girls visit the old "stick in the muds" as Isabela refers to them.  Sometimes Anders visits, too (more likely if Hawke is a mage).  I think Varric and Hawke likely keep up a steady exchange of hilarious letters.  Aveline and Donnic get steady positions somewhere (perhaps remaining in Kirkwall) and rarely visit.  They have a couple kids, and it's hard for both of them to get away from the guard.

Sigh.  Makes me want to write that, but what's interesting about a couple of warriors enjoying their retirement? LOL

EDIT: I just had a thought.  Why do you think so many people lack empathy for Fenris?  I was shocked by the virtiolic hate I saw thrown against him when I first encountered these forums.  Yes, there are those who say he looks like "an anime character" (I wish someone would explain this one to me...?) but then there are those who say they hate him because all he does is whine.

How could you see this character, listen to his story, and go on this journey with him ... and call him a whiner?

The man is a former slave.  Has anyone ever read "What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?" by Ferderick Douglass and thought, "What a whiner!"  I am just shocked by the complete inability for some players to sympathize (let alone empathize) with this incredibly sympathetic character.

The only other companion who gets this level of incomprehensible hate, in my opinion, is Isabela, who is often simply labeled a sl*t (not sure if the word will come through).  But I just assume those are just Neanderthals who see women as either saints (Merrill) or wh*res (Isabela).

Thoughts?

motomoto, GACK! I messed something up! I did Alone, but no make up scene. I did give him the book in Act 2. Dang, now I have to back up. Oh well, more play time.
Thanks for the answer!

EDIT: My game must be bugged or something, I've backed up 3 times, and no make up scene after Alone.  This sucks!:crying:

I've heard of this bug happening before.. what platform do you play on? If it is the PC it could be because of a mod. I heard there was some mod that made the quest in Act 3 bug. Unfortunately, the person wasn't kind enough to say which mod.. only that they uninstalled all the mods and it worked.

If it is the Xbox version I think there was some kind of bug where the romance doesn't pick up if you choose the aggro option after sexy times. However, if you got the puppy dog eyes and the flirt option in alone you should be set.

It probably is some kind of mod or a corrupted save somewhere. All I can really tell you. :( I'm not sure why but this has been happening a lot to people lately.

As far as the rivalmance, if you are 100% red then he should trigger QB and he should side with you against the mages. If you aren't 100% maxed rival and side with the mages you will have to convince him to side with you (I think he has to be 100% rival, but it's one of those things people debate.. either way he has to be almost max or max at LEAST to side with you.)

quickie post.. so will have to get to Moto's question later.

Bottom line is people see Fenris as a "whiner" because they think he doesn't do anything to help himself. That he always looks to Hawke to solve his problems, and that he "whines" about his markings being branded into him, not knowing what to do with his freedom, and then doesn't try to fix the problems.. just complains about them. Which isn't true at all, and is just a simplified and glossed over version of his character because people don't pay attention and don't care for whatever reason.

Momo that is an excellent example and I am proud you brought up that book. (regret not reading it in high school) There is a very good difference between "OH he's EMO!"  to "Holy **** this man is intelligent but was treated below an animal...wheres Danarius and that syringe full of bleach when I need it!"

Ahem don't let it get to you man, just like the occasional Fenders or isabella arguments. The latter IM not touching with a 100ft pole because IM still hung up on the fact its just my Hawk'e vagjayjay thats haunted and makes his memories come back. Besides my only hang up with Isabella is based on personality and the little hang ups I have with Jezabel, Sapphire, Sapphire's mama and Carmen stereotypes. (Look up a site called the Jim crowe Musuem of Racism to better understand those examples).

Bloody hell rambling again, but yeah....cant fault for wanting to love that lil wolf and making sure he gets what he wants in life. BUt there is one thing I had to ask since you brought up Federick Douglas? Do YOU think of Fenris as a black man or a really taned man who lived in hotter climates?

The anime thing probably stems from the fact that he has white hair (which is a very popular color in japanese animes and video games) and big, colorful eyes.

I think another problem people have with Fenris is his stance towards mages. He clearly does not trust them, and for some people, his attitude is horrible. It doesn't help that he's rude to popular characters like Anders and Merrill. If that is their favorite character to romance, then having Fenris say the things he does won't make him look very good. Admittedly, there are times where I wish I could have Hawke turn around and smack Fenris, but I always let it go.

Also, I think that there are some people that are still confused about the friend/rivalry system. They seem to be under the impression that if you have high rivalry (not very difficult if you're supporting the mages and take Fen everywhere) then he hates you. Not once have I seen evidence that would allow me to reach that conclusion, but we all view things differently.

People might not take him many places if they want to play their game with the 'ideal' party, so his rivalry/friendship bar might remain in the neutral range and you never get any of his Questioning Belief quests. Then in the end, if you side the mages, he'll refuse to help. Not endearing to a lot of people.

Of course there are some that might have decided from the beginning that they weren't going to like him, and nothing anyone can say will change their minds.

The same thing goes for Isabela, or any of the characters really. People see their dominate trait (For Fenris, apparently its his dislike of magic; Isabela its her 'wanton ways') and if they don't like it, they don't like the character. Frankly, I find that to be really stupid. To me, seeing all the hate for Fenris or Isabela makes me think that people don't really get it. I have seen posts on here where people say that they don't like Fenris, so they give him back to Danarius every time.

This is where I run into problems. I'm sorry, but if you hate a character that much, that you are going to give him back to a known blood mage (one who inflicted enough pain on him that he no longer remembers the first part of his life as a slave) then you need some help. I don't care what type of Hawke you are playing as, that is a douche move. This ex-slave came to you for help and has offered to help you with anything you needed from the beginning. Yes, he does not like magic, but after the life he has led, can you really blame him? Tell me how you would act after being in the same exact circumstances as him, because I want to know. Most of us have seen the letter you get if you return Fenris to Danarius. It blows my mind to think that someone hates him that much that they will let him have his memory wiped again. It isn't even worth it finacially at that point in the game, so I don't want to hear the excuse about getting gold for doing so.

*gets off soapbox*

To people that do not like certain characters, all I have left to say is if they bother you that much, then don't recruit them. That way, you don't ever have to put up with them. And if that character is Fenris, fine. I will be more than happy to play a walkthrough where I recruit him for every time you don't.

Well, now that fI've finished my mini rant for the day, I think its time for me to head to church and pray for those who don't think Fenris isn't a worthy character to get to know. Alas, if only there were someone like Sebastian to keep me company at church

I agree that people are too quick to judge. I didn't like Isabela at first, but after a PT with her as a friend, I saw how her character developed, now I like her. I didn't hate her. I think people are just doing the 'first impression' thing. You can't do that and get to know someone. I love Fenris, and Anders. In Anders case, he did something he thought was the right thing to do, then it bit him in the butt. I've done that in RL. A lot of the enjoyment I get from this game is getting to know the characters. I wish there was more interactions with your companions!
