coldwetn0se, you are welcome. Gracing others with my knowledge of mad mod wrangling skills is always pleasing.
And I really recommend DAR. It won't change any of the companions; I don't mod them myself, the new ones just feel like doppelgangers. But the changes it makes to all the other ambient NPCs are truly needed in some cases. Clipping issues are fixed, horrible proportions dealt with and many other things. Besides, if you don't like a particular change, you can just delete that particular .mor, leaving the others intact and-- Ehm... this should conclude my DAR sales pitch :"D Sooo... How 'bout that Fenris?

aldien, well, thank you kindly! I'm rather fond of it myself. I think it encapsulates my nature perfectly. But rainbow pooping is also pretty great, you are correct. Tough choice.

Why do I see you walking around on the beach with a mojito in your hand?
Does it make the hands in proportion to the body? The hands freak me out.
Fenris is great.

And great he is, yes. Too bad uni is such a harsh mistress, I really miss running around with my Hawke and the broody elf down virtual caves. I just have to sate myself with youtube videos.
Edit: you see it because it's true! I love mojitos AND loitering in various places. You, my lady, are amazingly insightful!
Also, typing from a phone sucks monkey ass.

It's probably mean of me, but I find friendmancing Fenris difficult. I've always been very pro-mage, so agreeing with him on the mage thing makes me feel like a hypocrite. But then there's the whole slavery thing, and it makes his romance quite unbalanced.
Sigh.
I do not take him on missions where I know he will disagree. I think of it like this: Hawke knows they are going to be dealing with mages today. That's a sensitive subject for Fenris and he will only confuse the situation and so would Anders. So I only take party members who aren't extreme in their views. I mean, you get letters so you know what you are dealing with before you go out to do the job. I can still manage to friendmance Fenris without agreeing with his every statement. It takes longer.
Here's the thing.... taking Fenris on mage missions is kind of like throwing it in his face. I don't know. I'm just diplomatic with him rather than up in his face with everything. I guess I see it as respect. Maybe it's just to get into his pants, but I try to see it as being sensitive to his feelings as well as respecting the decisions I make in the game for that particular Hawke. But I'm sometimes pro templar so it depends on the roleplay.
MrFlipFlops I like you and you come across completely awesome. I want to hang out with you on the beach drinking mojitos and admiring shells. Coldie and I have an affinity for peace loving drinkers. Please stick around even if it sucks monkey ass to write us or at least write us occasionally
I couldn't get the Gilmore mod to download properly o_O I'll try again later tonight. Anyone else have any problems with this?
Mmmmmmm Alistair... I mean Fenris. This is your fault Coldie, you and your comic! Blasphemy!
Amirit I gave up on synchronization, hence my new avatar. I cannot get anything from DAO to upload :/

MissRedZelda, I think that's a conundrum that many mage lovin' Fenrismancers face, but there are ways to get around that. Aldy (can I call you that?) already provided a very good one and I am about to provide another one! The Hawke I wrote for Fenris transitions from anti- to pro-mage from the first act to the second and by the time he begins getting his **** together and gets over the bordeline breakdown he was going through in the first act, Fernis is already maxed out on the friendship bar, so Kas is free to help all the mages he wants. That's kinda cheating from a gameplay perspective, since the friend/rival system is far from perfect, but works great from a storytelling one. Or I just think too much of my writing ability XDD
Aldien, aw, thats's just... So nice, my heart melted
Also, properly proportioned hands are a very good thing to be excited about. Those monstrous shovels the game tries to pass off as hands need a good doing away with.

My last attempt. It's driving me crazy when I do not understand why something as simple does not work. I managed to get a small miracle - upload 2 of my ugliest characters from DA2 to the site. Hope for a small victory over DAO as well
Update. That last attempt failed miserably. Expected but still sad. And not only game itself but that stand-alone-character creator does not want to synchronize anything as well. That can not even be the account problem!

At first I thought he meant Merrill but he said "No no, the one with the white hair."
Result in much screeching from me about how he was clearly blind and Fenris was lovely. I hope the look I gave him made it clear what thin ice he is now on...

I feel quite lucky with respects for my LI choices in these games, and my husbands thoughts. He has found all of my romance choices understandably appealing (Alistair and Zevran for DAO, Fenris for DA2, and Thane for ME). Though he was a bit skeptical on Zev at first (and no; not because he is pervy....Rog thought that was funny.) He just knows that I generally like "taller" men. heh! He thinks that Alistair is the most physically attractive, but that Thane and Fenris are the most dynamic. I think he has a man crush on Thane, but he totally sees the appeal of Fenris (thinks he also has a great VA.....which of course, he does!

BF is neither blonde nor buff.
Oddly I'm having problems with this Sebastian romance in a way I hadn't anticipated. I've somehow got it into my head that Fenris likes Hawke, whether she flirts with him or not. And when she gets together with Sebastian, Fenris sits in his mansion at night and just thinks 'of course she would have a prince over an ex slave'.
Edit: So I caved and thought I'd romance Fenris. I didn't flirt with him at all up until A Bitter Pill. I comforted him after Hadriana's death using the flirt icon, then used the flirt icon when he turned up at the Estate. Didn't get the option to have him stay though. Do you need to flirt with him a certain number of times for him to 'come around'?

Aldien, aw, thats's just... So nice, my heart meltedcan't say the same for my bum, why did I think it a good idea to sit on stone steps?. Drinking mojitos on the beach with you sounds mighty fine, especially compared to my current activities. I will most certainly stick around, you guys seem like a delight so far. And to think I was afraid of not getting along with people here.

