Speaking of Isabela spying. Has anyone else noticed that strange little glitch where, if you only have Fenris (or no one at all) in your party when you do his Act 3 QB, when you leave that room after the kiss and make up (which in my headcanon ends in more than a kiss)...you have Isabela standing right outside the door (or Aveline and Varric if she's gone). If you click on her, she just innocently comments as if she's in your party.
It's....most unsettling.

That IS unsettling.
EDIT: Hmm, near ToP and no pics? Time to fix that. Here's another 'Brofist' comic from radientphoenix111.

I wish I didn't play on 360 because I'd show a screenshot. The best I can do is try and get a bad photo of my useless tv screen.
That one thing is why Isabela eavesdropping on that whole conversation and then running back to the Hanged Man to tell Varric/anyone that'll listen that Hawke and Fenris are back together is my headcanon.

I play on 360 too and am now going to find a saved game to see if I can find little miss Izzy eavesdropping!! That little minx.
But I agree with the above - Fenris does not share. And neither does my Hawke

And Isabela is totally spying on Fenris and Hawke! In my headcanon/fic she finds out they've slept together a few days after by eavesdropping their first conversation after.

I mean, they don't talk about it. Of course that is head!canon and muddled and most people rage that Hawke simply says "You didn't want to talk about it" -- Going instead "I BLOODY FREAKIN DID WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT! HAWKE YOU LIAR!"
LOL, honestly I head!canon that Izzy just "knows" these things. She is a quickstudy of people, and a great manipulator. She can tell many things from a glance, a manor, an action. I think she knows more about people than she wants to admit to herself sometimes. I think, while she might try her hand at eavesdropping for her trollish and voyeuristic ways, she probably doesn't have any need to overhear them talking. She probably just "knows" when it happens.
If you want my honest opinion I think Fenris and Isabela actually become pretty close as friends through the 3 year gap. I don't think Fenris would ever allow a Fenribela situation to occur, even though I'm sure Isabela pushes the subject, but it seems that after Act 2 (If Izzy doesn't leave) there is something between them that is more familial. In the codex it states that Isabela and Hawke had "words" after the Arishok battle. She also avoids Hawke for 3 years, much like I see Fenris and Hawke being sort of distanced from each other for those 3 years as well.
This isn't to say that Fenris and Hawke don't care about each other, that they don't see each other, but they are careful, and guarded, and trying to figure things out for themselves. I think Isabela is just the kind of person who would constantly pick at Fenris, push him, visit him, tease him, troll on him. I think after what happens with Hawke he would appreciate that kind of person in his life. Not to mention his visceral reaction when she takes the book "Once a thief, always a thief," and his lecturing to her. "If you wish to thank Hawke, he/she is right over there." He trolls on Isabela and teases her almost as much as she does to him, but in a completely platonic sense. It really shows in Act 3, and I've always thought that behind the scenes there was a lot of Isabela holding up both Hawke and Fenris after their fiasco.
Sorry, this little rant got away from me. Point being that I think Isabela knows a lot about what happens between Fenris and Hawke, and even in Act 3 is probably the first to recognize that moment when they make up. Whether she is there by a bug or not.
Never gotten the bug myself, but I play on the PC. More than likely it comes from the fact that in the Act 3 cutscene either Varric/ Aveline or Isabela is present in the beginning of the cutscene. It triggers them as physically being there in the party for some reason, instead of just in the cutscene. Strange bug, lol.

Oh, she knows, that's why she wanted to know more and eavesdropped in the first place.

Only Fenris mostly claims he is alone and doesn't have any friends... Well, okay, he says he doesn't have any friends in act 2, so it could be their friendship evolved in the next 3 years. I believe it does as well.
My apologies for forgetting credit for the last pic I posted. I was in a hurry. It was made by Agregor

I think we can imagine all kinds of romances and friendships springing up between the companions off screen, but the thing is, the actual game doesn't give us any proof of that. I think it's one of the faults of the game and evidence of how much it was rushed. When Hawke walks in and sees Aveline talking to Fenris in his mansion ... it's a jolt every time for me. Since when did these two become friends? Why is Aveline doing Fenris a favor? It's frustrating. The game needed to do more to build these relationships up!

LOL I will "blame" a wizard for all the GOOD things about DA2. All the lovely writers, artists, musicians and other developers who somehow magically put together what's become my favorite game PERIOD.
But sometimes I can't help but notice where things could have been better, and that definitely occurs when I think about the relationship between companions and even between Hawke and his/her companions. I didn't like how the past three years were merely mentioned in passing or in banters. I wanted to EXPERIENCE and PLAY those episodes!!!

I think Fenris has a sense of humor that sort of sneaks up on you, and he plies it on all the companions. This doesn't mean that he has any kind of special friendship with any of them though. We learn time and time again that Fenris is a loner, and that the only person he feels close to is Hawke (when in a romance). Varric fusses at him for being a "ghost" in the city; Isabela urges him to move out of his mansion, and so on. Hell, Fenris' final quest is titled "Alone," during which he dolefully says, "I am alone." I don't see Isabela running up and hugging him, "I'm here, buddy!" LOL Only Hawke has the ability to say (when in a romance), "I'm here, Fenris." (One of the many, many cheesy lines that occurs in this romance...)

Fenris does seem to have a friendship with Donnic, which we learn about when Aveline is around. I think the Alone quest deals with Fenris's need for family, but when Varania turns out to be the backstabbing cow that she is his dreams of that are gone. Hawke fills that gap if you go the romance route.
Also, in Legacy if you have Fenris and Aveline in your party, Fenris mentions that Donnic has been discussing wanting children with Aveline. They'd have to be pretty good friends for that discussion to occur.
I personally think that he keeps his distance with Isabela if your in a romance with him. She keeps pursuing him even after it's known that Hawke and he are in a relationship. I think he's all romanced out after the sex causes memories.,
So, I do think Aveline and Donnic do have a friendship with Fenris during that three year gap. That's why she helps, maybe even writes the letter to Varania, if Fenris still can't write. Just a guess.
My two cents

True enough. I don't like the random three years gaps. It feels weird, especially the one between act 2 and 3, considering what happened in the Fenris romance. I know this has been discussed before, so I don't intend to really bring it up again, but I'm having trouble imagining how Hawke and Fenris have interacted during those years. It's such a long time for leaving and asking whether Hawke would still want him.
Ah well. The kiss in the second QB makes it up a bi.

I was just playing Mass Effect 2 when I came upon this character named Captain Gavorn. I talked to him and during our conversation he laughed and I was like "that laugh sounds totally like Fenris". I repeated the conversation about 3 times until I knew for sure it was Gideon Emerys voice. I checked his voice actor bio just to be sure and I was right.
It just made my day to hear that voice and that cute laugh in such an unexpected place. Oh I love Fenris!
This is my first post here eventhough I have lurked about for a bit. I don't know if this has been mentioned before but I just wanted to share my little discovery that made me happy
Ohmygod, I didn´t realize. Its not as nice Cpt Gavorn voice compared to Fenris´s, but still great. Do you have a list of other characters he has given his voice to? I´m so happy BW seem to like Emery Gideon!
I started to play ME2 series a months ago. Bioware REALLY knows how to make exceptionally great games! I didn´t ever though Ill find another game who equals DA series <3 And I shiftet my obsession from Fenris to Thane, for a while. Kinda miss hanging out here...
