Does he remind anyone else of Fen'Harel, the Trickster wolf?

Indeed. In fact attempting to stop a squee only makes it come out much MUCH louder. I'm afraid poor Luke will have to make due for awhile while the fans get their shouts of jubiliation out of their system.PoisonTheCity wrote...
You can't stop the squee, Chris. Especially not with smirking, glowy elves.

Fenris is a mythical wolf in the nordic mythology. A beast chained until ragnarök. Maybe some connection there?
Very interesting character...
That would be Fenrir

I don't want another Zevran either but I wouldn't mind him being an M/M option (granted of course that a hot human male warrior doesn't show up).
And that Fenris is a warrior and not a rogue.
I agree. I'm hoping his personality is nothing like Zev's. Well, except the sarcasm, I could definately live with that.

Much like tomayto and tomahto, both are acceptable.

# FENRIR: Usually said to be an Anglicized form of Old Norse Fenrisúlfr, but according to Sophus Bugge, author of The Home of The Eddic Poems, this name, as well as Fenris, probably originated with Norsemen under the influence of Christianity, and was a word for "hell" and only later took on the meaning "swamp."
# FENRIS: Usually said to be an Anglicized form of Old Norse Fenrisúlfr, but according to Sophus Bugge, author of The Home of The Eddic Poems, this name, as well as Fenrir, probably originated with Norsemen under the influence of Christianity, and was a word for "hell" and only later took on the meaning "swamp."
# FENRISÚLFR: In mythology, this is the name of a wolf, the son of Loki and the giantess Angrboða, popularly translated "swamp wolf," but probably originally meaning "wolf of hell." According to Sophus Bugge, author of The Home of The Eddic Poems, this name cannot possibly mean "swamp wolf," for there does not exist in Old Norse any derivative endings as -rir, or -ris. He believes Fenrir and Fenris arose under the influence of Christian conceptions of the devil as lupus infernus, combined with tales of the Behemoth and the beast of the Apocalypse, and was altered in form in accordance with popular Old Norse etymology. He compares Old Norse fern from Latin infernus to Old Saxon fern which was derived from Latin infernum, and explains that Fenrir and Fenris must have been formed from *Fernir from fern using the endings -ir and gen. -is, both of which were very much used in mythical names, including names of giants. He goes on to explain that the later connection with fen ("fen, swamp, mire") was natural, for hell and lower regions, such as the abyss, are often connected by imagination just as they still are today.
Maybe Fenris can change into a wolf? A la Spirit of the Forest? Maybe not.

Ah I liked the thread with the pictures better. You can edit it with more information that way.

Why you gotta ruin our squee Chris?
I tried, Ryzaki... But my efforts are ultimately frowned upon. Oh well. If I maintained it, I would have to search out stuff and have to update often, whereas Chris.... doesn't.

It's nothing against Zev, but not the same stereotype of gay elven men again. He is pretty close to Zev already. Zev was also sort of slave if you want so. He was sold to the Crows.

Ah...but Varric, Bethany and Carver have a club, why can we have a club for Fenris? I find this thread too officialWe can't put fanart in the OP and such...too generic.
IKR?
I suggest someone from the first page edit their post to include a link to the original thread, the list of speculations, screenshots, fanart, and whatever Meg-*Fenris* related goodies.

Fenris is how the Nordic countries spell it (currently, not sure about formerly). By it I mean the name of the Fenrir wolf in norse mythology ofc.
