My favorite romance line is still from MoTA when he thanks Hawke from bringing him along in an endearingly awkward manner. Varric was in my party then and he said "Smooth.."
Are you sure that's not from Legacy? I played it yesterday

I haven't brought him along pre Act 3 reconciliation yet. Need to do it. He also has the sweet moment in MotA as well, when he says he was worried about you when you were locked in the dungeon and then says not to scare him like that again. SO SWEET.

I wouldn't bother because the dialogue is STILL BUGGED so that it doesn't acknowledge the reconciliation.

@coldi Venhedis! Fasta Vass!! You have caught me talking about other men. What can I say? I love green men. Wait, Fenris isn't green...but he is bluish (especially when he's mad and pins me against the wall) But he does have green beautiful eyes.
Hey, chicky....Blue glowing elves are groovy, in my book.
On another note, still hoping to figure out the trigger in MotA for the Qun questioning by Fenris, with Talis. Will persevere when I get a chance.
Wish reconciled Hawke/Fenris (Act 3) dialogue would trigger in Legacy. Does anyone have a link to that banter?

Nice find Kavatica. I was lead to believe that there was to be dialogue specific to a reconciled Hawke and Fenris, after Danarius in Act 3. Hmmmm, maybe there never was.
That is possible. Thanks anyway....I have enjoyed finally getting that banter with Fenris in Legacy. Love the patch for that and Sunder alone.
If there is, I haven't found any video evidence of it yet. Unless the second part of that video is meant to be right after reconciliation and they just haven't talked about what went down yet? Hard to tell. I agree - the extra banter is nice, especially since it is so limited during the game.

No, but he says something if you bring him along after Act 2 but before reconciliation. That's what I meant.
Doh
I think of all the companion's responses to Fenris' awkward banter, I prefer Anders' smug laughter LOL I don't know; it made me chuckle for some reason.

Ha ha - probably because you can tell with that laugh he is thinking "Yes yes Fenris, screw it all up and leave Hawke for me mwahahahaha"

My second question that I've always wanted to ask:
Do you think Fenris asked Hawke for forgiveness because he was afraid he would end up alone?
As a friend of mine used to say: "OoooOOOOooooh."
IMO it's totally possible. I don't even thing it's a bad thing, necessarily. Part of his growth arc is going from someone who doesn't trust people or want them close to him, to someone who has made friends and developed trust (even if you don't romance him -- I'm thinking of the fact that he invites Donnic over for games and stuff). Acknowledging that he wants Hawke to stay and trying to figure out what he needs to do to make that happen is growth, even if his motivations are somewhat selfish.
Re: the Varania question -- I know I'm late to this but here are my $.02 anyway. I totally started out letting him kill her, because it was HIS decision as a free elf and I didn't want Hawke to get in the way of that. But I've changed my mind over time. If you have a friend that you care about who you KNOW is making a bad decision, it's your job as a friend to say something. It's not the same thing as, say, ordering Anders/Justice to step down when he's about to kill that mage girl. The motivations are similar but the way it's done is different. I think the balance of power between Hawke and Fenris is a delicate thing, but I think he'd be happier in the long run (after his temper has passed) knowing he hadn't killed his sister.
OTOH, my first playthrough was with Fenris as a rival sans romance, and that's when I didn't stop him. I think that was probably the right call for that scenario, and probably how I'd play it if I ever played that way again.

Thanks everyone for your insights!
I really loved your answer. Everyone made excellent points but this one stuck with me. If anyone deserves to be a bit selfish I'd say it is Fenris and I would hope Hawke could see both sides of the equation. Part of it may be fear of lonliness initially and part of it genuine love.
But, I feel that whatever his motivation was during the make up scene, by the end of the game his relationship has grown past selfish interest. I say that because Fenris will stand with Hawke no matter the decision. It takes love and understanding to sacrifice your own desires for someone else. I guess that was the thing I respected most about Fenris. He put his ideals aside for love. As corny as it is, I guess he meant it when he said: nothing could be worse than the thought of living without you, otherwise he would have sided with the templars, if Hawke sided with the mages.
Hope that makes sense.

Do any of you think that there could be any chance or possible way for Fenris to come out in DA3? I mean as a companion, not just a cameo.
That would be DA3 dream come true for me
Same here! I suggested they kill Hawke so he can be romanced all over again

Let's see...
Are we supposed to assume that Fenris takes off his armor occasionally? I mean, is the guy taking a bath? He seems to suggest that he won't wear anything else because his markings show through, and I had to wonder if, without his special armor, that meant they could be seen in embarrassing places???
I was trying to rectify this with the time period, albeit fantasy, that Hawke and company is supposed to be living in. Could you really clean leather after a blood bath or did they just throw in a sprig of lavender and call it done?
I wonder if Hawke bathed him before their "special" moment... hmmmm ponders naked Fenris in bathtub.
