Oh, I really enjoyed watching the video where they applied the makeup! I love cosplay, I wish I could do it. XD

Now that I'm really into my DA2 game I'm getting curious for more DA3 information. But I can't see to find a site that provides official information about anything. Are they still keeping everything very hush-hush, or can anyone point me to a site that has updates on DA3 information?

@Trista - Thanks for the input. Yeah, I have heard the banter on all of those......Sometimes when you only take Fen with you on missions, he has a bit more to say.....In some cases it is simply because he gets over-ridden by other companions, but sometimes, I believe they set up a bit of extra dialogue (and not just for him, but all the companions) if you are only taking them along on some quests.
 
Don't know for a fact, but like today, I got a tiny bit of banter out of Fenris when I took him to do "of Captains and Champions" (first time you visit Aveline in Act 3). When you ask her about her honeymoon, and she refuses to reveal anything specific about it, Fenris says something like, "Good for you." Never got to have him say that before in all 10 play throughs. Just trying to see if I can get anything new outta the ole' boy! HA!

heehee.......actually, that is the scene at the start of "Justice" when Anders asks if Hawke is "sure" about Fenris.  I always choose, "You just don't know him", and well, Fen has a bit of snarky to throw back at Anders


@Trista - Can't I just ask Mr. Emery to live in my bedroom and lull me to sleep every night reading.....well anything would do......my husband won't mind.  He wears ear plugs anyway. HA!

Wow, lots of activity here suddenly, and that during a weekend.

Okami, Dragon Age 3 has not been officially announced yet. They've only dropped a few teasers and plans, but everytime they add they can't promise anything. During PAX, Laidlaw said they wanted to go "somewhere French", which would obviously mean Orlais. They also said they will stop re-using environments, and introduced their idea for armor on companions. About the latter you can find a thread in the third DA2 forum (I think), with a link to David Gaider explaining the idea.

How did you get inside my head? Seriously, I've had that idea for some time now. I'm definitely going to do that eventually in my fic, but (unfortunately) I'm not there yet. Fenris and Hawke have to get back together first. xD I'm still debating how exactly I will do it, though. I had the idea that with the markings becoming unstable, Fenris' connection to the Fade might get stronger, leading to him hearing demons whisper, and getting more and more trapped in the Fade when sleeping, a bit like Feynriel, that it gets harder to wake him. Not sure how to let it end. I'm less optimistic about the chance of a happy ending. Mage Hawke will do everything to try to save Fenris, but I doubt he, Merrill or Anders would hold the solution. None of them would know anything about the kind of experiments Danarius has conducted. The fact that Fenris might be the only one of his "kind" says that not even other Tevinter magisters know how to infuse lyrium in a living being without killing the subject... Soooo that doesn't seem too hopeful, actually.

Well, I have plenty of time to brood on this before the time has come to write, although I can hardly wait. It's going to be so dramatic! Oh dear, I really am evil. xD

In Lyrium 101 today, we learned that you must have lots of sex with lyrium branded elves in order to maintain their markings.

I was thinking about the fact that Fenris has been away from Danarius for something like 9 years. So... are we supposed to assume he didn't need maintaining in all of that time? Kind of a plothole imo.

I think it is possible Fenris has maintained his markings without even knowing it through increased mastery of his lyrium talent. By the end of the game he seems to understand and how to make use of it. It's just that 9 to 10 year gap makes it hard for me to believe he wouldn't need any maintainance during that time.

Sorry, I blame my evil brain! It keeps coming up with nothing but misery and sad endings!  Don't know why. xD

And perhaps the maintaining of the markings is somehow connected to Danarius being alive. We don't know much about the ritual. But I imagine the maintenance is not so much of an active process, but perhaps the ritual included Danarius connecting his powers to the maintenance of the markings or something like that. It's anyone's guess.

And actually it's a disturbing thought that sex is required to maintain the markings... that would Danarius did that too!

Gahh, am I the only one who finds it annoying the site keeps randomizing the emoticons at the bottom of the post form. I keep searching for the one I want because it's on a different spot every time.

Okay, how about Fenris has to have sex with someone he loves in order to maintain his markings. I'm just being silly. Didn't give much thought to the Danarius half of that equation.

Interestingly, during the game Fenris says: "Warriors such as me are rare" I always took that to mean there were others, albeit, a small number. Even though Fenris was the first of his kind it doesn't mean he was necessarily the only. If more than one mage is able to create those markings then there is hope someone knows how to maintain them that is not Danarius.

I went with a book and staff and Danarius's notes in my story to explain how his markings were created and how to maintain them. At the moment, Hawke and company is trying to locate the items, but I made it extremely complicated, because I am evil

I've been fascinated with the markings since I stumbled across Fenris.
