Poor Carver, it could be worse he could have gotten "the talk" from Isabela

Carver:
Fenris, you said that the lyrium burned into your skin wiped away your memories.

Fenris: Yes, and getting them was the most painful thing that you could possibly imagine.

Carver: Do you know were I could get lyrium burned into my skin?

Fenris: (shocked) Why in the Maker's name would you ever want to submit yourself to such torment?

Carver: Because no pain imaginable can be any worse than the image that Isabela BURNED INTO MY MIND!

Varric: Did she tell you the story about that one time with your cousin and the red-headed bard? That's a classic that is.

Carver:  (rocking back and forth in the fetal positon) Cannot unsee...cannot unsee

(The cousin in question is M!Arnell)

LOL.

That was great!

=Edit=

I got top of page 200!

Must find a good piece of FanArt to decorate because I can't draw...

Nope.. He is a character from a fantasy book by a writer called Joe Abercrombie

Comparing Joe's Fenris to this Fenris is like saying Harry Potter is a rip-off of Gandolf.

That said, I wouldn't mind if Joe wrote Fenris as a love interest. The anal fingering scene in Best Served Cold had me in stitches.

...wat. Oh jeeze now I'm going to have to go to the bookstore tomorrow to investigate. Thanks. ;)

Please, please, please don't do the page count thing. It's annoying as an all getout. Just say something about your favorite elf.

Like...

I hope all eye colors are that clear and pretty in CC.

But... but the 200th poster gets to put the precious in their pocketses. :crying:

I agree on the eyes. That was the first thing I noticed in that screenshot. Let's hope we get them in CC, though from the look of FemHawke, it's probable.

just just just realized that you can romance an Isabela who slept with your Warden-family member.

Oh, please, BioWare, let this have a unique dialogue path.

Don't forget the additional 64 (65?) pages from the original Varric thread...

Granted, neither threads have anything on the Alistair thread in the DA:O forum (I read one page, and then started walking...er, running...back out! :)

Great thing about the Fenny and Varric threads is that there are some really funny stuff coming out of these threads

Nonsense. If this means going back to edit the picture, then I have to believe that neither thread mentioned actually existed.

LOL FOREVER
About the eye thing... I remember squishing my nose up against my TV screen to see what color my Warden's irises were like it was yesterday. Oh wait.
So I do hope they're more vibrant, though from what I've seen so far they look nice! I really like Hawkette's sapphire eyes...

Abercromie's books are dark fantasy. They're rather perverse and the characters have a host of mental issues. They're not meant to be 'realistic' but an extreme noir like Sin City.

Joe Ambercrombie inspired romance:

Fenris

Lady Hawke has met the handsome and charming, but withdrawn, Fenris, an elven warrior and ex-Tevinter slave. As they fight, they develop a deep bond, but due to the experiments performed on him, Fenris has periods where he blacks out. They love one another but cannot touch *at all* because the lyrium in Fenris' skin drains the life of anyone he comes in contact with.

One night, he rushes to Lady Hawke's house, his hands covered with blood, but he can't remember what happened. They soon learn that an elven family was brutally murdered the previous night. Their investigation shows that there has been a string of murders in the alienage for years now, which the Templars had decided must be the work of blood mages.

Fenris is desperate to know the truth, so Lady Hawke performs a ritual to force him to remember the periods where he's blacked out. He is the killer, and the sudden knowledge causes him to snap. His mind is taken over by the malevolent, murderous side he's always hidden from himself.

Fenris flees into the alienage and begins burning down houses. Lady Hawke and companions finally corner him in a half-buried Tevinter ruin where Fenris has constructed a giant flesh golem out of the parts of the elves he's killed. He believes when it's 'perfect,' he'll be able to wear the flesh golem as a suit and he'll have a new, immortal body.

He dons the suit and through some horrid alchemy, it comes to life around him.

Upon seeing the piles of bones and the mutilated remains of innocent people Fenris slowly tortured to death, Lady Hawke understands that the man she loved is dead – if he ever really existed. She cuts the golem down and then kills Fenris. In his last moments, he thanks her and they touch for the first and last time.

What can I say?  Im trying to engage in the typical "elf-dwarf" friendly rivalry (the comic of which I just can't find at the moment)

Edited to add:  At least we're not like the Isabela thread!!! :)

I'm not sure there's an emoticon on this site capable of displaying the horror (I admit, tinged with amusement) I had while reading this. That . . . is some messed up **** right there. Wow.

Couldn't he just be evil again? You know, normal evil? Maybe cackle maniacally, betray me, tie me to some railroad tracks? Without all the corpses and pyromania? His blood-lust and insanity is killing my desire to rivalry romance him. ;)

Already dealt with Bishop.

I don't need to also feel the need to poke the PS3 controllers with a stick like I did with the computer when I was playing NWN2. Except we lacked the romance part in NWN2.

Didn't the Isabela thread (whichever thread you're talking about) devolve into arguments over Bela's dress/costume, booty, etc. which caused several to be locked down?  I haven't seen much of that here or in the other thread...

I don't know the baseball reference, but I know which comic you speak of. (How could I not? It's Aimo!) And I wasn't trying to get friction going with the Varric thread by that comment - was merely posting a Zing. ^_^ As a closet Varric fan (hell, I'm a closet everyone-in-DA2 fan to some extent) I'd prefer we all get along and think up funny dialogue between the two and share derpicorn/chest hair grooming tips.

I've never frequented any of the Isabela threads, but I don't think whatever may have went on in any of them take anything away from Isabela's character. I try to remember this when I come across particularly ardent Talimancers, too. :D

Wait... her booty, or her booty?

@Maria: That makes for a somewhat creepily poignant read for most people on this thread. Poor Fenny. :(
