Few people want to talk about that. Like, Hawke was feeling it- but Fenris wasn't? I don't think Fenris likes physical contact and isn't really interested in sex.
I think Fenris is feeling it, he's just nervous -- for all the reasons he mentions. He wants to try, but he's not sure he's ready quite yet. Aaaaannd it turned out he was right about that, no?

Sister!
I clicked through to your stories -- I love the first one in your Little Things collection, about the scars. Beautiful.
kemz19691 - do let us know when you post your story! I love more political themed tales (and not just in my fanfic).

He may even be giving Hawke a chance to change his/her mind, because his issues with self-worth tell him Hawke would be happier with someone more 'deserving' - someone who wasn't a slave, wasn't a living weapon, wasn't physically, sexually, mentally, and emotionally abused, isn't all the little things that gnaw at his confidence.
This is a good point too.
I agree with aldien too that control is important for Fenris --
But I do believe that Fenris wants to make the first move as far as having sex goes. He wants control of this decision, which I udnerstand considering his circumstances. I honestly believe at this point that he doesn't want to rush it and then take the risk of regretting it.
I think he's testing to see if action would be welcome, but he wants to start it on his own. Of course, once he starts it, Hawke kind of takes over... but again, maybe that's part of the reason it ends up being too much for him?
I'll admit I'm just as glad you decided to skip the "groin on fire" pictograph, though.
