Hmm, I am 5'7, so Fen and I are probably about the same height. He could quite easily wall-slam me because I'm a total WIMP lol
Pretty much the only person I might have a chance against would be ... well, I won't even say Merrill, because she's younger and more flexible than me.
Damn it I need to take a trip to the gym.

Cant be worse then my position..about 5'4ish, 214lbs with a flabby mea west figure...chances are Fenris would use my own weight and gravity against me....since gravity always wins versus my rotund ass. I think endurance and will would have been key characteristics for surviving the marking ritual. I think I may have picked up the idea from fic rather than the game that the ritual was tried on others that didn't survive, but I would say it seems likely, given that Fenris seems to be unique. With dedicated training anyone can become a good fighter. IMO whatever the contest Danarius held would have focused on endurance and determination to survive. From what Fenris said about the ritual those traits seem key.

I confess, as I'm writing I do tend to give Fenris rogue-like traits (ability to move silently, excellent hearing, etc.). I am chalking that up to a combination of his being an elf and with his special lyrium-aided abilities, though.I've always seen elves as naturally inspired to the archery/mage/assassin/rogue classes becuase of their lithe build, not the warrior class. I just don't see Fenris as a warrior without the lyrium. His build is not robust enough for a warrior.
(...) Also, a warrior needs to have great strenght to wrestle oponents. I think a f!Hawke could easily pin Fenris down - did you see her throw him up against the wall? And Fenris looks all but like a small boy in contrast to a m!Hawke (who Varric says is slightly taller, so Hawke would do the sweeping).
But I disagree with the second part -- just because Fenris is small doesn't mean he isn't strong. He has disadvantages in the leverage department, certainly. But it's not like he seems to have any trouble weilding that enormous sword.
Hawke wall-slams him, true, but I think a lot of that is the element of surprise and because he trusts her and isn't expecting violence from her. I'm 5'3" and I can bowl over my broad-shouldered 6'2" fiance if I take him by surprise (and from the right angle).
aldien - you make me giggle. No, no reviews yet from My Little Pony fans or even non-DA people. But I only have the one little snippet, and it has a meek T rating.
Ghost_Nappa -- Hahahaha, the derp tattoos! That's hilarious.
renjility - I agree that Fenris doesn't seem like the shield type. Hiding behind a big metal thing? He's not so much about that. He's all attack, not defense. Dual wielding, though, I could see.
Honestly, though, I don't mind the broadsword.

Fenris' pores never bothered me, he looks rugged, so handsome and I love his hair, he is so cute in battle, hair flying back as he leaps and twists, then standing over the dead darkspawn or raiders, sticks his lip out and blows the bangs out of his face with a *puff*
This page needs FENART!

Yes, you're probably perfectly fine for a human. Elves are very small built. I assume they would make a weaker melee fighter? But you know what they say when you assume...

Let's just say I would probably be like Dulsi de Launcet and faint at the first sight of battle
Yeah I bet lots of people assume Fenris is weaker than they are based on how he looks, but whoa to them...!!
Isn't it implied that a GREAT DEAL of Fenris' abilities, including his strength, comes from the lyrium and Danarius' ritual?

You are too hard on yourselves people. This is exactly why I do not like women in games with perfect figures. It sends out the wrong message. However, it is one reason I absolutely love Fenris. I honestly believe he would love a person for who they are and not how they look. I think he is beyond superficiality. Actually, I suspect to a degree, that he is against it. He has no doubt been singled out because of his looks one too many times and it didn't end well.
Fenris would make an EXCELLENT Viscount BTW.

Question 2: Do you think the lyrium in and on Fenris' palms/hands make his touch "special"? Please don't ask 'in
what way special?' I don't want to be banned from this thread.
Some women/men are into lithe-builds. I must say, I wasn't but because Fenris is beautiful, so perfectly proportioned (his head is not too big for his body, his muscles aren't bulging out all over the place like an air-pumped puppet) and he has a real personality.
I've dated men with a personality the Planck size of Fenris' (sad to say) [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/blushing.png[/smilie]

I'm... uh... a Tolkien Silmarillion geek. Not LOTR geek. Totally different. Wrote Silmarillion fanfiction before DA fancition. The Elves were the firstborn, meaning they came before humans. They were stronger than men in the beginning. But, by the second age of Arda, the humans became stronger. Elves fade with time. Elves returned to Valinor, which is only for elves *ahem* a place similar to Arlathan. Some elves were enslaved by Morgoth (bad magical god person) hmmm sounding more familiar? Elves were turned to Orcs, who invaded human lands. Orcs look alot like Darkspawn or maybe we should reverse that. Look, Tolkien set the standard. It's okay. Drawing from genius is always a good thing.kemz19691 wrote...

I assume humans are physically stronger (on average) than elves. I should really look to Tolkien on this one...
According to the DA wiki, Fenris would be weaker than the first of the elves. Plus, he is a city elf which shortens his life, unlike the Dalish, who deliberately try to stay away from humans. Dalish tend to live longer. As far as strength goes, he gets it from the lyrium. Provides the power Danarius needed of his pet. Remember?

Hmm I have to say I never really thought about his thighs. Not the part of a man I tend to notice. For me, I like a strong back and broad shoulders ... hence why I melt into a puddle of drool when we get to see Hawke's bare back in the Fenris post-coital scene.
Well as I've said before, I'm not at all attracted to Fenris, but I do think he's a cutie and get why loads of gals dig him. He's very pretty, and he's a total sweetheart (I mean, aside from the murderous rampages he goes into when he spots blood mages). And he's supa fit.
But yeah I like guys with a pretty masculine build (but with a sweet baby face...)

Hmmmm baby face no...muscle type? Not too lanky...then again Im gonna have to be into various body types since homeowrk is against me. But in all honest I cant say as long as the guy doesnt look like I could snap him in half by sitting down, Im good.
That Im not that attracted to fenris physically...well I lie I just like when he makes the most expressive "really?" faces. I dont know why I just love his wittle facial expressions.

I actually tend to say the lyrium doesn't make Fenris extra strong. I think his strength is his own, as is his ability to wield a greatsword. The ritual gave him extra abilities, like his magical fisting thing, and protects him from magical attacks, ao.
