Trying and failing at this modding business, guys Let's hope someone can help me in the xbox modding thread. I probably look like a complete and total r-word though.

EDIT: This sucks  An hour into this and I'm totally lost.  The directions were obviously written for very experienced modders.  I wish someone could help me figure out how to do this.  I downloaded all the programs it said to and tried to follow the directions, but some of the directions left out steps completely, I guess assuming I would already know.

I'm depressed.  I just want to give Fenris a different outfit lol

Hmm and maybe Hawke and Isabela.

EDIT: Sigh.  Okay.  How do you download companion armor from this Dragon Age Nexus thing?  I downloaded one of the coats for Fenris from this link HERE, but apparently all it is is some picture my laptop can't even open.

Any help is appreciated, you guys

Did you extract the file? You need a program like winrar, winzip or izarc for that. And you shouldn't have to open the files you downloaded for it to work. I don't know how it's supposed to work for xbox, but on pc you justh ave to place the files in the right folder and then they work in-game.

LOVE THAT ARMOR!!!  Wish I could put it on him in my game!!!!

I have WINrar so I know how to unzip files.  I am an avid anime and manga reader/watcher so I know the in's and out's of downloading on the web  But this modding and gaming thing is new to me.

I have Sims 3 on my computer, and I know what y'all mean.  It's as easy as downloading the package file and moving it to the mods folder.  Not so with this xbox crap.  You have to use this thing called GFF Editor and you have to know all the id numbers for party members, equipment, etc.  It's wildly complimented, but thanks to you, lady, I might be able to figure it out ))))

EDIT: Just want to say, again, that when I try to download anything from that Nexus place all I can unzip is something called an "ERF" file.  It appears to be a graphic file my computer can't open.

EDIT: Oh, lady, I posted an update in that xbox modding thread.

@moto - I never even bothered trying to mod with my 360. It was always so time consuming and confusing!

Maybe I'll download to PC...EA is having a sale so it's super cheap ($10)

Hmmmm LOL That is tempting.  But I don't want to feel like I wasted my money buying this xbox.  And I don't want to spend even MORE money.  Even just ten bucks.  It just adds up, you know?  Frustrating!

3 magic secrets: 
1. My chapters are really short. 
2. My job hours got cut waaaaay back, so I'm only working half time this month.
3. Most of the story is already drafted (except the very end, which I'm still sorting out). I'm just doing a last edit pass before posting.

True.  And I do love my 360.  I only have DA:O on PC thanks to all Dahlia Lynn's mods.  I couldn't resist.

Back on topic - I'm about to finally play Legacy with all the fixed dialogue this week - can't wait!  Now should I play before ActII, or after?  Or after ActII?

Strongly seconded. I'm pretty sure people said the dialogue that triggers doesn't take into account that Hawke and Fenris are back together. But the new bits are great. Who are you going to take with you, besides Fenris?

Definitely before making up with Fenris. It's sweeter and more appropriate then. Works even better if you do a quest or two without him, just makes Legacy dialog feel perfect that way.

Ok cool - after ActII it is.

I'm not sure who else I'll take besides Fenris - I think I've done it twice, and I don't think I've ever taken Aveline or Anders? Ugh, not sure....

If you don't take Anders or your sibling, you will get a bit of extra conversation with Fenris about your father.

Aveline has some fantastic banter with Fenris, if that helps your decision!

I would do Fen, Varric, Sebastian. Good team, Varric has some uninque dialog and insight and a good funny banter with Sebastian. Ranged is useful in the final battle as you can put them on hold at one pillar and they can fire across the room, fewer to have to move between blasts as on the steps they take minimal damage except when Cory lands all but atop them. Then it's just you and Fen running the gauntlet, and it's a lot easier to keep them all healed until after the last wave when it's time to take him down.
