Yeah it was the same with me. I had to get used to him, I didn't think he was attractive at all at first. I actually wanted to mod his face but when I couldn't find what I was looking for, I just gave up. And then he started to grow on me. Ho boy did he ever. The voice, his bloody brilliant sarcasm (MAKER, I love that), his everything but clean prettyboy features.Trista Faux Hawke wrote...
Yeah it's weird, I thought the only pretty thing about Fenris was the emo/anime-esque hair they gave him. Otherwise, he looks exactly like an ex boyfriend of mine. Strong, lean, tall, and very masculine facial features (especially the brow, the haggard skin, the tough jawline - eee! I could go on!) Uh for the record my ex did not have elf ears, though. Ha. Just thought I'd clarify that one, there.

It seems I missed something again and now I don't understand what's going on anymore. xD
You and me both xD Apparently aldy said mean things about me but erased them (yay for waking up late!) and then Ghost said some mean stuff but I didn't read it, so, nyahTrista Faux Hawke wrote...
I think the coolest thing about Fenris is how masculine he is. (Thank you Gideon Emery for such a manly voice, by the way.) I remember meeting Anders and not being as nearly as impressed.
Oh wow, that's so interesting. I don't find Fenris masculine at all (obviously lol). He's so ... pretty. And tiny. The only thing masculine about him is his voice, and that's why it's such a great choice for him. It's startling. In fact the first time I saw him I was disappointed because I thought he looked pretty ridiculous lol I know, blasphemy >.<
Well to be honest ... now as I think about it ... I find few aspects of traditional masculinity OR femininity in Fenris. Certainly Anders is the more masculine-looking; he also is the more sensitive and falls easily in love, which are traits traditionally associated with femininity (rubbish, of course, but there it is).
In short, I think Fenris defies stereotypes and tha'ts why we love him
In fact I think DA is very good about that because so far none of the characters have ever turned me off. The men are very emotional and thoughtful and the women are assertive. YAY BW <3

Trista, Zevran was my favorite too. I also played elves. My city elf was my favorite.
Dracuella, I also wish he would stand straight. You would think a physically fit warrior would have better posture. Maybe his spine was injured somehow when he got his lyrium tattoos or something. I always thought Fenris was attractive, but I like elves.
I decided to stay out of whatever was going on yesterday. I don't know anyone here that well, but all of you seem like nice people. I hope those involved were able to resolve things.
I want to thank all of you who answered my question about Fenris's real name. It makes sense that he would want to leave the name Leto and that person in his past. I also don't think he cared to remember that person anymore after his sister told him what he was like.
Sialater, I really like that picture. I love his eyes. He looks happy in that picture. I would be interested in reading your DA2 fic if you don't mind. I would also like to read other fics if anyone has any suggestions for me.

I think it is more Fenris has to be convinced by the person in question that he/she is worth being respected. It doesn't matter whether your an elf or a human. He doesn't have much respect for the alienage elves because he feels they squander their freedom. They are free, but are mostly content with living under the heel of humans. They have accepted their inferiority in a way, and that is something that pisses Fenris off.It makes he can't feel a connection to most of them. But I think that he would definitely respect a city elf Warden, for example, one that fought a human noble to free herself and her friends.
Fenris is a proud man, and thus he is not interested in people who don't try to make the best out of their lifes, but waste it living in poverty and with little (self-)respect. It is about what they do with the freedom they have.

But is he really making the best out of his from Act 1 to 2?
You could say he isn't, no, but that's not completely fair. Keep in mind he is not truly free at that time. Danarius is still out there, possibly sending more armies of slavers after him. He doesn't have the chance to move forward while his past is trying to catch up with him and drag him back. That's the sad thing, and that is also (I think) an important reason why the romance with Fenris has such a rough start. He can't live the life he wants to yet. He still has to hide, look over his shoulder, live like a ghost. He is still fighting for his freedom at the time.
