Again I am late....aldy I owe you pictures since reviews are coming up so lets make these rounds count.

As for femhawke Im up for the idea I like to drag king, tomboy and action pinrcess it up for her because well...I like to dress other women in dresses but not me. Plus since IM more into hetero couples I like to mix it up with how to present the female half as something that fits the mood mostly as an elegent The Boss or Agrias Oaks, from Metal gear solid 3 and Final Fantasy tactics respectively, and not like Isabela.

Yes Im harping on her again, but I am conflicted about the character in very much positive and negative ways....but the one that screams the most is her tata's hanging out and lack of pants.
Pants have pockets, that have knives or bombs to hurl at enemies, which you steal off their corpses and put into your pockets! *sigh*

Yeah my mind is wandering again so yea on pretty my hawke's clothes up...only if I can hide a kukri in there and make her wear wedge 2 inch heels that can support her body weight in a marathon chase.
Hmmm this might explain why I like to RP as ranger Orc females....

Hehe, see I love dressing myself up. I'm a tomboy at heart, but I clean up well.

On a different note, I've contemplated posting up this pic again and again. I think I will now. It's a sadder picture, though, so everyone promise not to eat me. I really like the style, and I felt this captured Fenris' lament of how he broke it off with Hawke, out of cowardice toward his feelings, but deep down really yearned for him/her in the end.

In a sense, it's a really beautiful picture, even though it is also sad.

@ Trista: a beautiful drawing indeed. Who is the artist? :)

@ Ghost: I think Isabela stores the loot between her breasts. Plenty of storage room there. ;)

Here ya go

http://silaya.devian...enris-203739955

Other commentary says it looks like him being tortured by Hadriana or Danarius. Like being starved to death. And the ribbon symbolizes Hawke, of course. Though I look at it differently. I think it's his personal lament against the way he handled Hawke.

Oh and the artist says: "As for me, when I drew this I had in mind sort of rebirth for Fenris from being slave into something else. That's why he is in kind of embryo pose, and Hawk's ribbon is like umbilical cord"

Heh. I think she meant "fetal" pose, not embryo pose. lol.

You do owe me pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, Trista. I didn't mean to give anything away with Bethany. :/ I never finished DAO so I've never had the warden conversations come up in my game.

It is a lovely picture. I found it heartbreaking and the first thing I thought when I saw it was his breakup with Hawke.

So many types of pictures get posted up here so no one has the right to eat anyone. Well... unless it's me. But I only nibble.

Don't worry. I've got something perverse to post soon :D They will have a go at me. They always do.

LOL oh god her house robe was awful. It looked like she borrowed it from Hugh Hefner.

OMG I never noticed that, but it's so true

I am fine with her getting girly armor options, but I want those same options for M!Hawke :P I think DA2 is leaps and bounds ahead of most video games PERIOD when it comes to its presentation of women, Isabela notwithstanding. Don't wanna see them backsliding by creating gender specific clothing options.

I have a question. At the end of the game, if you have romanced Fenris Varric says everyone leaves the champion's side except Fenris. I was wondering about Bethany, if you sided with the mages and she is freed from the Circle don't you think she would have gone with Hawke and Fenris too? Carver I can see going his own way, but if you have a friendship with Bethany, Hawke and her seem so close.

One of my Hawke's was not close to his sister, so it depends on how you play the game.

But yeah I think you have to head canon that on your own because they just provided one geneirc voice over at the end of the game there; the only thing that changes is the love interest's name.

God, seriously.  I always take Issy out of her ridiculous medieval swimsuit outfit as soon as possible and put her in something decent, something that screams bad ass rogue and pirate queen to boot.  She's so much easier to love as a character once you get her out of that ridiuclous outfit!

Okay I need to stop leaving replies that don't even mention Fenris in them :pinched:

Look! I said his name; that counts! :o

Fair enough Moto. I would hate Bioware to go to either extreme with Hawke's clothing and not meet in the middle ground.Bioware went to one extreme with F Hawke's clothing and I just wish for more options.

Does anyone actually care if we always mention Fenris in every single reply? I don't.

Okay on to being my usual perverted self.

So I found this piccie:

I thought ohhhhhhh what a pretty picture with all the blue and white swirlies. Then... well... my mind went Isabela. *sighs* I am way too juvenile for my own good.

Staarbux: "Yep, thats it. No more romancing Fenris playthroughs. Isabela this time. Never done a romance with her. That's the way to go."

Fenris: And now he wishes his precious investment returned. Even if he must rip it from my corpse.
Hawke: Seems like a waste of a perfectly handsome elf....

Lol.:P Although that flirt there in act 1 doesn't actually do anything. Except for making Fenris chuckle of course. I friendmanced Isabela once. I do like her, so I would recommend doing her romance once... but I know how hard it is to tear away from Fenris, haha.

I know, right? She raided Hef's closet.

Anyway, yeah I wouldn't care if the men had various clothing options. In the last two Fable games, men could dress however they wanted. They could wear princess clothes or body armour.

I'm glad they made Isabela hot, though. The male/lesbian players want to see some eye candy too. Truthfully, if I were to cosplay any of the companions, I would have to pick Isabela. Admittably, I do not have her gigantic breasts, but I have the hair/face/butt/figure pretty much. (Heh... facebutt? I have a facebutt. Shut up.)

