I would say one of Lifehouse's songs. Hanging by a Moment, Unkown, Somebody Else's Song... Is it supposed to be comical or a more serious song that fits Fenris' character?

Almost top, so a Fenris:

I think whatever would make him look most natural. Whatever is most Fenrisy...lolol does that make sense? That's why I am asking for suggestions because I'm not sure.

I think if I went the funny video route, I would need to create some custom animations and that takes an insane amount of time. Getting him this far has been painful. Flex animation next. I really am obsessed. LOL

It's already weird seeing him in a different engine/game. I had a gun in his hands the other night or was it a rocket launcher I can't remember. I should take a screenshot of that. Sooo goofy.

What would be a sexy song? Anything come to mind?

Hmmmmm I cant think of any sexy songs unless they would fit a female hawke....actually come to think of it I cant think of any sexy songs that would fit a guy...unless! We go by that lapdance scene from Deathproof. "Honky tonk down in mexico" by the coasters.

Well, the Lifehouse songs I mentioned are very Fenrisy. Also Something in Between (slow, beautiful ballad) or Quasimodo (upbeat) are great for him. Am I Ever Gonna Find Out is not very long, so might be a bit easier to make a video for that. Lol, all Lifehouse, sorry. For more Fenrisy songs you could check Arquen's playlist. There's a link in her signature.

For a sexy song... dunno... hehe, today I was thinking about Buttons by The ****cat Dolls and that it could be funny with a female Hawke and Fenris, haha.

Fenris could totally pull off an I'm Too Sexy For My Shirt though! Rofl, that would be hilarious.

Unfortunately, no. 18 hours and no posts? Yikes.

That sucks in a way. My two favorite threads are either getting spoilery or quiet. *goes into withdrawal and gibbers in the corner*

Have a Fenris while I gibber...(From our own Arquen - still one of my favorites as she captures his expressions so well...)

the above is lovely!

act 2 - (ahh.. drinking A'grigio (?sp? wine) with the most handsome elf...)
Fenris is talking about when he was with the Fog Warriors and he speaks about how he was left behind because there was no room on the ship - (this is the first time I'm playing aggressive) -
Hawke says "You escaped only by chance?" (option - so it wasn't your choice?)
He replies "That time, yes" which implies he had escaped before?

Agregio. :P

And no, he refers to his later escape. After he has killed the Fog Warriors, he flees and thus escapes from Danarius.

Bleh, I have been out of the thread far too long. Been lurking around when I have the chance. I do not touch the sexuality argument with a 10-ft-pole. I appreciate Harle coming in here, and actually I agreed with a lot she said. Which is kind of rare, LOL.

I don't have much to add, and I was the one who agreed (with Tealsie who created the word along with Fenspression) that Fenris is HAWKE-sexual.

I will quote myself from page 1806.

Honestly, I don't see Fenris as gay or straight or bi or tri or anything actually. I see him as a Hawke-sexuality orientation. Whoever Hawke is -- that is who he chooses to be with. Whether male or female -- he is drawn to Hawke, and I see him as the kind of person (as said before) who chooses a partner based on who they are and not what gender they are. My personal preference is Fem!Hawke as I said because of the dynamic between the two, but I dislike how people try to put the characters into categories.

As I said I dislike that now people will jump on the "DG wrote him with male Hawke in mind so that means he is gay!" bandwagon as much as I dislike the "He doesn't act gay and is obviously straight so he belongs with female Hawke!" bandwagon.

basically all I have to say about that...

As for the escape dialogue, yeah he is referring to his future true escape. He happened to be freed "by chance" at first because he was left behind. My favorite thing to ponder is

Hawke: You should have killed him right there.

Fenris: I wasn't running from HIM. Not that time.

I love contemplating that. Fenris wasn't running from Danarius when he escaped. In my head he was just running.. blindly.. the only thing he knew is that he couldn't go back. The fog warriors gave him that, and yet still he betrayed them. I think he couldn't face that, he just knew that he couldn't do it again. It is almost like he was running from himself. There is something so liberating in that imagery.

I always interpreted that as that he was running from himself, from what he had done. I don't know what else to make of it.

So I'm now in Act 3 of my not romancing Fenris playthrough. Got the 'Alone' quest, and now I'm bummed out because I won't get to see the adorable puppy eyes.

Fortunately I have another Hawke playthrough with saves before major Fenris events so I can replay those ^_^

Sorry, I'm trying to figure out if you're saying that Fenris is perfect with female Hawke because a male Hawke would consider him too whiny - which is really putting male Hawke down, implying he can't be as understanding and caring of Fenris' very real issues as female Hawke - or whether you're trying to say that Fenris would be perfect as a woman, but as a man is too whiny, thus implying that women are by nature whiny and thus it's only to be expected.