I'm happy to hear you are sticking around!

That sounded like I was flirting didn't it? Well only on Thursdays because that's green M&M day.
The first time I saw the hands I couldn't concentrate on the characters. It reminded me of Frankenstein o_O But good to know about the mod
What I have noticed with Fenris is that in certain lighting he does not look attractive or rather the lighting tends to show flaws in the model. One place in the game where I think he looks gordeous is when you go to visit the Dalish. If you take him and when you are speaking with Marethari and he is standing behind Hawke, he looks amazing. When he is speaking to Hawke in the foyer of the mansion it doesn't show him off. It tends to show off more of the small bulges in the model's face. Actually, anywhere indoors tends to not really show off his best features. That was the same for the Alistair model. Once he was brought out into the open he looked a lot more like Alistair. Indoors, he looked horrible in DA2.
My husband is very tall and lanky. He likes Alistair most because he says things like lunch makes everything better. That's exactly the sort of thing my husband would say. The ever present Monty Python humour. Fenris, he says has anger issues but he appreciates how much he drinks. Zevran he says is angry because he is short o_O *sighs* tall people do not understand.

Thanks Mr. FlipFlops for the info about the hand mod! Awesome news. I'm kind of nervous to try any of the skin texture/replace mods... but I guess I should just go for it. Having a lot of fun with the Universal Dye Kit mod, changing the colors of everyone's armors and weapons.
Natural Bodies mod is awesome, I made dirty screenshots of Jowan and Lily.
**
so far only romanced Anders once (friend path)... it was fun for that PT with my snarky blood mage Hawke, but I don't know if I can do it again. Sebastian is the only one I haven't tried yet.. Fenris is just so hard to resist.

I don't think I have the mods that were requested here. I do have Dragon Age Redesigned, the recommended balance between lore and beauty. I also have morphs for Morrigan and Leliana. I don't know why only the ladies get modded in my game. I guess I really like the default Alistair and Zevran better. Tried a Zev morph once, did not like it at all and it refused to go away. xD It was a lot of work to get Zev's old, familiar face back. The default Morrigan and Leliana looked a bit odd though, especially the lips.
@ Staarbux: boyfriends! They will never understand, haha. xD Is he not wondering if he should dye his hair white now that it turns out you like Fenris?
@ aldy: what's up with the new avatar? Now I have to get used to a new one again. That's confusing! I still miss your dragon.
Monty Python is great. I would like a character voiced by John Cleese in the next game. That would be awesome. xD Not as great as mr Emery, but still... LOL, Zevran angry because he is short. I have never paid much attention to the fact that Zev is a bit short. He is still taller than Oghren. xD
This post doesn't really contribute anything at all, but at least I said hi.

I do have a couple of mage play throughs still in the Origin part of the story....hmmm.
I do agree lighting on Fenris can be dodgy inside, but he tends to look great in the Chantry, the Hanged Man, and Hawkes bedroom.

And about the second point... What are you talking about!? Bah! Fenris always looks gorgeous! Or it could be my willful visual editing, I do that sometimes. It gets tricky when the effect wears off and I'm left gawking at the skybox or something, trying to figure out if it always looked like so much arse. Truth is painful.
April, what texture/skin replacing mods are you going to try? Maybe I can tell you in advance if some of them cause problems.
ren, thank you very much for the welcome. Glad to be here. And on the topic of Zevran... The guy is a shrimp! I think my elf wardens were taller than him, though not by much. I only noticed it recently, when I caught sight of him sanding next to Sten. He looked like a dwarf next to a human.

New Texures by MissB *I understand the eye ones are only for toolset which I don't know anything about (yet)
Duchells Textures - skins and scars
LOTCs Eye TexturesLOTCs Eye Textures[/url]
and then I thought this one looked good, but it sounds like it can cause issues
JB3textures
debating on retextured lady of the forest
I haven't gotten into the DA2 mods yet but if you have recomendations, please feel free to share.
thanks!

New Textures - I don't have that one, since I didn't like anything there, but I can download and test it when I get home to tell whether it behaves like a good little mod.
Duchelles textures - this is for CC and shouldn't **** anything up. I'm not sure though, I have many CC mods that I downloaded in a daze, so I'll make sure it's harmless when I get home. Also, it's for DA2 not DAO.
LOTC's Eye textures - this is for the CC, won't mess with anything.
JB3 textures - I downloaded it once, but was kinda dissappointed. Everything just looked too sharp and unnatural, my eyes hurt. But feel free to try it for yourself. And the only problem it causes that I'm aware of is a memory leak if you install too many optional tweaks at once. Just restrict yourself to two.
Eh, I'd love to recommend you something, but I will have to check my stash.
Probably shouldn't have even posted this before cheking everything properly at home, but what can I say... It's lunch break and I'm bored.

I think I will skip the JB3 for now, the more I look at it, the more it seems like heavy noise overlaid on everything. Are there any good skin texture mods that apply to all NPCs? I just can't find anything on the nexus in the search feature.
Thanks for your help, no rush on anything of course. If anyone else wants to throw out some good DA2 mods, I'd welcome it. (saw a dark Fenris with blood red markings today.... gonna be hard to forget that one.)
I just can't get some of these outfit mods to work... Rev80 mages and Hsti sexy robes, I ended up restarting my
warden from scratch because I read to uncheck the 'installed' box before starting the new campaign. The Rev80 robes show up now but the others just give a big blank space and I have a floating head. <grumble> don't mind me, miss grumpy pants over here.
edit, even the Warden is grumpy she can't have sexy robes , these will have to do