I know she's tanned (or something) in DA2, but I could get away with my pale skin since in Origins she's just a regular ol' white girl. But yeah, they clearly made Isabela look like "some kind of Spanish" (family guy reference) and I am actually Sicilian, so... close enough! haha

Isabela's ... how to put this ... ethnic origins? is hard to pin down. I would say she is Mediterranean, specifically northern African. But, er, she's not actually from anywhere on earth; she's Rivaini, so that's what I mean by "hard to pin down."

I would probably not dress up as Isabela because I have a feeling she means a lot to players of color; but then I also wouldn't dress up as a black or brown anime character like Yoruichi from Bleach, either. It just doesn't seem right. It would feel like white appropriation of black identity or something.

But those are my personal feelings, and I wouldn't judge anyone who wanted to dress up as anything or anyone lol as for who I could be in Dragon Age, probably Hawke since I do have the large boobs and basically an hour glass figure (not like a Barbie, but the hips and top are the same measurement), so that means no Merrill or no boys for me.

But that would be totally weird since I've never played a female Hawke o.O

In a perfect world, I'd go as Fenris but in better armor xD

Yeah they are complicated, though as I said, in Origins - she was "white." Or rather - looked like everyone else in Fereldan. In the second game, I'd say she was exposed to a lot of sun, hence the skin damage/sun spots up and down her arms and cleavage. (haha) She looks like she'd be a gypsy of some kind, like Esmerelda from The Hunchback. I can see eastern European/middle eastern/Mediterranean characteristics. I'm Sicilian, as I said, which is a historically Hellenistic blend of mediterranean folk and north african folk. Some asian slipped in there too, right around the time Mongolians came in, raided the place, and burned many buildings to the ground. (They weren't the only ones though, lol.)

So yeah, I could pull her off. I'm just not sunburned enough. If I stay out in the sun (which I did last year) my skin does end up looking like Isabela's. And ladies... I don't recommend doing that EVER. Unless you want to look like an old shoe by the time you're 40.

Trista, it was the lighting in the Pearl that made her look light-skinned - she wasn't. This is her actual head model, with actual skin colour: http://i168.photobuc...sabella_dao.png

The "Isabela was a white redhead in DA:O!" thing should be dead, because she wasn't. She's a little darker in DA2, but the range of skin colours in DA2 is better than in DA:O all around; Hawke can be actually somewhat dark, not just "tanned white," for example.

pfft as a said player of colour, Isabela really does not appeal to me in any way of form
...remember when I said about those negative and positive...well Im not gonna turn it into a debate but look up the Jim Crow museum online database for these categories:Jezabel, Carmen, and Sapphire.
Once you read em though try to understand thats just my perspective of how to handle the pirate.

Do you really see her as part of those caricatures? I mean, do you think she really belongs to any of them?

I really can't see it at all; all I see is this fantastic, strong woman, who is funny and dirty, who makes me giggle at all her comments to Fenris and following pouting when Fenris turns her down. She's a great friend as long as you accept her way: that of a free woman who is as free with her body as she pleases.

I've known women like her in the past (granted not quite as überattractive as Isabela) and I've always admired the way they were and carried themselves. I could never wear that they wore or act like they did unless hidden in the safety of a crowd. I would never be able to completely ignore the looks they got just being themselves; I'd be to ashamed. I'm no way near as brave as they are, damned lovely ****es.. err.. female dogs <3

EDIT: Whoops, forgot about the swear filter.

Never been a huge fan of Isabela, though I am just as perverted.

Let's take a cold hard look at Isabela.

She is a thief, a liar and a manipulator.

Turn the tables. If Isabela was say... the only white woman in the game would you really want people to associate her characteristics with white women? The thing is, not everyone would associate her with an ethnic group or think that is how all white women act, but some would, and that is how stereotypes are born. Personally, I would have preferred to see Aveline and Isabela with darker skin tones. It would be more balanced.

In my opinion, Aveline is a woman to admire not Isabela and her body. Aveline is hard working, career and family oriented, but she has a life outside of her job... eventually. She's trustworthy, honest and many other things. She should have been an LI.

I don't see a strong independent woman when I look at Isabela. What I see is someone who takes what they can get from others and damn the consequences. In my opinion, just like how Fenris hides behind his hair and his broodiness, Isabela does the same with her body. She makes that the focal point of her being for the majority of the game. Her body is, as well, the usual stereotypical female body you find in most games. Body shape and size should not determine confidence or be deemed important. But, alas, that's our society.

I wanted to add that I think one reason people enjoy the banter between Isabela and Aveline so much is because they balance each other out.

About Isabela, I agree with dracuella, but then again everybody comes to the game with his or her own experiences and will see and interpret the characters differently :)

Awesome shot of Fenris about to get high dragon-chomped xDDDD

I dunno guys. See, from where I'm sitting, a lot of you have criticisms of Isabela - who is very easy to criticize. And, as usual, people praise Aveline for being strong, family oriented etc. etc.

I think Aveline is flat out boring. And socially retarded. haha

It's because when the **** hits the fan you want someone you can count on, who doesn't run away from a problem, put your life in jeapardy or be completely heartless at times. I'd take boring and honest over socialite any day. My criticism of Isabela stems more from her selfishness than anything else.