Since you call yourself ladyofpayne, I'm hoping you didn't just  insult yourself as woman, but then . . . it could simply be projection of faults.

Now how about you toddle on back to the threads you usually troll?

Oh Harle don't even bother. LadyofPayne makes little to no sense if any at all. It's just random conjumble of words being thrown together in attempts to communicate. Carry on.. nothing to see here.

However, funny that you should bring up the dynamic between male and female Hawke and Fenris. I've actually always preferred the fem!Hawke romance myself. Not because of "whiny" obviously, but because I tend to see male Hawke as a bit more dominating of Fenris than female Hawke. Not really because he is a man, but because of certain tones and ways they communicate. I tend to see the fem!Hawke/ Fenris relationship as more on an equal scale. Where there seems to be a lot more give/take dynamic. It just fits better for me, and It's hard to put in words why, but I see it as less imposing I suppose.

I have nothing against the M!Hawke/Fenris relationship at all. It simply is not my personal preference, and I've been struggling to understand why that is. Why I view them differently, and it pretty much boils down to simple interactions. I prefer the way I feel Fem!Hawke and Fenris interact.

Haha, I know. But I couldn't resist the chance to point out how precisely much nonsense her words are. ;)

I love both romances; I ever so slightly prefer male Hawke and Fenris, but that's mostly because I like the physical aspect better: I enjoy the aesthetics of partnerships that have a slighter partner and a broader partner, and there's more of a difference in physical size between male Hawke and Fenris than female Hawke and Fenris, who are about the same height and breadth (though very different builds XD). Both male and female are fantastic with Fenris, but there's just that very slight bias for me.

Personally, I never got the impression that male Hawke is more dominating, but that could very well be because I tend to enjoy a more diplomatic male Hawke (with some rather sarcastic moments) and a more aggressive female Hawke (with a good deal of humour), so in comparison, of course female Hawke would seem more 'dominating' than male Hawke, with the different personalities I choose for them. XD

Though in either case, I don't really feel that either of them is 'dominating' towards Fenris! If I did, I probably wouldn't enjoy the relationship quite so much, since Fenris has had quite enough of being dominated over his lifetime, I'm sure.

ah yes... he does tend to do that when things get to be 'too much'... like act 2 after finally getting together with Hawke. Hawke watches him slump away and cries in her head 'on Fenris, please come back, let me hold you, at least for a little while... everyhing will be okay, you don't have to run anymore'

(can you tell I got to that part last night on my current PT?)

I don't see (male or female) Hawke as being dominating over Fenris either. My Hawke is always very sweet and occasionally teasing with him. I also, in my mind, see Fenris as older than Hawke, so that adds to the intriguing dynamic.

You're right; it all boils down to personal preference!! It all boils down to how YOU see Fenris and what sort of relationship you want him to have. Bless you, RPG romance. Bless you.

I always thought the same thing.  He was just running because it was all he knew how to do, and how to cope.

And April - I'm at the same spot in my PT - breaks my heart (oops, I mean Hawke's heartPosted Image) every time!

Having read a variety of fanfics over the past few days, I have a few questions for my fellow fen lovers.

Obviously, we all love when Hawke is in a romance with Fenris. But what if Hawke is unavailible, so to speak? Is there another character in the DA universe that you could see in a romance with Fenris? Would the romance play out similar to how it'd be in game (him leaving after their first time together)?

Isabela.  And, hmm.  I do ship Fenris and Sebastian as well, but that's more of a pipe dream, since Sebastian has his vows.  A girl can wish, though!

But yes, I do think Fenris and Isabela are quite well-suited, in absence of Hawke: Isabela's independence and freedom are things that Fenris wants and craves.  I don't think it would play out the same as with Hawke, because, as in canon when Fenris and Isabela get together in Act III when Hawke is unavailable, it would likely start as something simply done by two friends who are sharing some mutual pleasure.  Whether it's the extra three years, or the lack of such emotional intensity as with Fenris' first time with Hawke, obviously, Fenris doesn't run off!

But, while I don't think their relationship starts as more than some fun, I can easily see it growing into something more intense over time, and I think the gradual build would make things easier on Fenris.  The difference between jumping into a very hot bath and easing in - one gets it over faster, but the other allows you time to adjust and is less of a shock.

Perhaps they might never couch it in terms of 'love', and they might never be exclusive, but I could see them remaining partners for a very long time, supporting each other and being there for each other.  Both of them know what it is to lose their freedom; both of them know the struggle to regain it.
