I agree with you all; the designs of these prints is disappointing, to say the least. I mean, Fenris' markings look so... blah.

And the colouring is meh too.  Considering all the fanart, I'd think they could consult their fandom and get MUCH better designs than any of those they showed!

I totally agree - I'm just a little concerned that may be the closest to a Fenris tee we ever get. :( (*Ordered her Garrus tee this weekend...*)

And near-ToP: I think I've posted this before, but I also think it's very cool, so here ya go (courtesy of Banni-Whitemane)

Hey guys!

I need some help. I'm currently writing my fanfiction and for some reason I had the idea in that mind that the reason why Fenris never escaped from Danarius before was due to him somehow imbolising Fenris due to his markings. But I can't find any evidence of this anywhere.

Or was this just a theory we had back from the day before the release of DA2?

*relurks*

I don't think that is stated anywhere in the game. You can ask Fenris why he has never tried to escape before, and his answer is that escaping simply doesn't occur to you as a slave. You're only busy with what the next our will bring and with your master's needs. So from this you could conclude Danarius didn't even need to immobilise (you meant immobilise, right? Can't find a meaning of "imbolising") Fenris to prevent his escape.

Thank you!

I just dont know where I got that in my head at all. Perhaps its the comment when Fenris says he's not sure if Danarius can track him due to his lyrium.

Havent played the game in a while .

That's a very nice pic. And poor Fenris does need more loving attention. ;)

And I can't believe I only just noticed it, but Arcane_Solana: You're the one who's writing "The Wolf's Imprint" ? I love it! Your re-imagining is excellent! And I just love the image of Fenris in a black turtleneck! The last chapter was wretching. Very well done!

I third the need for Fenris loving. And that picture above by Splintter is awesome.
Skyrim and SWTOR definitely still have people's attention. And Bioware hasn't said much on DA3 yet, not that I'm expecting to see my favourite elf. Would be nice though!

I have a silly non-Fenris related question, but I just can't seem to figure it out. Sorry for the off-topic-ness and possible stupidity, but: how can you make a sig? I just can't find it anywhere in the profile options. I would like to place the link to my fic in my signature, but I can't find the option to create one.

Another Fenris by Splintter to make up for the non-Fenris question.

WOW! He looks great there! Surprisingly masculine. But still cute.

Know what's sad? I actually made a sig a few days ago *points down* but I just went searching all over the profile options and now can't figure out how I did it!!!

Should be studying, have test tomorrow, really early too but, meh. Studying is so very boring compared to catching up. I loaned out my DA2 and I swear it was barely out the door before I was whining about how obviously they weren't going to treat my Fenris with care.Who will romance him!

@ Arcane
I know Asunder was not available in Australia via Kindle. I bought my copy from The book Depository http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/
It works out cheaper than from Amazon for print books as they ship to Australia for free.

For those of you who don't know Splintter is the actual animator that worked on Fenris's in game animations *sage nod* If anyone knows what Fenris's face and animations looks like it would be them, LOL.

I am incredibly awed by Splintter and wish they would do more Fenris, LOL. It's pretty great though when the animator who spent a million and plus hours looking at Fenris still has a passion and love of the character enough to want to do fanart of them.

Fenris indeed does need more love. The thread has been moving slowly, and I haven't had time to contribute at all. It breaks my heart, but it is just one of those things that happens after a while.

As for previous discussion (from like 2 pages ago). My brain is fried from work and so this is probably half baked, but my point isn't that Fenris is very close to Isabela or anyone really besides Hawke. Hawke is really the only person he opens up too, and I don't see him sharing a lot with anyone else. He wouldn't, for instance, ever tell Izzy about the Fog Warriors. However, I think it is rather obvious that he makes regular contact and makes "friendships" outside of Hawke. To me, this includes Isabela especially after "the night." As I said I think Isabela is someone who challenges him, visits him, and generally pesters him enough to make him smile, and tease back, and I think a friendship does form there. Even in MotA Fenris is very teasing of Isabela and they seem to have this mutual understanding. Whereas I see him having a "friendship" also with Donnic and Aveline (Aveline moreso because she is someone he can rely on and go to for help and when he wants to keep something secret.) Donnic because I think he enjoys the company of someone honest to just play cards with and be outside the crowd of the Hanged Man. As for the rest, well Merrill and Anders he barely tolerates and Varric I think is more "all business," and they have more of a rival friendship going on.

Basically, Fenris isn't an island, and that is the whole point. He gets simply tired of running, and a part of him wants to reach out to people and find some kind of foot hold in the world. He is reserved, and doesn't make friends easily nor does he know exactly what to do with social interactions or friendships. However, he does participate, and he does insert himself into the social circle of Hawke's party/friends.

Now I think I'm rambling and I'm being called away. Basically, I agree that he is reserved and doesn't really have friends and is a loner, but he also does seek interactions with others, and finds friendships or at least aquaintences outside of Hawke that he relies on and values.

Well the tides of the fandom are ebbing to a slow halt since  ME3 is coming up the horizon, no new word of any expansions to help tie Hawke's story up nicely into DA3 since Asunder came oot.
So yeah....expect a dry season of a character we all respect and love fall into the shadows.....*sigh* this is why I dont like getting attached to characters. Letting them go while I fawn over the next one just makes it hard.

Perhaps by "left Hawke's side" it really just means they stopped being traveling companions. People settle down, get jobs, make connections, fall in love :) Doesn't mean they don't continue to write or visit.

That's pretty much what I told myself.:D

It is quiet, not much news about DLC or the new Dragon Age.  And I find myself playing SWTOR way too much...my DH has become concerned...just kidding:lol:

Exactly why I don't really "get into" so many characters. Fenris was kind of an exception for me, and Dragon Age as a whole. Even though I am an Alistair fan I never posted on the boards or anything. Fenris won't ever really be something that will fall into the shadows for me. I'm not one to move from obsession to obsession or fandom to fandom. I don't blame anyone for being excited for other things or moving on or back to their original obsessions. I just can't seem to quit when it comes to this character, though. *shrug*

I'm just kind of sad that the truth of it is people are moving on to other things, and I just want more Dragon Age 2 stuff, LOL. Then again I'm not a Mass Effect player either so I bet if I was I would probably be more .. I don't know? excited? Instead of just meh.

Though thanks to Asunder I have this whole head!canon story of where Gwenya and Fenris are going after Act 3 XD. It really did a lot for my head!canon, but.. gah.. my heart. Such a good book!

Oh yeah, arts before I go sleep...

Well Arquen least you can fall back on your drawings and knowit wont fade....hell last I checked fans from FF7 are STILL going strong, but then again I left that boat asap when it reached the states screaming great joy. (Im still pissed how the translators handled barret.)

Oh thats a wonderful food for thought we might have more fans in the in japan, sotuh korea, china for ol fenboy...damn Im horrible at words. Gues what Im trying to say is as long as people remeber it, it wont die. That and Im sure we can envision Fenris to live on...in mr Gideon Emery. *salutes*

Lol, now yeah, that's sad, haha. xD For me I mean, because I still don't have one.:P Tell me when you remember, hehe.

@ Arquen: ooh, I didn't know Splinttner was actually involved in the DA2 team. That's very cool!
His comment about the Fenris smirk did suggest something like that
I wish he had more Fenris pics on his deviant art then, but I only found these two.

I don't play ME either, so I'm not distracted by the upcoming release of #3. I suck at shooters (still haven't been able to finish Deus Es: Human Revolutions because I just can't beat Namir...), so yeah... haha.

I look past the shooter elements and focus more on rpg aspect that is I can freeze/fireball my attackers or go invisible and ninja stab em.
Then again thats just me so I just play a game. But I do love Mass effect for incoporating my insane love for sniper rifles in an rpg form. The long barrel, the wieght of the gun, the pressure to pull the handle, the sound of the bullet whizzing by for a headshot....someone write up fenris as sniper and teaching hawke, I will pay them in...in...the woes of being uncreative.:crying:

Funny you should mention that - my canon!Shepard is an infiltrator ;) You do not want to run into both her and Garrus on overwatch - let's put it that way. *evil* :) (Or put both of them over that killbox bridge in his RM...)

*cough* Fenris and DA *cough*

Speaking as one of those who got distracted by ME...I am guessing this is temporary.  I love Mass Effect, but I'm a fantasy fan first. I'm working on Asunder right now to scratch my Dragon Age itch, but I haven't finished it yet (LALALALA NO SPOILERS PLEASE! :) LALALALALA). I suspect, as Arquen did, my head!canon post Act III may get some revision. We'll see. IIRC Gwenya is your main and a mage, correct? Aniya, not being a mage, may follow another path, but I can't see her being RAWR ALL MAGES MUST DIE - because she never was. She just got really, really tired of just about every mage she met from the Deep Roads on being a blood mage (she calls it the Kirkwall Mage Hello) or batsh!t insane. Anders' degeneration into a wannabe martyr didn't help, and *removed head!canon that I haven't resolved yet. I'll have to rethink that. ;) *

I'm still hoping that Bioware will tease something about Dragon Age with the ME3 launch, like a trailer or something. I'll be a bit cranky if it's DAIII and not a continuation/closure chapter for Hawke/Kirkwall, but if that's what happens  I'll learn to cope, much as I did from DA:O to DAII.  (Heck, I even learned to *like* Hawke a bit and quit resenting her for not being my Warden. ;) )

As an art student myself I had to laugh at that....almost choked on my pinaepple chunks. Plus I dont think most women would complain if Fenris was pinching their ass. *looks at Cosmo, Arquen and moto cause those are the only names I can remember)

I most certainly WOULD mind!  I don't care how cute a guy is; he pinches my ass, he gets my fist in his face!!!

But also, I don't really find Fenris attractive LIKE THAT -- I mean, he is very cute, and my M!Hawke is totes in love with him, but he's definitely not the boy for me xD

I have to admit I agree with moto, no matter how good looking he was I would NOT be happy with a guy doing that to me... yes, even if it was Fenris.
